Eritria's POV

"Why do you have my promise ring?" I asked her while I can't help to be saddened knowing it must've shocked her like hell.

"I'm s-sorry, I d-didn't intend that to h-happen," she said with her shaking voice and immediately pass through me and left.

I would want to follow her but I need to prioritize clementine's situation first.

And today Emma didn't attend the class. Again.

It's been two days since Emma saw a glimpse of my past. Clementine tapped my shoulder, "She's not here again Astra," she said with worriedness seen in her emerald eyes. Yes, the good news is Clementine already recovered her mana.

Emma locked herself in their dorm and wouldn't let us come through. Norman also told us to give Emma more time to process and recover.

Just how did she found out the ring...

Those were the thoughts across my mind while eating here in the cafeteria.

"Hey, is there something troubling you?" Thunder said while letting me sip in his precious chocolate drink, he even said that I must be honored I am the only one he shares his chocolate drink.

After I gulped the lump in my throat, I won't ever lie to thunder I said to myself while looking directly in his magnificent eyes that never failed to look at me with care, and I won't get tired complimenting his eyes.

"Emma accidentally saw my past," I answered truthfully while Thunder's eyes widened in the shocking reason why Emma is locking herself up.

"Then why..." he said but chose to just shut his mouth. And stop the growing curiosity in his head.

"Ok, I won't ask anymore but I hope everything will go well between you two," he said while continued eating his fried chicken.

To be honest I don't even know how to approach her...

We got back to our dorm when I noticed a note in the countertop of our kitchen, I quickly glance to thunder that is currently doing our assignment. I don't wanna bother him in his studies so I quickly unfold the paper containing Emma's words.

    Eri, I'm here at the rooftop hoping to talk to you.

                                             Emma,

I glance at my wristwatch, It's already 5:00 I think I can still get there before our curfew.

I head towards the elevator and pressed the highest floor. While waiting for the elevator to open, I can't help to be nervous. What might she think and say about my past? Will she distance herself in me? Will this be the crack in our friendship? those were the questions that keep popping in my mind when the elevator stopped giving me the signal that I'm finally at my destination.

I took my first step and reach for the door.

"Well, this is the only way to find out..." I mumbled as I finally turned the knob.

And there was Emma standing at the center with her Bright orange hair that also reflects her character so friendly, bubbly, and full of positivity. She turned to make me see those green-eyes
that's like the hue of the new spring growth, bright and soft all at once. There where flecks of strength, That color of the forest after it rains. Their lightness reminded me of summertime when the sun-rays warmed each extended leaf.

But they were no longer the bright, sparkling emerald since that day. She also has these dark circles beneath her eyes, it was like she hasn't slept and seems to have nightmares.

This is all my fault...

"Eri," she said while rushing towards me and gave me that suffocatingly affectionate hug.

"I'm sorry for being immature and lock myself up for two days like a stupid girl, I'm not even the one who experienced that past. Yet I can't help to cry it all out," she said while I finally felt drops of tears land in my shirt, still hugging me.

"Who the hell are they to do that to you! They are all immoral heartless people," she said with her wobbly voice.

She finally looks at me while her hands are in my shoulder, "Don't worry Eri you can rely at me, you can shout it all, I'm here I'm willing to listen," she sincerely said without breaking our eye contact. And with that, I just hugged her tightly that made her taken back.

All I can do is hug her, I still can't, I shouldn't make anyone feel hurt for me. I don't wanna trouble them with my past.

My past is yet to be told...

"Thank you Emma, all I need is your hug," I said while giving her a reassuring smile.

And then suddenly the door opened making me see their so-called 'angry faces'.

"Why didn't you two informed us about this?!" Cascade trying to act like she was betrayed.

"Yeah, you're leaving us behind!" Clementine said while trying to be angry.

I do have adorable friends.

"Oh c'mon guys stop the act we just cleared something," Emma said while giving them a smile.

"Let's drop the angry act Cascade let's just have fun," Clementine said while giving us hugs.

"Well then since it's already night time I bet you haven't had dinner," Cascade said

"That's why we brought snacks for you guys!" Clementine said while her eyes sparkles and her voice is full of excitement.

"And of course I wouldn't be Cascade Rouséa if I'm not naughty," she said with a grin plastered in her face while bringing out a bottle of whiskey.

"Ooh la la let's have fun girls!!" Emma said like we will turn the rooftop in a bar with disco balls.

We laugh, drink, dance, and then drink again till all of them are getting The hit of the whiskey.

And of course, I'm responsible for these naughty wild careless girls. And if you're wondering why I'm still up? It's because ordinary alcohols don't affect me much.

There is one word in my mind they are drunk. Their body coordination isn't cooperating that's why they tend to be clumsy at times like these, slurry speech and weakened balance but still they don't stop drinking. Well if you think I'll stop them, No.

I know that from the start they know this is what they'll end up in the end, they know their responsibilities in themselves too. So don't look down on those three girls.

I'm here at the edge of the rooftop while looking deeply at the yellow ball of fire changed to hues of orange, and then almost tangerine. It merged with the sky, like juice-mix dissolving in a glass of water. The clouds were cotton-candy, as though they blushed at the warm touch of the sun. Silhouettes of birds flew home across a sky that was now magenta.

I felt the three by my side settling themselves at the edge.

"No, don't sit here it's too dangerous," I said with no hint of a joke in my voice.

"Eri, it's ok we can handle ourselves," Cascade stated.

"You do know that this is a 7 storey building and this height is no joke so go back there ok?" I said.

"We won't do anything stupid," they said in unison while those eyes are pleading at me.

I just sighed, I won't ever gonna win on them. "Fine," I bitterly said while focusing my eyes in the setting sun again.

"Eri you know we aren't clueless on what happened that day, right?" Cascade asked while her crimson eyes are also glued to the magnificent sun that is bidding its goodbye.

"What's your past Eri?" Clementine fired the question I would just want to forget.

Silence.

"Seems like your still not ready..." Cascade said while passing me the bottle of whiskey. I quickly gulped the remaining liquid in it while the heat stroked in my throat.

"It's ok, sometimes you just don't wanna dig out your past again," Clementine said.

"Well, I'll be willing to tell you mine," Clementine said.

"Actually my right eyes can make your death sentence in an instance, my father used me, he made me a killer machine in his enemies. Thousand of people died in my gaze. All it takes is 5 seconds to kill a person using my right eye. And then a lone tear escaped her emerald eyes that gaze to nowhere. We were all shocked knowing a sweet young lady was used to kill hundreds of people.

"Ok then let's spill it all tonight," Cascade said.

"I was always ordered to infiltrate into organizations and spill all their blueprints for easy access for robbery, their weaknesses, plans even torn down their relationships. But one day I was assigned to a boy which will be our next target all I know is to shapeshift into his lover for 4 months. I thought it will just be simple, but me always being stupid, I fell in love," she said with pain reflects on her crimson eyes. I never thought those fierce eyes can turn into a mellow fire.

I can't take it anymore...

These sudden revelations are just so cruel...

"You didn't know that my ability doesn't stop in seeing past right?" Emma said while we were all shocked while Cascade even left her mouth ajar and the three of us glance into her waiting for an explanation.

"I can travel in the past and change itself for a better future, what a nice trip right?" she said but just all of us, sadness is seen through her eyes as well.

"I never knew that every time I go back in the past, my memories in the present are slowly fading away," she said while she can't stop to hold those tears that starting to race down in her face.

"But you know what hurts the most?" she said while nearly sobbing as we hold her hand, hugs her just to let her know that its ok to let it all out because we'll gladly listen.

"That my memories will fade for just a specific someone," 

"My love..." she said while crying onto my shoulders.

"I-i forgot all of our memories, his hugs, his k-kisses, our own l-lovely world whenever he's around it was all w-wiped out," she said while she can't stop to stutter and her tears won't stop falling.

I never knew behind there lovely smiles, they were just like me.

It's just that their way to hide it is through their smiles.

Now they are looking at me with those beads of tears in their eyes, "What's your past Eri?"

"My past isn't really something..." I said as I can't stop looking at the setting sun.

"It's just purely torment, broken promises, and love that's forbidden in their eyes," while finally having the courage to look at their eyes.

Cascade first recovered, "My god our past could actually be novels and be a qualified fairytale story," And just like that Cascade successfully lifted the heavy atmosphere that is now filled with laughter.

"You really can't be silly Cascade," Clementine said between laughing.

I'm glad they are laughing again I'm glad somehow they shift their attention away in their own cruel past.

"But let's be serious girls I just want all of you to know that, if you ever need me, I'll be there. It doesn't matter what time of the day it is, I'll always have time for you guys," Emma said that made my heart melt more.

"Call me. If you're sad, I'll make it my mission to cheer you up. Feel like crying? I'll gladly wipe away those tears," Clementine said while flashing her smile that was always genuine.

"Need a laugh?, then I'm your person. No matter what problem you may have, just know that you're not facing them alone," Cascade while looking right into our eyes.

"Just know that I will be right there beside you," I sincerely said.

"We'll face them together," we said in unison like we only have one mind.
