Toriel x Teen! Reader

(The reader aka you obvio microbio can be male or female, you can decide. Oh and also there will be some A/N at the end of the story)

I woke up in some cold unknown place; the only warmth that I received was the small sunlight above us from a gaping hole and the slumbering body of my dad beside me. Slowly getting up, I violently shook him with force making him open his eyes with such laziness as he grumbles in his awakening.

"What happened?" he asked

"Dad, we're inside of a cave, can't you see!!" I whine. When I mentioned the word 'cave' it made his eyes widen. "We're in a what?! Oh, your mother would be so worried about you! She's going to kill me for bringing you here for a hike. Let's go, we gotta find an exit." He grabbed my hand directing me towards a weird looking door.

Mom and dad had been divorced for more than 10 years. When I was born, mom found out that dad was cheating on her with another man. Later in the years, he began to reach home late and completely drunk. One night when mom wasn't at home, dad arrived home late and I knew that he was drunk. Despite having knowledge of his intoxication, I reached to him to help him; but he immediately grabbed my hand and beat me up, my ear-piercing screams woke my neighbors and that was the result of their divorce: child abuse.

However, I saw some changes overtime, mom was more active than usual while dad went to rehab and started dating with his new boyfriend, which I don't really mind. His boyfriend may be a bit narcissistic; but he's actually pretty cool and romantic with dad. I love it when he brings dad bouquets of different types of flowers and for me he would get me chocolate or cool videogames. I usually spend time with my dad only on summer and Christmas holidays. Before holiday started, dad asked mom's permission if he could take me on a hike, mom hesitated but she finally allowed me to spend on a hike with him.

"Howdy!"

A squeaky yet happy voice woke me up from my thoughts.

"Hmmm, golly two humans! I have never seen two humans falling together in my life! My, you two must be so confused!" the yellow flower smiled. We both nodded in agreement making the yellow flower's smile widen even more. Just when he was about to say something a cow looking monster wearing purple robes appeared and in their hand was a ball of fire. Intimidated, the small flower disappeared.

The monster smiled at us as the ball of flames disintegrated from their hand.

"Finally, I was just in time. Please, never trust that flower-for he always comes in this room and tricks innocent humans like you. I am Toriel, caretaker of the RUINS. Come, let me guide you through the catacombs"

As the monster lead the way dad began to ask her questions.

"Excuse me Miss; but are there any more humans in here?"

The monster stopped as she brought down her head, "No but worry not, as long as I am here I will make sure that both of you are safe from the monsters. Oh, I almost forgot! When meeting a monster they'll try to FIGHT. So instead of fighting why don't you try a nice conversation or at least show some MERCY? That would pull their heartstrings in no time." She smiled.

"Could you two wait for a moment? I got some errands to do-"

"Nah, its ok. Do want you need to do." Dad interrupted her

"Oh ok, be good you two alright." And she walked off leaving us two behind.

...

We waited for two hours until she finally arrived all dressed in clean blue robes with the same emblem on it. She showed us the RUINS and helped us with the puzzles, we continued like that until we found a small tidy house at the end of the RUINS. Toriel smiled as she grabbed my hand while dad followed behind.

"Surprise! Welcome to your new home, I have even prepared butterscotch-cinnamon pie as a celebration of your arrival!"

Dad bent down and whispered in my ear, "You like butterscotch?" I quickly shook my head as I cringed at the word 'butterscotch', it was just too obscure to me.

Suddenly Toriel began to sniff the air, "Is something burning? Oh dear, get yourselves comfy while I check the kitchen alright!" she ran off to the right side of the house. Dad and I went inside of the small room filled with toys and shoes of different types of sizes; I don't think any of these shoes have my size. I lay on the small, warm bed as dad sat beside me.

"Look... I know that this place might seem cozy and all but we need to get home"

"I know daddy, up there in the surface I have a life, my education and future would be ruined if I stay here in the RUINS." I kind of smiled when I realized what I've said, damn it.

"Okay, I'll go talk to Toriel if she knows where the exit is while you stay here, ok?"

"Ok, dad" I brought up my legs and hugged myself as I watch my dad leave the small room.

Dad's POV

I walked straight to the living room and spot Toriel reading a book on her comfy sofa beside a fireplace. She noticed me staring and smiled at me as she laid down her book on her lap. Her face was tinted with pink each time I got near to her. She took a deep breath as she began to stutter, "Oh! Umm, he-hello. Hop-hope you had a g-great time in the R-UINS, don't you want t-to take a rest like y/n?"

"No" I said plainly, the room got quiet making Toriel's face gets even rosier. "Oh, I-I understand... I just w-wanted to let you know that... I am very happy to have you two living here. I want to show you all of my books and my favorite bug hunting spots. I-I even thought about y/n's education! You see, I have always wanted to be a teacher." She closed her eyes with a smile on her face.

She couldn't stop blushing. I have to break the ice.

"Do you know the exit of the RUINS?" she flinched, "What did you say?" she asked. I rolled my eyes, "I said, do you know the exit of the RUINS, we want to go home."

"Home? But ...this IS HOME, uh... Do you want to know what book am I reading?"

I glared at her obviously telling her that I'm not interested. Toriel grew silent as she stood up from her sofa, "I need to do something." She walked off, I immediately ran to the room where my (daughter/son) is, he/she was fast asleep on the bed. I shook him/her and whispered," wake up! We need to leave now!" I helped him/her leave the small room and together we both walked downstairs until we finally found Toriel in the cold, dark hallway.

"You want to go home, do you not? At the end of the ruins lies the exit... I will destroy it so none of you would leave." Toriel's voice sounded cold and serious.

"No... that's not fair, why would you destroy it?!" y/n yelled

Toriel didn't dared to look back at us. "You naïve child... If you leave the Ruins... He... Asgore... will kill you. I am only protecting you, do you understand? Do not try to stop me. This is your final warning." And she walked off.

"What the hell? If she wants to protect us then why can't she take us and protect us from Asgore?!" He/she growled annoyingly. "I don't know, you should better ask her." We followed Toriel until we reached at the end of the Ruins, the doors had the same symbol like her dress.

Toriel stopped and released a sigh, "You want to leave so badly? Hmph, you're just like the others. There's only one solution to this... prove yourself... prove to me you are strong enough to survive."

Toriel turned around and released fireballs from her hands, when she fired I was easily able to dodge them but my son/daughter was hit 5 times quickly lowering his/her Hp.

"Toriel, stop! You're hurting y/n!" I yelled but Toriel only takes a deep breath as she held her head high.

When she was about to hit her flames at y/n, I ran in front of y/n and used myself as a shield to protect him/her from the flames, I could feel my Hp lowering. As we continued the battle, each time a ball of flame would try to hit y/n I would run up to him/her and receive the pain in order to protect my son/daughter.

y/n POV

When Toriel's turn was over, dad kneeled down exhaustedly and fell to the ground. We both gasped, I held my breath... I wasn't sure if dad was breathing or not until a blue heart showed up, it was slowly breaking and when it cracked in two it slowly lost its colors and faded. I looked at Toriel, her face showed shock and horror; she had tears in her eyes threating to come out.

"What was that? What just happened?!" I asked in confused of why she was crying. Toriel didn't answered my questions, she only dropped to her knees as she sobbed heavily. "Dammit cow, just tell me what happened! As simple as that! Please..."

Toriel looked at me with sad eyes, "I'm not a cow... I'm a goat monster."

"I don't care what you are but please, tell me what that heart was?" I pleaded, Toriel looked down. "That was his soul, I just killed him... all I wanted is to protect you two." She cried, I stayed silent. Dad is... dead? No, it can't be. Hot tears fell from my eyes, I hid my face with my hands so that Toriel wouldn't see me like this, I then felt her fluffy hands on my shoulders trying to console me but I shoved them away.

"You really are a MONSTER! Don't put your hands on me!" I yelled at her in disgust making Toriel cry even more.

"I am sorry y/n, it was not my intention to kill him," I look away from her," but... if it makes you feel better you can kill me, you have the right to do so." My eyes widen, I quickly looked at her, "What?" I whispered.

"Please just kill me, absorb my soul so by the time you get to Asgore's castle. You'll just run past him and you could easily get through the barrier without fighting him!'' she cried

My eyes widen, is she really going to give me her soul?!

Should I...

A. kill her

Or

B. Spare her

If A.)

I looked at her and nodded my head. I kneeled down as I slowly moved his body to the side. I unleash his belt from his hips and tightly wrap it on my arm meanwhile Toriel looked at me in surprise; wondering on how I would kill her. As I finish wrapping it, I pulled out the sharp tongue of the belt as I took a deep breath and exhale when I motion the tongue directly at her.

"Bye, Toriel. Forgive me." I mumble as I shove the sharp tongue unto her abdomen and torso, I repeated this over and over again that I even lost my count. Surprisingly no blood sprang from her body as she laid down lifelessly on the ground; her white fur began to disintegrate into dust leaving her clean blue robe and soul as a symbol of her existence. Quickly, I grabbed and absorbed her soul before it end up broken like my dad's soul.

I sadly looked down at the pile of dust and the corpse of my dad but deep down in my head I know that I'm certainly doing the right thing, dad and Toriel wanted me to leave the underground in one piece and that's exactly what I'm doing. I wiped away the tears from my face and pushed the heavy doors leaving the Ruins behind.

(A week later)

Admiring the sunset as I swing my legs back and forth at the top of Mt Ebott. I quietly hum to myself until I received a text from Sans asking me if I reached to the surface, I smiled to myself as I began to recollect all the wonderful memories that I had in the underground. When Sans first encounter me outside of the Ruins, he along with his brother took me in and started treating me as their little sibling, also he scolded me when I told him about Toriel but he also admitted that it was very wrong from her to force us to stay with her for eternity and for killing my dad.

I remember when I was on my way to Asgore I found Sans waiting for me at the Judgement Hall. He tried to convince me to stay with him along with his brother, saying that we'll be a complete family together and that I no longer need to face Asgore on my own; but as always my answer was still a no.

Sans sadly nodded and stated if I need any help from him I could gladly bother him from his break, I understand that he is just trying to lighten the mood but I know that deep down he was trying his best not to cry.

I stood up and stretched myself making my back pop a little; I took one small glance at the view of the sunset. How am I going to explain to my mom and my dad's boyfriend that he passed away? I can't just tell them that a monster invited us to her house and then later attacked us from trying to get back home. Releasing a deep sigh; I took out my phone and dialed Sans's number to help me think of an excuse.

But nobody answered.

If B.)

I look at Toriel, why would she ever say that. That is suicide!

"No." I glared at her, Toriel choked on her tears. "No?" she asked.

"No, Toriel. I won't kill you even if you offer your soul to me just to ease my pain it won't bring my dad to life." Toriel desperately wipe her tears but the more she cleans them the more tears escape from her eyes. "No... with my soul you can get out of the under-"

"Toriel. That's enough, a no is a no. I won't and I don't want to kill you. It's a sin taking the life of one person especially if they didn't do no harm." I wiped away the tears from my face and pushed the heavy doors leaving the Ruins and a broken monster behind.

(A week later)

Admiring the sunset as I swing my legs back and forth at the top of Mt Ebott, I look up and smile at my friends. It is nice to have some company, and then I locked eyes with Toriel. She smiled; her eyes were full with hope when she saw me, eager for me to return a smile. My smiled slowly turn into a frown as I immediately look away just like she did to Asgore.

I began to recollect the moment when we were at the barrier before Asriel appeared. When I was about to thrust the rusty old knife on his chest a ball of flame immediately knocked Asgore out of the battle.

"What miserable, horrifying and NASTY creature torturing such an innocent youth." I gasp in surprise, I totally did not expect Toriel to come here and save me from her ex-husband.

"Do not be afraid young one. It is I, Toriel-"

"Toriel, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to stay at home in the Ruins and take care of the flowers that 'we' landed?" I crossed my arms as I glared at her. I was waiting for her to look down at the ground in shame but in a blink of an eye, she engulf me in an embrace; her breasts landed on my throat making me harder to breathe. "Y/n please forgive me, I know what I did was wrong but could you please, please give me a second chance to settle this?"

I took a couple of deep breaths as I force myself to look at her in the eye. "Toriel, I... accept your apology, I understand that you were trying to protect us from danger but you've gone too far." I move away from the hug while offering my hand to her as a peace of offering, Toriel smiled at me as her furry hand met mine.

When Asgore woke up his eyes went wide after seeing his 'wife' right in front of him talking to the human that he was going to slay. He immediately got up and run towards Toriel with a huge smile on his face.

"Tori! You came back!" Asgore gleam with happiness.

"Do not Tori me, Dreemur!" she snarled

Oh boy.

So everybody gathered together, Flowey took all the souls revealing himself as Asriel and you know the story.

At the surface Papyrus took the role of becoming the ambassador of the monsters. I denied the offer because I wasn't ready to take that huge responsibility. Toriel wanted to adopt me as her child but I immediately declined the offer and told her that I already have a mom. Sans and Papyrus took me back home along with Toriel to help me talk to my mom about dad and my whole adventure in the underground.

...

.

Toriel was condemned for 24 years in prison for committing murderer and forcing a child to stay with her in the Ruins thus resulting kidnapping.
