Zombie AU -> Tubbo & Techno (Story)
~
It was very hot and walking on cement is not helping his heels. The sun shone down upon the male walking. He could walk on the grass side, but it's better to travel at open areas. Only reason being, they could look out for zombies. There are plenty of other reasons why it is a bad idea to walk in the open as well.
Sword strapped to his side and hood from his cloak up made it a little bit heavier and hotter. At this point walking miles was pretty useless. Though needing to get to safety was top priority.
Pulling a map out from his inside pocket he opened it. Holding it up with one hand he pointed at the road he was supposedly to be on. His hand trailed onto a square with a symbol over it. Gas station.
Grinning he put the map away and started to look around, maybe he could catch a break maybe find some snacks as well. His food supply was low but it was enough to at least feed himself for a coupple of days.
Traveling alone came with a perk,
Not needing to worry about another person, feeding yourself, keeping your own supply, and not needing to take or give orders.
But it was lonely.
Other than the zombies. They do not count. They're undead.
Plus if you ever get injured badly. There is not a way to dig yourself out.
In a far distance past the half dead trees was a blurry building. Internationally cheering he gave out a sigh of relief.
Picking up his pace his eyes darting around but then he came to a stop. As the building bacme clear he saw more undeads.
Normally they would at least have some space between them but they all were crowded at the glass entrance. Strange.
Pulling out his weapon and having an internal fight he decided to go. Maybe they smelt something. It was the only way. Or.... A person...
No. It's too far out, no way there can be someone.
His gut told him to go. But his mind screamed for safety.
Growling he made the decision, no way was he going to fight all of that. It's a hoard! He would probably die just for saving some food.
He was about to go around. But stopped.
It was a chance. And even IF there IS someone they would probably end up killing him. That is how people now are. Throwing their friends in a zombie pack for their own survival. It was terrible.
It was also another reason he was alone. Putting trust in someone was a huge thing. Anytime they could stab your back... Literally and figuratively. Didn't matter. You would still die.
Gripping his sword tighter he picked up a rock at the side of the road then climbed onto a tree. When he was sure he was hidden enough that they couldn't see him. The then brought his hands to his lips and blew out.
The loud whistle rang and made it to the ears the the undead. They all stopped clawing at the glass turning their attention to the tree I was in. All at once they ran.
From this hight they almost looked like a stampede. Just a group of animals.
No.
Not even animals act like that.
Finding their way over each other and to the tree they all started clawing the tree, growls and gurgles escaping their broken throats.
With the rock in hand, mentally whispering to himself that hopefully this works, he tossed it far. Landing in a bush it created a loud enough sound to catch all the attention again.
Like hunters hunting their predator they chaised the sound.
After waiting a second he jumped off his light body barley making a sound once landing. Sprinting to the direction he wasted to time to get into the building.
Pulling on the glass thick door he knew it was locked. Of course.
Running around the building he found the side door, for employees.
Testing the nob he saw it was unlocked. Quietly he turned it all the way and opened the door. Creaking loudly, he was thankful to have lured the zombies far enough.
With a swift movement he slipped inside and closed the door, this time locking it.
It was a short hallway to both sides were the bathroom and a coupple feet was the empity shelves.
He silently cursed. At least have ONE useful thing in here. Please. He begged.
Cautiously walking in he looked around, refrigerators were off, most of them opened and some barley any were shattered. Though by the signs above the fridges was good enough to say everything was taken at the beginning of this whole mess, the sign saying "Beers". Of course.
The shelves were all empity, even the sweets, and most of the shelves were broken on the ground, fallen on top of each other.
Going behind the cash register he looked around seeing if they had anything useful. The register itself was opened, no money inside. Unless counting the quarter. He knew it was going to be useless but maybe using it as a fidget tool wouldn't be a bad idea. Putting it in his pocket he continued to look around.
Finding something silver in the corner of his eyes he gasped, finally! A lighter! Making your own fire was hard enough a zippo was a bonus in his case. Flicking the cap off he tested it out. A light orange flame was made slowly flickering with every movement.
Putting it away he was about to look some more but then he heard something, shuffling? Pulling out his sword he made his way around back. The quiet movements of the other became louder. Turning the courner he pointed his sword out.
It was a pile of cardboard boxes, though one stood out in particular. Having the words "Storage" written at the front it shuffled around.
Creeping closer he stopped feet away until the top opened quickly. Knife pointed at his throat he took a step back.
Not lowering his weapon he looked at the boy in the box closer. It was clear he was scared, his hands were shaking and the look in his eyes told another emotion other than anger.
"W-who are you?! Get back!"
He tried to hide his emotion while shouting, though the skating in his voice did not help out.
The other lowered his sword he didn't dare to even put it in the pouch.
Not getting a verbal answer annoyed the boy in the box.
"I said, who are you?!"
Said more confidentiality the box boy narrowed his eyes, hand raising the knife at the other.
"Well. This could go both ways." The other whistled, leaning back on his heels not moving his eyes away, just in case.
"Well. I asked first. Who are you and where did you come from?!"
"I'd rather not say. Though I definitely did not expect to find somebody here. Mainly in a storage box."
He rolled his eyes, tightening his grip on his sword. The boy bit his lips. A though going through his head.
"Please don't kill me..."
His eyes widened "Wha? No, no! I am not a hunter. Infact I would say I hate those guys. They suck."
The boy lowered his short knife. But kept both hands on them.
"I don't believe you."
"That's fine." He stopped with a shrugg, "I don't blame you."
The boy tilted his head confused. It had hard for to tell if the other was telling the truth or not.
"Right..."
"Anyways... Uh," not knowing how to start a conversation the other looked around seeing all the boxes empty.
"Well, this place was useless." He scoffed, turning around he stashed away his sword walking away. They boy kept his eye on the other as he walked out. Looking at his backpack to the side, he waited long enough then he grabbed it and followed the man out.
Looking around the station he saw the other lifting up a shelf.
"What are you doing?" Tilting his head he slowly walked up to the other, not helping though.
The other didn't respond, once he got it standing up it revealed a bag of gummies bears. Snatching it he walked past the shorter- now they could tell sense they were standing up- jumping on the counter he pulled down a scarf that had covered his mouth and popped open the bag.
Throwing a gummie in his mouth He sat the bag aside he grabbed his map again opening it, looking at the map he reached for a pen, once he got his hands on it he clicked it and drew a check mark over the box he was supposedly in.
"Uhh.." the other boy slowly walked behind the counter curiously looking at the map.
"Where are you trying to go?"
The boy looked up to his eyes, only to have him keep his eyes straight at the map. An annoyed expression clear in his eyes.
"That's. Nice." He decided to continue, "Well my name is Tubbo!"
The boy, Tubbo leaned on the table hands on his face. A smile on his face.
Scanning his eyes over the map about three times, the other started to kick his legs. Making sure not to hit the counter with his heels his eyes darted forwards before blinking and looking at Tubbo.
Tubbo had his eyes on the map. Trying to read it to see where the other is going.
"Alright. Listen."
His voice sounded a bit bored and annoyed. He continued, "I have no idea who you are-"
"Tubbo."
"Right, yeah, sure." He rolled his eyes, "I don't really need you looking over my shoulders. I just met you and I'll be blunt. I don't trust you."
He Huffed, jumping off the counter folding up the map he put it back in his pocket.
Turning to look at the shorter, seeing his expression of confusion and sadness. He couldn't help but feel a bit of guilt.
"Why? I haven't done anything. And you haven't either! We could be friends."
"That is not hot that works."
He walked to the glass door. Looking outside he saw only a coupple of crawlers. He could easily outrun them, only problem with them is that they are loud. Cannot be spotted.
While the young man was coming up with a plan the younger was keeping his eyes on him. Looking down he saw the bags of gummies. Grinning he grabbed them sticking his hand in and pulling some out.
Distracted by the loud crumbling he turned around and glared at the boy with a mothful.
"I found that." He spoke up, "Well I found this place first."
"You can't claim something I found- you know what, forget it. I don't have time for this." He mumbled at the end, Tubbo barley catched it.
He planned out what he needed to do. If someone was already here what is their to say no one else would come. Probably the hoard of zombies could come back. Who knows.
But first leaving, maybe sneaking out where he entered from. Then he could run into the woods. Walk about a coupple hours until sundown, climb a tree and continue. Easy.
Looking back at the boy devouring the pack of gummies. He decided it was useless to have it back. It was the one thing he tasted something sweet in weeks. But it was candy. It would probably melt in the open sun anyways. Don't want a mess...
Sighing he started to walk. Catching the other's attention, the boy stopped with the gummies shoving it in his bag he stood up straight. Looking on how he was heading to the back. He started to realize what was happening.
"Wait! Why are you leaving so early." He stopped on his tracks, his head turned to the side but he kept his eyes forward.
"I have no clue why you are going to Manburg but I don't think there's anything there."
"No, people are there. Safe behind walls."
"What? No, how do you know?"
"Rumors."
With that he continues walking, clicking open the door he slipped out again trying to stay quiet as possible. The sun was lower than before but it was enough for him to make it five hours before it turns pitch black.
Hovering one of his hands over the grip part of the sword he kept his eyes out for any undeads. Quietly he walked out to the road and walked. His pace faster then once he got there.
~
The sun was setting and having a camp for the night could be a good idea. But judging on how warm it was he didn't need a campfire right now.
Just walk a bit more then look for a good tree to climb. And just relax.
'Crack!'
Pulling out his sword in an instant he turned to the direction of the sound. Was it an animal? Could be. Zombies could not be quiet for the life of them.
Stepping closer he held out his sword, walking off of the road and close to a bush he stopped. With one hand he reached out, quickly he pushed it aside and was about to slice whoever was there but stopped inches away from a throat.
"Why did you follow me?!" He growled, the boy, Tubbo gave a awkward grin, "I- uh... I wanted to stay with someone..." His grin faded and he looked down a bit of sadness running though his head.
The taller didn't say anything, sliding his sword where it belonged he turned around and continued walking. Not even saying a word.
Tubbo shouted out, jumping out of the bush with a stumble he jogged to catch up, leaning to look at his eyes Tubbo frowned.
"I'm sorry."
He didn't respond, "I just- I uh. I wanted to say with someone..." He looked ahead figeting with something in his hands, a small shiney pin.
"Who- of course- won't kill me."
The hodded boy scoffed, "Oh yeah. Brilliant idea. Just follow a random stranger see if that won't get ya killed."
"But you haven't killed me yet."
"Yeah, that doesn't prove any point. Literally I could be leading you into a trap. 'Oh boy! I'll just follow this random stanger I just met ten minuets ago and hope he doesn't kill me!'." His hand waved around, most being sarcastic movements.
"You know if you were leading me into a trap you would have probably not said that out loud." Tubbo crossed his arms a huff leaving his lips.
The other glanced to the side before looking ahead, no point to respond to that.
"Plus if I die, it was my fault anyways!" He sounded a bit to cheery when saying that. Rolling his eyes he snapped back "Yeah. And if I die it will be your fault."
Tubbo's eyes darted away for a second, before he glared at the man, though he didn't say anything back. Paying his attention to his shiney pin.
~
It was night, Tubbo and his companion had come across a couple of zombies but with the shiney sword, the older was able to take them out easily with a swing. No biggie.
After the encounter Tubbo started to admire his skills,
"How did you learn how to fight?" He asked looking at the man with curiosity as the man himself was shaking the blood off of the sword, it was a simple question. Maybe he had gone to some combat lessons before the apocalypse.
The other looked at Tubbo before, looking back, "It doesn't matter anymore." His eyes showed a bit of hurt but he still kept his heard look.
"Oh. Okay." The way he he said it sounded like it wasn't a group that was thought more like it was private. And the teacher was someone special to him.
"I had an old friend. He was crazy fun. Together we would annoy the crap out of people. We clicked together yet we were nothing alike, we were only toddler age. But later on I moved away. I miss him now and I know I will probably never see him again I even forgot his name... I can assume you feel the same way about whoever you lost..." Tubbo looked at the cement as he recalled the faint memory.
The man didn't say anything, his hand gripped his sword tighter but he did feel bad for the boy. He looked young anyways. Wait, how old was he?
It was silent for a coupple of minuets before the young man spoke up, "Let's camp out in a tree. It'll be safer." His voice had no emotion, coming to a stop and looking to the tree lines.
The he saw one that was easily climbable but high enough to not get spotted. Walking his way he kept his eye to the woods to not get jumped.
Tubbo followed close behind, and once the taller stopped he looked and made contact.
"Go first."
He wordlessly nodded and placed his hands on the tree. Trying to climb up was hard, keeping his chin on the log that from a distance you might think he is hugging the tree itself, and seeing that his 'friend' won't help he doesn't even know he'll catch him.
Reaching for a branch he streched out to grab it brealy missing his fingers. Getting on his toes he managed to grab onto it, then he pulled himself up. Whilst pulling up he barley noticed the branch bending until it was late. With a snap he yelped and stumbled.
Before he could fall, the other caught him from underneath. Letting out a relief sigh he thanked him before continuing, this time with help.
Making it to the middle and knowing it was safe he looked down.
"Okay, what about you?"
Without saying anything he climbed the tree next to his. With ease he got himself comfortable. Reaching his hand behind his head he then closed his eyes and pretend to sleep.
Tubbo seeing him he flipped over and decided to rest as well.
~
He could not rest. Not even for a minute, the thought of falling and hurting himself was something huge. Also the uncomfortable feeling of wood is bothersome. Turning his head, Tubbo looked at the other. How did he fall asleep?
He reasted in a similar position from last time Tubbo had checked, one of his hands were keeping his head upright, he was laying on his side away from Tubbo, and by looking at him he seemed to be breathing calmly. So he could only assume the man is asleep.
Turning back he decided to at least try to get a coupple of minuets of sleep. Resting his eyes he tried getting in a comfortable position again to fall asleep.
The other was most definitely awake. His eyes were locked on the quarter he had found as he played with it.
Putting it away he then pulled out a ring tied to a string. It was tucked in his cloak so you couldn't see it even if you got close. Memories filled his head so many about where he had gotten the ring. And who had worn it. Gripping the ring tightly. He quietly muttered to himself,
"I will get to you... No matter what."
~End~
(Out of oder pictures but some visuals for the story)
I am not continuing this story but I can explain some reasons why Techno wanted to go to his destantion aka Manburg and some other things
He wanted to go to Manburg because his family is there, when the apocalypse happened word was going out that Manburg was a "safe" place. And that is where Techno, Tommy, Wilbur, and Philza headed off to.
But something had happened that got Techno split up, only thing he had of them was Phil's ring. (It has hardcore hearts molded onto it -> three to be exact, one per each son)
So as he was making his way he stumbled across Tubbo. He didn't want to have him around because he is scared of well being a cause to a death. Hints why he said "If I die it will be your fault."
He half means it at the time but later on he will literally fetch planets for this child.
Another reason why he didn't want Tubbo to join him is because not enough recourses. Tubbo had the pack of gummies that he "stole" (and at some point they share. Wholesome I know).
At some point they go hunting finding wild boars but he has pork-cat syndrome search it up. (Good cannon for Techno and a funney name lamo) so they or he passes. Tubbo didn't care (cause he didn't want to kill it anyways)
At some point Tubbo seeing his good fighting skills against a hoard of zombies he starts calling Techno "The Blade" cause he doesn't know his name yet (he says it in the future)
While exploring they get themselves into trouble running into those so-called hunters who literally kill anyone. They get taken to their camp. And they want information Techno doesn't give them any. You could probably guess what happenes there.
They escaped injured. Run into another camp. But at least they are friendly. Woop Woop. Dream team yay. They heal and continue. Dream Team giving them some healing stuff and food :D
And they take shelter in a ghost town and oh wow another kid! Ranboo! Yeah they find him, (they are all humans in this au so yee) he has the black glasses and the half white and black mask. Along with a black hoodie and jeans. (Haven't drawn him)
They earn his trust. Or more of Tubbo earns his trust and he convinces Techno's also good and won't hurt him. Because it's never his intention. But anyways another child for him to protect yay.
They go on from there. Again. So on, so on. Bond-age goes up 25% more! Ahh game references. And yeah Tubbo starts flirting towards Ranboo.
Before I go explain any further just know that is was inspired by most zombie story games. The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, and if you do know about Dead Sound's animation then I might pitch in some ideas but I like their stuff and how "Rules" are set out. (Their yt is just Dead Sound they make cool and a bit off putting deep things)
So once they get to Manburg they are asked all these question age, name, whatever.
Once they get there they aren't allowed in because the population is too crowded. And plus they have high security and stuff so entering will be a problem.
Anyways I don't know where I was going with this, I literally just wanted to draw a hooded figure in Science class because I was bored then I thought of this. Then I thought yoo give Techno a destantion and bam au. Then I was like yooo!!! What if he finds Tubbo in a box!!! Yoooooooo!! What if they both find Ranboo!!! Yooo!!! What if we gave it a zombie apocalypse type.
And bam my thought process.
Also some pitch in ideas:
- It's called Manburg because Shlatt is well the president of that (I had a good reason but I totally forgot. That part was made last month xD)
- Because I don't like arubut endings, inside the walls Philza, Wilbur, and Tommy are trying to make their way out of the walled up city.
- Techno, Tubbo, and Ranboo don't have any other choices but to leave so they do so
- Sure Phil, Wil, and Tommy escaped.
- Though it was a gap from the day Techno had gotten there (The Sleepy Trio escaped weeks before)
- Let's just have Techno, Tubbo, and Ranboo run into more hunters but they actually had the chance to run.
- and Woop Woop! Tommy saves the day! But he isn't friendly with them because he doesn't know them
- but Techno is weary like he keeps looking at Tommy thinking it's his brother but dennies it not saying something. Tommy does the same thing but they never catch eyes
- Its when Tubbo calls out for Techno when Tommy realizes who he is.
:)
Half of this was made in school. I would have finished it in school well if the gosh dang INTERNET WASNT BLOCKED
Also at the time and moment I had lost of things to explain but never remembered it because of classes getting in the way. Like gee, who learns? I know I don't /j
And I have the drawing for a while just never posted it because you see I wanted to get the story finished and the animation :P
Ask questions I will come up with the answers and love to talk about it :D
