The Sundrop

Soooo... hey, lovelies! Wattpad decided to ban my OneArtsyGamer03 account... which is so great am I right
*cries*
It's fine! Totally fine. Right now, I'm just focusing on republishing all my old stories. They will be left unedited, as I'm going to be publishing new, fresh versions of these stories anyway so there's not really any point in editing these ones. I just wanna get them back up for you all to find.
That being said, I will not be editing anything or fixing anything in these old stories since I'm writing up new better versions of these anyway! So I'm just gonna be copying and pasting the chapters, leaving in all author notes and everything. <3
Also! I'm also going to be copying this message into all my old stories so if you see it again that's why.
Anyway... Welcome home, lovelies <3
...
HIIII LOVELIESSS
Another day another slay for a new story for you, Y/N! :D
I hope you've all been doing well! I really needed that break, it totally ignited the spark in my brain to write owo
So, a few things! Rapunzel has been renamed Faunus for this story! Faunus means God of Forests :D I really liked that name, thus I bestowed it on Male Rapunzel owo
AND!
I'm officially changing it so all stories from here and onward are primarily written in the 3rd person P.O.V. After writing my Walking Dead Series, I discovered I really enjoy writing that way more than 1st person, so I'm sticking with it! I really hope you don't mind, and will still read my stories! <3
(^ This isn't valid at this time, as I have other stories to republish that are written in the first person since this story was done way after them. So, my other republished stories will still have first person (Except for the Walking Dead))
Without further delay, I present:
My Dream
...
Well... here it is. The story of how I, or, well... we, die, dear reader.
A beautiful, lush forest comes into view, the trees clustered closely and their leaves a vibrant shade of green. On one of the thick tree trunks was a wanted poster, the label reading WANTED ALIVE FOR QUESTIONING with an image of a figure with a hood over their face, the name on the bottom a bunch of question marks.
But don't worry! This story's actually pretty fun, and honestly, it's not really even mine.
The wanted poster flutters a bit in the breeze, the stamped symbol of corona on the frontside.
This is a story about a man named... Faunus. And this story begins... with the sun.
...
The sun rise was brilliant shades of orange and pink, the sun golden and casting its warm, gentle rays on the magnificent kingdom below.
Actually, it beings with the old cliche opening "Once upon a time," but anyway...
A golden drop falls off the sun, glowing brightly as it falls through the swirl of fluffy clouds.
Once upon a time, a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens. And from this small drop of sun, grew a magical golden flower.
The sun drop lands on the dirt of the earth, a beautiful flower sprouting from it. The flower was as gold as the sun itself, its petals silky with a purple hue in the center. The center glows a bright shade of orange and gold.
It was said to have the ability to heal the sick and injured.
An old man carrying a lantern staggers through the thick brush of the woods, the lantern giving off an eerie green glow. His wrinkles were heavy, the bags under his eyes dark and his hair thinned and wispy and a blinding white under his hooded cape. His icy blue eyes spot the flower, his mouth parting in awe as he gasps.
See that old guy creeping in the bushes? Unfortunately, he's pretty important, so keep him in your thoughts as we continue.
The old man sets his lantern down, and reaches for the flower desperately.
...
..
Well, then! Centuries passed, and a mighty kingdom came to be, which was ruled by a beloved king and queen!
A portrait of King Frederic and his wife, Queen Arianna was proudly presented on the wall of the castle.
...
And the queen was about to have a baby, but...
Queen Arianna lays in her bed propped up by pillows, pregnant belly prominent under the covers as she holds her husband's hand, her skin a sickly complexion and her body weak.
She got sick. Really sick.
King Frederic clasps her hand tightly in both of his, eyes red and wide and filled with tears as the guards and nurses around him watch helplessly.
...
Hundreds of boats sail on the harbors of Corona, some lantern lights on the bridge as people left the kingdom in search of a cure.
She was running out of time, and the people began to look for a miracle to help save their queen.
People dock on the edge of the woods, several guards leading them on expeditions.
Or, in other words, the magic golden flower.
...
The old man looks around with narrowed eyes, limping over towards where the magical golden flower was. He removes the cover he had placed over it, quickly glancing around for a moment before setting it down.
Ah! See? Told you he was important. You see, instead of sharing the sun's gift, this man, Father Gothel, hoarded its healing power and used it to keep himself young for hundreds of years. And all he had to do to activate its powers... was sing a special song.
Gothel removes his hood as he sets down the lantern, clearing his throat before singing softly in a raspy, weak voice.
"Flower, gleam and glow..."
The flower seems to come to life, glowing a brilliant gold as the petals expand outward.
"Let your power shine," Gothel continues, hovering his hands around the flower. "Make the clock reverse..."
His skin begins to smooth over, his voice changing and becoming deeper, and much younger sounding.
"Bring back what once was mine... what once... was mine..."
As he sings the final note, his hair changes to a dark black color, facial hair growing on his chin and his wrinkles completely smoothed over. Gone was the thin, frail old man, instead replaced by the young and healthy man.
Yup. Singing to the flower turns him young. Weird, right?
Gothel smirks to himself as he looks down at the flower, a gasp leaving him when he hears voices nearby. He quickly places the cover back over the flower, snatching his lantern as he rises.
His lantern smacks the cover over the flower as he turns to flee, Gothel not noticing as he yanks his hood over his head.
Gothel ducks for cover as the light of a lantern comes into view, a palace guard emerging and leading a large group of people. Another guard joins his side, the first guard's eyes widening at the sight of the glowing golden flower.
"We found it!" he triumphantly yells, causing the people to roar with cheers.
...
The two guards quickly and carefully lift the flower from the soil, the roots long and curled.
Gothel's face hardens in a dark scowl as he watches, the moonlight shining across his eyes.
...
They place the flower rootless inside of a bowl of warm water, Frederic looking down at it with a silent prayer.
He props Arianna's head up with one hand, gently lifting the bowl to her lips as she sips.
The magic of the golden flower was true, and healed the queen overnight.
...
A baby's cooing could be heard, a mobile hanging over a crib in a bright room.
And soon after, a healthy baby boy-- the prince-- was born, with gorgeous golden hair.
The mobile above spun slowly, the symbol of Corona on the center and a horse, duck, chameleon, baby cupid, and a bird hanging above on it.
Arianna and Frederic approach the crib, the two looking down at the baby with love as Arianna reaches for him. The baby laughs and reaches for Arianna as she picks him up, Arianna laughing as she presses her forehead to his.
In case it wasn't clear, I'll just tell you...
Arianna presents the baby to Frederic, who smiles warmly as he sets a prince's crown on the baby's head. The crown was golden with sapphire gemstones lining the pointed ends, the rim decorated with sun designs.
That's Faunus.
Faunus lets out a giggle as he peers up at his father, the crown tilting unevenly on his head.
...
To celebrate Faunus' birth, the king and queen released a floating lantern into the sky.
Arianna lights a lantern bearing the symbol of corona, setting the candle down as she cradles Faunus in her arm. Together, she and Frederic lift the lantern into the dusk-filled sky. People below cheer joyously as they watch the lantern, Arianna leaning her head against Frederic's bicep as they look up into the sky.
And just for that one moment, everything was absolutely perfect.
...
The moon's reflection was bright on the dark waters of the harbor, the kingdom silent as the people slept after the celebration.
But... then that moment was gone, fleeting as the sun setting.
The balcony door to the king and queen's room creaks open, the wind howling ominously. A shadow looms over Faunus' crib, a hushed, old voice singing.
"Flower, gleam and glow..."
Gothel reaches for Faunus' hair as it starts to glow gold, lifting a small portion and wielding scissors in his other hand.
"Let your power shine..." Gothel smirks wickedly as he starts to become young once more. "Make the clock re..."
As Gothel snips through the hair, it turns a dark shade of brown, causing him to gasp as his skin becomes old once more, hair whitening as he looks down at Faunus. Faunus' hair turns brown where Gothel had cut, the baby stirring.
...
Gothel broke into the castle and stole the baby...
Frederic swiftly sits up as Faunus begins to wail, Arianna doing the same as they both look to the crib.
Gothel sits on the ledge of the balcony holding Faunus, Frederic staggering out of bed urgently as he dashes towards him.
And in an instant, he was gone.
Gothel looks back with a glare, flaring his cape as he turns away.
...
The entire kingdom searched and searched restlessly, but they could not find any sign of their stolen prince.
Cliffs surround a tall tower that stood in a meadow of grass, a waterfall pouring down into a small, shallow river that disappears back into the cliffs.
For deep within the forest, in a tower hidden cleverly by tall cliffs, Gothel raised the child as his own.
"Save what has been lost..."
Faunus, now seeming to be around the age of seven, sings quietly as he sits on his knees in front of Gothel, who was brushing his hair for him.
"Bring back what once was mine... what once was mine..."
Gothel's hands smooth over and become healthy, his complexion his younger self once again as he sighs quietly.
Gothel had found his new magical flower, and this time, he was adamant on keeping it hidden.
Faunus watches the fire in the fireplace, pouting a bit. "Why can't I go outside?"
"The outside world is a dangerous place, filled with horrible, selfish people," Gothel calmly responds as he brushes through Faunus' hair. "You must stay here, where you're safe. Do you understand, flower?"
Faunus frowns, but nods obediently. "Yes, father."
...
However, those tower walls and cliffs could not hide everything.
Faunus slowly tip toes down the stair case, his hair dragging behind him. He peers around the doorframe leading into Gothel's room, holding his breath as he quickly and silently rushes across.
Each year on his birthday, the king and queen released thousands of lanterns into the sky...
Faunus opens the window, a wide grin on his face as he watches the night sky.
In hopes that one day... their lost prince would come home.
He sighs blissfully at the sight of the lanterns, his eyes sparkling with awe as he leans his cheek on his hand.
