Eritria's POV

I was waken up by the loud noise of our classmates.

I glanced at my watch, so it's already been 4 hours.

We're currently here in the school bus without having no idea where will go.

"Goodmorning!" Thunder said while his gray eyes are looking at me with love and care. Then it came all back to me when we are at the resort, I just can't believe that those lovely eyes could be emotionless and glare at you like a predator.

I just averted my gaze just to see that we are already in a rural city with trees that are slightly swayed by the refreshing wind, no chemicals or any sign of pollution away from the big crowd city. How I miss the countrysides.

Were currently heading towards a mountain, all I know is we are at Luzon the upper part of the Philippines.

"Eri, here drink some water I bet you're already thirsty," he said while taking off the lid of the bottle containing mineral water and handing it to me.

I accepted it for he was right I'm totally thirsty since this trip started.

After being refreshed by the water I glanced at thunder, "Do you have any idea where we are heading?" I asked him that made him stop from tapping his phone.

"I also don't know, Ma'am Lovien announced this after the swimming party," he stated.

And at that time Cascade asked Ma'am Lovien who is casually eating her muffin at the front.

"Ma'am, where exactly are we going? And we already haved a vacation yesterday so why are we heading into another one?" Cascade asked.

"Hmm, since were already near at our destination i'll explain everything" she said.

"Don't worry this would be our last outing for this month, it will take another month to make the director give us the permission to go outside again. So enjoy while it lasts," she said.

"You do know that loving and embracing our culture is a must. This trip would also be a part of your history class, you'll live like the old days to remind you to appreciate what we have today because of the past".

"And when I tell you we will live like in the past, believe me you'll actually experienced and realize the worth of everything you have today," Ma'am Lovien explained with her signature grin plastered in her face.

Oh well, this would be a long day.

And just like Ma'am Lovien said, we arrived in a resort? I guess.

As my eyes travelled to this nostalgic sorrounding.

With all the ancient houses called "bahay kubo" and wells near it, they even have a garden where you can pick up vegetables which is very organic. With all these different kind of trees where you can get any tropical fruit you like from palm trees, Banana trees, Mango trees even avocado trees everything here is a source of food!

As soon as we entered, all of our gadgets were taken even our clothes were changed into Baro't saya while the boys have a camiso de chino with a red handkerchief in their neck while for the lower they have red trousers.

*Baro't saya evolved from two pieces of clothing worn women in the pre-colonial period of the Philippines: the baro (also barú or bayú in other Philippine languages), a simple collar-less shirt or jacket with close-fitting long sleeves; and the tapis*

* The camiso de chino with red scarf over red pants, typically worn by Filipinos who had to work under the heat of the sun

While our shoes were replaced with 'bakya' for us girls and 'tsinelas' for the boys.

Well, Ma'am Lovien's words are truly as it is.

We'll live like in the past...

And soon after we change outfits, we were designated to our own kubo.

Everything is made of bamboos which is quite new for me while our bathroom is outside at the left part of the kubo.

"This is quite a trip right?" He said while also checking out the furnitures inside.

I can't help to notice how he actually looks good in everything he wear even though it's just a plain shirt. Well these past few days I think I'm getting weirder.

"By the way Ma'am Lovien announced that we would prepare our own lunch for today. The equipments are all prepared in the kitchen while we can pick vegetables and fruits outside," Thunder explained.

I quickly checked the kitchen which is right next to the living room.

It has this Furnace, wooden cooking utensils even a 'palayok' which is used as a pot at the old days.

"Ok, but let's eat breakfast first, There's a Kalamay at the table," I said as I walk towards the dining area.

*Kalamay, is a sticky sweet delicacy that is popular in many regions of the Philippines. It is made of coconut milk, brown sugar, and ground glutinous rice*

"Eri, if you don't me me asking..." he said as look at him, "What?" I asked.

"What's your reason to enter in this kind of school?" He said as his grey eyes look at me with curiosity in it.

"It's a secret," I honestly said.

He don't need to know that...

And just like that a flash of pain was seen in his eyes. "Ok, I won't ask anymore," he said with a smile and already put the empty plate on the sink.

"Ok, i'll just head out to cut some woods for the furnace," he said as he finally head outside.

I just really can't tell him...

Secrets I keep within my soul shall never be spoken...

As soon as I finished cleaning, I check out thunder at the big window at the front. Well if you didn't know, houses in the Philippines were made with big windows for better ventilation for back on those days there are no electricity. No aircon not even a fan. So we must appreciate everything we have today and don't take too much advantage of it.

He is currently topless as he cut down woods, with beads of sweat all over his body. Back then boys do the heavy works while women are assigned to cook and take care of their childrens.

While looking at him at this view, I saw three girls passing by while checking him out there are even two girls at the garden picking carrots while drooling at him like there's no tomorrow. I don't know suddenly my blood boils as my brows knitted into a frown while glaring at the bitchy girls.

Well our class aren't the only ones in here.

I just head towards the kitchen and keep cleaning while unconciously mumbling rants. I don't know I'm really getting weirder.

And finally the white head entered with his clothes on this time. "You're going to pick your ingredients in the garden right?" He asked while standing right infront of me.

I didn't answered and just continued cleaning.

"I'll help you," he said as that annoying smile is in his face again.

Well since it's already 10:00 a.m

I just quickly go out while I'm gripping the basket tightly as the scenes earlier flashed back.

"Hey are you mad? Is there something wrong I'ved done?" he asked while catching up to my pace.

Well that's not his fault so...

"What do you want for lunch," I asked to change the topic.

"Really you would cook for me?! he said with excitement in his voice.

"If it's ok I would want Nilaga," he said while scratching the back of his neck.

"Ok then," I said while slowly a smile formed in my lips knowing for the first time i'll cook something that he requested. I don't know I felt excitement in my system.

We picked the ingredients we'll need for the dish in the garden full of different kind of nutritius vegetables and quickly got back to the kubo because were running late it's already 11:00.

As I cook Thunder's head keep on popping at my side while looking intently on what I cook.

"This is the first time I see you cook, because I'm too exhausted when I got a fever to watch you cook that yummy porridge," he said as I glanced at him only to realized he's too close with those killer dimples of his everytime he smiles.

"Just wait there," I said while pushing him away. I don't know it suddenly became hot.

Finally the dish is already finished. Thunder already prepared our plates, yes for today we won't need to share while we're eating. I quickly put it down in the wooden table and opened the lid. Letting out the savory aroma of Nilaga in the palayok.

"This is super delicious like legit, I'm not lying," he said as he stuff so much food in his mouth.

I don't know for me he's cute...

"You'll be a great mom to our ki--" he then stopped when the realization hit him he gulped. "Sorry I got too excited..."

And that's how we ended our lunch with both burning cheeks in our faces.

It was so fun we played so many childhood games, it's fun to be a kid again where your only problem is what you'll gonna play next. This trip is truly refreshing...

I'll truly gonna enjoy this while it still lasts...

And finally I ended the day with a refreshing bath. I am litting up the lamps for there are no electricity when I heard the soft strum of a guitar outside, I absent-mindedly caught myself being drawn to the strange strum of guitar outside. And as I checked it out in the window, Thunder being handsome on his camiso de chino while Norman, Elijah and Lucas are strumming their guitars.

Again I was given a chance to see him sing again.

I already hitted the ground I'ved crashed, deeply drowned, ambushed without a warning. What are you doing to me you white head?

And right after he sing he handed me those beautuful white astilbe flowers. And said the words I'm afraid to face...

"I love you," he said while those eyes never stopped looking at me like I'm the most beautiful girl he ever seen.

I know I'm starting to get cheesy...
But that's how I feel...

He was staring at me like he's waiting for my answer.

But I slowly looked at him with sadness in my eyes.

"No," I said while I'm dissapointed to myself that I can't...

And just like that I saw his grey eyes in pain...

His lovely smile fade away...

"Ok, I guess you're still not ready..."

"It's fine i'll wait..."

"I'll just go to the woods..." he said while leaving knowing I haved hurt him so bad.

Everyone is looking at me right now Emma, Clementine, Cascade even the boys with sadness in their eyes.

I can't their are terrible conseqence if I keep on doing this.

But my heart, tells me to go, follow him, and let myself be happy.

I don't know I found myself running towards the woods...

I want to...

I quickly followed his tracks and welcomed by the thousand of fireflies danced in the night as if choreographed by every joyous memory and dream.

And their I saw him with clasped hands and bowed down head like he is wishing something...

"I want to love him..."

Fuck all the consequences...

I quickly rushed and hug him from behind.

And said the words I'm afraid to let him know...

"Iniibig din kita," I said while hugging him from behind.

And as the fireflies come dancing onto their star-studded stage.

Our hearts became one.
