Here I started shading. I started with the first horse using a layout pencil to do the shadows and dark and taking a blending stump and making the horse look realistic. By the way, a layout pencil is similar to a charcoal, I think it's ebony...don't quote me. But either way, it's a darker pencil without as much mess as a charcoal, but use wisely.
