A soft gentle hum escaped past Malena's soft and gentle lips. The radio hummed along with a soft and gentle song

White lips
Pale face
Breathin' in snowflakes
Burnt lungs
Sour taste

She sighed softly as she placed the porcelain dish down onto the drying rack. She glazed upon the sky as it swirled with the soft amber hue of an afternoon sky dipped in a lilac and bubble gum pink color that swirled along where the night sky would soon creep.

Lights gone
Day's end
Struggling to pay rent
Long nights
Strange men

She glanced at the clock as it silently ticked away. Surely she'd have enought time, just for a quick visit. She smiled at the thought of the girl's face when she saw her best friend coming to visit her. She dried her hands and softly exhaled.

And they say
"She's in the Class A Team! Stuck in her daydream!"

She glanced at her sister who laid tiredly on the couch, sleeping with a few twitches now and then. She smiled fondly before grabbing her keys and heading out the door.

"Been this way since eighteen."

She clicked the roof of her mouth before looking at the flowers that stood upon her garden. Lavender's and Snapdragon's. Of course, how could she forget, she always brought the bubbly girl her favorite flowers! She smiled to herself as she drove to the flower shop right next to where her friend lived.

But lately

She chose out the most healthiest ones there were with the most vibrant colors before paying for them and heading out the door to walk off towards her friends now home.

Her face seems
Slowly sinking, wasting

Malena blew a strand of hair out of her face as she walked along that same grassy plain filled with flowers and stuffed animals and everything you could've ever dreamed of was there.
And then.

She stopped.

Crumbling like pastries
And they scream

"The worst things in life come free to us...." she gently whispered as gentle tears rolled down her cheeks.
