Anniversary Present

*In Minecraftia time, set around the time Sjin made Chilli Wowas on his farm. So Ridge is an immortal, and Xephos is a space man who crash landed on Minecraftia.*

Ridgephos

I run around the kitchen, trying to put the finishing touches on the big anniversary breakfast for Ridge. I put the last of the pancakes on the table, doing a quick once over when I hear the door to our room open.

I step into the hallway, stopping the demi God from entering the kitchen.

"Happy anniversary, honey." Ridge wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me in for a slow kiss. A few minutes we break apart.

"As much as I want to just do that all day, I made you breakfast." I entertwine our fingers and pull him into the kitchen.

"Oh, you made me pancakes!" He quickly sits down and starts eating. I laugh, and pour us each a cup of tea.

"I wanted to start the day that marks five years together with your favorite breakfast. Your present will be here tomorrow, sorry. Simon has been making me work extra hard recently."

"Don't worry, darling." I think Ridge says, his mouth full of pancakes. I smile at him over the rim of my tea. "Thank you, Xephos. You have made the last five years the best I've ever had. And I've been alive for quite a while."

I laugh. "I'm sure you tell everyone that." I mean it as a joke, but the look Ridge is giving me tells me he doesn't see it that way.

"I've never felt like this before," He says quietly. He looks up at me. "I've always been afraid of getting too close, but then you came along, and I knew that it was worth it." We smile, our eyes glistening.

I stand up and walk over to him. He does the same. We stand there for a few minutes, in each others arms. "I love you," I finally whisper.

"I love you too, Xeph."

His lips meet mine again and I smile against his lips.

"As much as I would love to just sit here with you, we actually are going somewhere for your present." He winks.

"So when are you going to tell me where we are going?" I ask some time later. We are currently flying through the air, in the direction of Sjin's farm.

"I will tell you over lunch." Is all he says.

When we arrive at Sjin's farm, I can't help but laugh. "You brought me here to work?"

"No. Sjin has decided to be nice and is going to make us a nice lunch before the big surprise." We walk up the red stairs and Sjin opens the door.

"Ello, and welcome to ze Chilli Wowas!" He says in his terribly fake accent.

"We both know that isn't how you talk, Sjin." I smirk.

"What? No- no!" He laughs. "So, table for two?" We nod. "Inside or outside?"

"Uh, outside please." Ridge says.

Once we are seated and after Sjin takes our order, Ridge speaks up.

"Is this alright so far?"

"It's perfect, Ridge. Thank you." I put my hand over his and smile.

"Okay, good. I really hope you like your present. And if you don't I will understand."

Before I have time to ask what he means, Sjin comes with our food. "Here ze go, sirs! Call if ze need something," He walks away, laughing.

We start eating in silence. "How's your food?" I ask.

"It's a bit warm," We laugh.

"Only the spiciest at Sjin's farm."

"A bit too spicy, if you ask me." He jokes.

We fall into a comfortable silence as we finish our food.

"Thank you Sjin, that was quite a pleasant lunch." Ridge says, paying him.

"Any time! Please, tell your friends!" He calls out as we leave.

"Thank you, Sjin!" I call out. Ridge wraps his arms around my waist and we are off into the air.

We fly in silence, only because when you are flying that fast you can't hear yourself think. I snuggle against Ridge and find myself drifting off. . .

When I wake up the sky is a dull purple. I look around, and notice we are at the old Jaffa Factory.

We fly past it, slowly. I look at the rubble, thinking of the great times we had here. This is where I first met Ridgedog, right over there at the non existent Jaffa Cafe. It has been eaten by dirt and nature. I look up at the face of the now bankrupt company, most of the face missing, all the lights burnt out long before.

Ridge continues past the factory, heading in the general direction of where Baked Bean Fort used to lay. He brings me to the house he built when he was trying to get to the moon.

"I will explain tomorrow. We can have a week long anniversary." Ridge says, bumbling around making some stew while I sit at the table.

"But Honeydew-"

"Has been informed. You have a full week off, starting tomorrow. Which will be exactly what we need." He turns to me and winks.

"Ridge?"

"Hmm?"

"Thank you," I get up and hug him from behind.

"I wouldn't thank me just yet, Xeph." He turns around and rests his head against mine. "I don't know how you are going to react to this, and I am honestly terrified."

"Ridge, as long as I'm with you, I don't care." I blush slightly, not usually being the sappy one.

I tip my head up and he meets my lips eagerly.

We break apart for air, and I reluctantly step away, heading back over to my spot at the table. "We can't do that if I starve to death."

"I really wanna make a joke right now." He brings over two bowls of stew and we talk about nothing.

"We have to get up early tomorrow, so we need to go to bed early." Ridge says after everything is cleaned up and we are laying together on his bed.

"Mmm," I say, already half asleep. "I love you, Ridgedog. No matter what happens. . ."

'.~.~.'

I wake up and reach out, upset when I find the other side of the bed cold. I grumble as I get up, mad that Ridge isn't there. It is a very rare occasion that Ridgedog is awake before I am.

"Ridge?" I call out, trying to locate him.

I find him standing outside, looking up at the sky. I join him, our arms automatically wraping around each other.

"Are you ready for your big surprise?" He asks.

I nod.

"Xephos, you are going home."
