Kunai, the cybernetic kunoichi

Figured I'd draw my most recent design for the character Kunai. I tried to draw her once before on here, but I'm not the biggest fan of how that turned out, so I decided to go for another try, and I like this a lot more than the first attempt. And since I don't have much else to add, I'll just give you her current backstory and such.

Backstory: She calls herself Kunai, but really, that's just her alias. Only she knows her real name. She was born into one of the very few clans left who still practiced the art of the ninja. But upon her 11th birthday, tragedy struck her little village when a monster attacked. It wasn't anything special, just some nameless beast, but even so it easily wiped out the village, leveling all the buildings and eating or tearing apart all of its citizens. Kunai herself even lost a couple limbs to this creature. An entire village of trained and highly skilled warriors, erased by some runt of a monster. If there was anything young Kunai learned that day, it was that humans are frail, and no amount of training will ever make up the difference in power between humans and monsters. Luckily, before she could die from her injuries, she would be saved by a secretive organization of monster hunters called The Guild. Aware of her clan's near unrivaled skill, they brought her back from the brink of death, giving her an entirely new cyborg body. Her splintered bones were replaced by a metal endoskeleton while her torn flesh and ruptured organs were replaced by artificial replicas. This allowed her to maintain a human life, while her endoskeleton makes her far stronger, faster, and tougher than any mere human. Now, years later, Kunai is one of the Guild's best hunters, able to cut most beasts to shreds in the time it takes to blink. But in her years of combat, she's somewhat lost touch with her humanity. She's become spiteful, and even a little sadistic when dealing with monsters. Kunai considers herself a weapon, a tool to simply be used by the Guild. But there are those who've seen past this, and that despite her trauma she still cares about the innocent. At the end of the day, as much as she hates monsters, more than anything she wants to make sure no one else has to go through what she went through.

Personality: Kunai's attitude can change drastically depending on who she's facing. When she's with human strangers, she's indifferent to them, neither friendly nor hostile, as if she's in the middle of figuring out whether or not she even cares what they have to say or do. When faced with a monster, Kunai's demeanor is ice cold. She talks to these beasts with spite in every word, and glares at them as if anticipating the moment they give her an excuse to take their head. But on the rare occasion she makes a friend, Kunai acts entirely different around them. With a friend by her side, Kunai isn't afraid to laugh or even attempt to make jokes. She's all too eager to make a friend happy, even if that comes at her expense. Around a friend she feels... well... human, like she's a person again.

Weapons: Kunai always carries two primary weapons, a dual set of sword hilts. These don't look like much at first glance, but they secretly each contain a mass of plasma infused with magic. The magical nature of them lets Kunai shape the plasma with her mind, effectively forming whips, swords, axes, and even a hammer, all made of this laser-like energy that can burn and cut through almost anything.

And that's Kunai as I currently know her. I hope you like her as much as I do, have a nice day.
