I've always maintained that there is a connection between a writer and her readers. 

The readers deserve to know what an author is going through. There's a cord that binds us. Especially when we have been bound like this for so long, through many words and chapters. 

So... here's the thing. 

I have to let you know how utterly disrespected one feels when they request a favour from their readers, and they don't listen. 

It takes me hours -- sometimes, 2 - 3 - 4 per chapter. Yet, I still update nearly daily. Many times I go on sprees, and update multiple times a day. 

Why? Because I know you're waiting. I know you've requested it. 

My love is not a transaction, where I give you something and you have to pay me -- I will still love you regardless..., but my rules are.

Your author is requesting to click a button that hardly takes 1 second, when she spends her whole day writing for you sometimes. 

You take 5-10 minutes to read the chapter, but the amount of time it goes into conceiving the idea, planning it, and finally writing it, takes more than days. In fact, this current track I've planned for many months.   

Yet it seems like some of you think you're above clicking on a button. I'm utterly confused.  

If I wasn't requesting you, I wouldn't hold you accountable like this. I've never set targets on my other work. Just on MDMB because of how frequently I update, so that I can see where everyone is at. 

I've seen people who use ideas from my story in quite a detailed way and write it into their own stories, yet they never ever marked their presence here. They haven't given credits or said they were inspired from this book, but I never complained because I don't like drama, and I like to see the best in people. 

But they never vote or comment despite literally taking concepts, and even explanations from this book directly in an eerily similar way. Why?

On the other hand, I've seen people comment on my chapters who don't vote. Why do you do this? Your hand hurts? Your hand doesn't hurt while scrolling, commenting, or clicking open the chapter, but it hurts while pressing that star? 

There have been many times I have been feeling unwell, or my hand has been hurting because I got a burn or a cut, yet I still wrote entire chapters. That's my dedication to my readers. 

I've been lenient for long. Since chapter 259, the stars have been behind but I said let's forget about that and request they vote only from 269, the recent chapters. Still, these requests for votes on recent parts are being ignored. 

There are exams going on. You may be busy. I get it. But among other things, views are the same, even higher at times, yet the ratings are dropping. 

There are some who skip voting on chapters, and only vote on some of them, and it makes me wonder why I go on sprees if my chapters are being ignored? It seems like the in between parts aren't being read. 

It's not like I haven't made it clear? In every chapter I put a reminder up, so if you don't vote despite all of my reminders, it feels like blatant disrespect for an author's request. Or that you don't want the story to go on... then why are you here? Why are you reading or commenting?

I'm genuinely asking. I'm in no way attacking anyone. Please give me an answer if you have one. 

Before, out of 1200-1300 reads I would get 450+ votes. That too, within the day. Now out of 1500 reads, I hardly even get 390. And for those 390 voters who genuinely support me, I have full respect for your respect.

390 voters itself is a lot for me. Before MDMB I didn't know this was possible. 

However, as my updates got more frequent (because of your love), so did my effort. 

And high effort is high stakes. 

I have a full time job, I have many things I do in my day apart from this -- relationships to manage, hobbies, volunteering, research I have to do for many different subjects and things, organizational work, people I speak to and coach who are literally in terrible situations, yet I know where my demand is, and somehow I manage everything, giving 100% to each and every one of these things, including my writing. 

And I STILL MAINTAIN, it's because of my readers love that I have the power to write this much, to post this much... This book has crossed over 620, 000 words, that's greater than trilogies of most novels combined! Yet, we crossed it in 8 months! That's insane, and I GIVE YOU ALL CREDIT for that! Without your support, your love, I would NEVER write this much. Even if this book ends, the journey was possible because of YOU.  

More than my book, I say MDMB belongs to my READERS. 

But I had one request only -- press star to show that you're caught up and are not skipping parts. 

This isn't only a disrespect to me, but a disrespect to my other readers who DO press star, and who are eagerly waiting for more parts.  

I'm not mad or upset. I live in Canada, a place where tipping culture is highly regarded. If you don't tip for services here, it is considered very wrong and disrespectful, and this is tipping with money. 

Nobody is to consider themselves superior in any way to those who give any kinds of services. 

Maybe my influence is due to this... but in a way it is true, if you are consuming someone's entertainment for free, you should leave behind something... even if it's just one click of a button and a kind word. It shows that you are grateful for their efforts and hard work, at the very minimum, and let's them feel appreciated. It's just common courtesy. 

Like I said, I'm so blessed with my readers who have given me all the love in the world.

And it's not about the votes, but about the fact that you're ignoring the simple request from a writer whose content you're reading on a daily basis, free of charge. 

Again, if I updated once a week, or once every two weeks like Soham where the main story has not been completed, or if I haven't requested you, I wouldn't have any expectations like this. 

But I update daily, and the main story that I initially imagined for it, has already been completed for MDMB. It's only thriving because of you. 

Think about it. For someone who updates a story daily, multiple times a day, and you're receiving the entertainment like this on their efforts, is this ignorance from the readers okay? 

I know because I can see the voters. I can see which chapters everyone is skipping, and which chapters they're not. I can see who is commenting and not voting too. 

I posted this because I genuinely want to know... is there something I am missing? Show me the other side because I'm truly confused... If you are reading and enjoying, then why don't you vote? If you are not enjoying, then why read? If you can't answer me, then think about it for yourself at least. 

The reads are there and the votes are not, DESPITE my requests. This is the state of my confusion. WHY are my requests being purposefully ignored? 

About updates, if you get every part from 259 (yes 259 now, not 269 anymore) to 450+ stars, then the next update will come more quickly. 

Otherwise, in a few days I MAY write an epilogue... or maybe I won't. I MAY just write a chapter titled: SUMMARY and summarize this pregnancy track in that, and then write one line that they lived happily ever after and succeeded in all their life goals. 

If you would like more, then go to chapter 259, 261, 264, 266, 269, 270, 271, 272, 273, 274, 275 and vote on them. 

In my spree, I can probably post 3-4 more parts, so vote quickly if you can. If not, then we will wait and there will probably be no sprees. 

Again, I don't want to disturb anyone or make you feel bad, but please think about it. For my genuine readers, who love and support me unconditionally, you don't have to worry. I will do my best to fulfill all of your wishes. 

I know that many of you have asked about my life -- what I do, etc, so I'm thinking of having a Q and A session... maybe I'll go live on Instagram one day, or I'll just write something here about myself for you all. If my readers love and respect me, then I will be moved to put in efforts for them as well, no doubt about it. 

But only if you want to feel a connection to me. Otherwise, my other option is not speaking at all and just writing chapters with no notes... but then there will be no connection between the author and a reader. Connectivity to the source of creativity is a beautiful thing, and I'm saying from the other end as well. As a reader, a viewer, a consumer of entertainment, connecting to the source of ideas is equally, if not more beautiful than the content itself. 

Love others, live in harmony, and observe why you're doing the things you're doing. Introspect, think... wonder. I have always tried to evoke that wonder from within my readers through my stories, to show possibilities beyond their imagination, and to unravel a world which they may not have seen. 

To inspire them to think about things deeply and question in an open-minded way, not judge. 

Thank you for reading, and I apologize for the long note, but I don't want to give anymore justifications/point anything out in any other chapters, so I thought to include it all in one. 

Like I said, I am not interested in drama or conflicts. The moment I feel like this doesn't align with my mental state, I won't think twice about dropping everything and leaving Wattpad. 

So consider this yet another warning. Again, it was never about votes, but about respect. 

Respect your writers when they request something small, free, and not time-consuming from you.

Please don't give advice like ignore. It's not about ignoring, but empowering. If I don't point these things out to my readers, how will they even realize and question some fundamental things they are doing? How will they even begin to think of the reason they're not voting?

It's so much deeper. There are many, many, many layers to things, so don't assume the most superficial meaning at all times. 

This note, may help others treat better those who serve them food, those who deliver their groceries, those call center workers who they call for services. They may help treat the school custodians, volunteer workers, farmers better. Those who literally help you live, grow the food that goes into your belly, and clean the environment for you to live.   

And that was my goal all along, through asking for votes. So that people know when to appreciate, so that the sense of entitlement is lost, and the feeling of being blessed and grateful is born. 

It has always been deeper.
