I'm so, so, so horrible at engaging in conversation. It's really embarrassing and awkward for me because I don't know how to talk in a conversation properly, since I'm a lonely person.

I had to go over to bring my younger brother back home because he was eating at his friend's house. When I got there, he wasn't done eating with them so I had to talk to the parents while I waited for him to finish.

Basically the conversation went like this;

Mother: "Hi, *My name*, how are you doing?"

Me: "Good."

*Long pause as I awkwardly watched them eat their food*

Mother: "So...how's school been going for you?"

Me: "It's been good."

*Another long pause*

Dad: "You can sit down if you want." ((This guy had a really sour and grumpy expression on his face, so I was a little nervous.))

Me: "Uh, no- Mea- I'm  f-fine."

Dad: "Okay."

*Another five mother-trucking minute pause of all of us staring at each other*

Me: "I...can just go home and wait for him there."

Mom: "Alright, thanks for coming over!"

Me: *unintentionally quietly*' "Yeah, thanks."

And I forgot to shut the freaking door after I walked out of their house.
Why am I like this.
