Who is it?
Eritria's POV
"My queen," the Qanarah muttered under that small mouth of her that formed into a smile.
I stood there while looking at her with no hint of joy in my grey-eyes that are now glaring at her.
She quickly knelt down and bowed her head. "I'm sorry for the disrespectful greeting my queen," she said as the frigid air make the curtains dance while the commotion down there is still loud and clear up here.
But the sound echoed in my ears because of the tumultuous thudding of her heart beat while her face, rigid with tension.
"Why are you here?" I said as my apathetic voice echoed in the empty hallway.
And a small playful grin formed in her lips while her bloodshot eyes meets mine.
"M said that we should welcome guests," she said while snickering.
"This is all bullshit what the hell are they doing down there?" I while hearing those words that made my eyebrow arch.
"Actually-" she said when I cut her off while telling her to stop. A woman entered in the vicinity of my invisible en. Because any entity that enters in my range, I would always be informed what they look like, what they do and even the exact location where they are at the moment.
"They're here, probably looking for you," I said while glancing outside. The little girl is now trembling, knowing the end for her is getting nearer.
Since the woman is getting closer, I grabbed her little wrist and drag her towards the window.
"Listen to me," I mumbled while cupping her little face with both of my hands.
"You're still young, you still can punish thousand of souls for their sins. You can still spread pain to everyone. For that's our job, Because through pain people see the value of joy," I said while looking directly at her bloodshot eyes where I can see through, the fragile girl wishing to be loved.
Her footsteps are getting closer.
I gently swift my hands on her cheek. And covered her using my two hands while appreciating the beautiful scenery of the forest, where birds song can shine and sunlight can sing to the soul, all as the rich canopy creates a calming kaleidoscope upon this view.
"Live," I said while slowly opening my hands and letting the little creature slip in my hand while flapping her wings of black and gold, the colors blending and swirling as playful waves upon night sands.
A butterfly; she is the life amid so much sky. She swims into the air, letting it eddy beneath her wings, curling in the sweetest of swirls. I watch her pass, fast despite her erratic path, choosing her direction by a silent serenade of the blooms.
But of course every decision I make just ends up to nothing.
As that sharp piercing wooden arrow flew across the air towards that wonferful butterfly.
Pain. Why? Do I always feel this? I asked myself while my eyes follows the butterfly fall down to the ground while that arrow pierced through her.
I can't believe awhile ago it was just happily flapping her wings.
I quickly glance in the shit that fired the arrow.
"Zuleika, with her sweet shitty smile," I muttered under my breath while hiding in the curtains.
Smiles.
Zuleika and Edmund are smiling from afar while Gwen is heading towards her. My little Qanarah.
And grabbed the arrow that pierced through her freedom.
Their eyes went upwards looking at my direction.
Should I hide?
Nope, I said to myself while deciding to let them see me. I don't fucking hide like a lamb in a predator. Because I never back down.
Their smiles even got wider while I felt my piercing grey eyes glistened brightly, cold and metallic, rivalling the most excellently polished suit of armour. The sclerae that surrounded them were pristine. They were pure. They were intense, coming from that fire that I make sure burned deep within their souls.
I also give them my sly smile while they are waving their hands but my cold careless smile quickly passed into a cold stare of lion-like disdain.
"Σύντομα είναι η σειρά σας," I said that made their petty smiles fade in their innocent-like faces.
Before the tension grew bigger a the woman finally reached my location.
"Why are you still here? Evacuate immediately in the gymnasium," she said with her calm voice. I turned to look at her, "I got lost finding my mate, I'll immediately head down to the gymnasium," I said without glancing back in the window.
I'm Eritria and I would always be the one that will have the last laugh at the end. A small grin formed in my lips while those words are going through my mind.
"Soon, it's your turn".
Right now were gathered here in the gymnasium.
Luckily were not suffocated here since the gymnasium is so big and well ventilated.
While I'm here scanning the whole area, hoping to see Thunder. But as I search and search through the seas of students sitting in the elevated benches there was no sign of him. "That made me anxious that maybe Thunder isn't..." I mumbled when suddenly a hand grabbed my shoulder and turned me to it's direction.
"Eri! Why did you let go of my hand?" he said as I can't help to let out a laugh since he looks so wasted in his disheveled white hair, his uniform that is already a mess and a missing pair of shoe.
"Why are you laughing at me Eri?" he said with confusion.
I just grabbed his arm and led him in the upper benches since there are still unoccupied spaces there.
"It's really unusual that you laugh Eri," he said but I just ignored it and let him seat first while I took out my handkerchief and started wiping off the sweat and dirt to his face.
"You don't want me to laugh?" I asked while fixing his hair using my hand.
"Nah, it's music to my ears in the middle of chaos," he said while fixing his uniform.
I have no words to say that's why I keep my mouth shut before unnecessary words slip into it.
While I'm drinking the water Thunder gave me, Mr. Levi got up in the stage with his microphone on.
"Since all of you are here right now we just want to inform and announce some urgent matters about the commotion awhile ago," Mr. Levi said with his tired face and deep black eyes scan through us.
"And the Director is here to explain everything to all of you, please welcome the Director of our school," Mr. Levi announced as a man in his 40's showed up while walking towards the stage.
A man about 6'3 tall with his silvery-blue hair is in a perpetually messy state. He has indeterminate green eyes with specks of gray or bordeaux-colored. He has fair skin and has a fairly muscular build.
He wears a white yukata with a blue swirl pattern on the bottom and at the end of the sleeves, worn so that his arm only goes through the left sleeve and the right half droops down over his obi. Over this he wears a black belt buckled so that there is leftover dangling from the buckle, from which his bokutō. Underneath, he wears a black red-lined shirt with a popped collar and black pants. He also wears knee-high black boots.
So I'm right. He's not our teacher.
But the goddamn Great Creator which is the director.
Why the heck didn't I recognize him back then? I stupidly asked myself.
The new students like me started to create noise everywhere since its the first time they met him.
"Silence," he said with his cold baritone voice.
A one word that made the whole gmynasium fall into an omnimous brittle silence.
"Good," he said while Mr. Levi bowed to him and left the stage under the director's hands.
"A pleasing afternoon to everyone of you my dear students".
"As you just witnessed our school was just been attacked by a belephoghor," he said while fire litted in his finger forming a monster which is the belephogor.
"The belephoghor is the body while inside of it is a Qanarah which is the brain," he said while illustrating a little girl using fire with his left hand.
"Usually Qanarahs doesn't leave it's body since it's going to be a more useless monster, but today what happened is that the Qanarah left it's body for no reason and went running to our buildings, which is quite surprising," he said while the little girl formed into fire starts to go away with the belephoghor.
"Yes, Qanarahs looks like a fragile girl but never judge a book by it's cover my dear students. Since just a swift touch to it can kill you. For Qanarah's bodies are made of a deadly poison that makes all of your blood vessels pop making every single ounce of your blood come out," he said that made goosebumps to everyone.
"But 3 students shot an arrow to it, and what's more surprising is it turned to a butterfly which was never an ability of it, quite a mystery," he said while making a flying butterfly made of fire.
"But what's more mysterious is how did these monsters successfully entered our university without being hit by our guns scattered everywhere in the woods or making the alarm blare? Why why why?" he said slowly while acting to think of it.
"It's because someone in our school opened a portal... connecting to the underworld," he announced that made the tension in the air more thicker.
"My friend is already looking for the portal," he said flashing a smile in us.
"Now, who might it be?" he said while scanning us with his emerald eyes with excitement.
Other's POV
I sipped my chamomile tea while setting my eyes amid the starlight was the ever glow of the moon, that mother of the sky whom watched over every beating heart, steady and true.
"Bathed in the light of the sun, the moon was more beautiful than even the stars around," I said while my eyes landed to her friends.
"Right Minerva?" I interrupted her in sipping her hibiscus tea in her special tea cup touched with a hue of golden. She even said that a man named Napoleon Bonaparte used this around the year 1781.
"The half moon shows a face of plaintive sweetness
Ready and poised to wax or wane;
A fire of pale desire in incompleteness,
Tending to pleasure or to pain:-
Lo, while we gaze she rolleth on in fleetness
To perfect loss or perfect gain.
Half bitterness we know, we know half sweetness;
This world is all on wax, on wane:
When shall completeness round time's incompleteness,
Fulfilling joy, fulfilling pain?-
Lo, while we ask, life rolleth on in fleetness
To finished loss or finished gain".
"Christina Rossetti once said," she said as she continues to sip in jer tea.
"What are you trying to say?" I asked as I flipped the hourglass again to make sinners pay their sins in a much creative way.
Just by thinking that a small smile formed in my lips as I lifted my arm to welcome the lovely vulture.
"I'm trying to say the The half moon shows a face of plaintive sweetness, Sjel," she stated while petting her owls beside her in the branch.
"The queen shall not love, till the sun grows cold and the stars grow old," Minerva said that made me look at her deep eyes flooded with the tiniest kiss of sun had caused her to pause and encapsulate into a state of mystification flecks of gold scattered through her iris.
"For the pain has an element of blank; it cannot recollect
When it began, or if they were
A day when it was not".
"It has no future but itself,
Its infinite realm contain
Its past, enlightened to perceive
New periods of pain".
"The queen already had enough," she said while still petting her beloved owls.
"Stop her before the pain worsen, retrieve the sword and protect her to the enemies before they reached to her to dance in the fire," she stated the commandment as I engrave it in my mind.
"Then I shall join Tjelo there," I said with a grin plastered in my face knowing the party will get started.
