After Bondita went to sleep that night, Anirudh had another date with his Little Bondita.
He fondly spoke about how strong his Little Bondita's mother was!
He spoke about how much she had endured all this time.
And he got quite emotional, as he expressed that he wished he had been there for her... and not away to Calcutta.
He pressed a soft kiss to Bondita's belly, before climbing back to the top of the bed, and wrapped his arms around Bondita's body again, holding her to him in a warm snuggle.
After all their time apart, he didn't want to spend another second away from her.
--
In the morning, Bondita woke up just in time to get ready for school.
She didn't get enough sleep at all, but school was not something that she was ready to miss!
Bondita glanced at Anirudh, who was sleeping soundly, his arms loosely wrapped around her.
She couldn't help it.
She leaned towards him and kissed his lips gently.
"Mmm Bondita," Anirudh said groggily.
"Go to sleep," she whispered against his mouth.
She wanted to make love to him again! She hadn't had enough! However, she would be late for school, if she kept this up.
"You too," Anirudh murmured, and slowly opened his eyes. "But you seem to have other plans."
Bondita gulped and pulled back slightly.
"Waking me up with a kiss," he said in a deep voice, "Why don't you tell me what you'd like Bondita?" His voice was heavy and seductive.
Bondita just blushed and she whispered, "School. I want to go to school!"
Anirudh was expecting sex as her answer. No not sex. Fuck. He was aware of her language habits.
However, to hear school, he wasn't ready for!
"You haven't had enough sleep to go to school," he told her firmly.
Bondita pouted and glared at him with her cute eyes.
Anirudh sighed and he said, "It's not going to --" work. He couldn't finish, because she had climbed over his naked body and pressed her lips to his, kissing him hungrily.
Anirudh was taken aback, and he responded to her kisses with great desire, his manhood hardening against her legs.
When she broke the kiss to breathe, he managed to breathlessly ask, "Are you trying to get a quickie, missy?"
Bondita smiled with a blush.
"No Pati Babu, I just proved my point."
"What point?" he asked, looking at her with a seductive gaze.
"That you don't really want me to sleep," Bondita said, "So I will go to school!"
Anirudh's mouth fell open, and Bondita climbed off him.
"Bondita!" he yelled, as she rushed into the bathroom to shower.
"Barrister Bondita Roy Choudhary!" she yelled back, making his heart flutter, as she disappeared into the bathroom.
After his initial heartwarming flutter dissipated, Anirudh groaned, and his hardened manhood softened again.
It was like she was taking revenge on all those times that he teased her to the brink of desperation, and then fell back on his self-control!
--
When Anirudh walked Bondita to school that day, he said, "I'll talk to your principal about making special arrangements for the pregnancy."
They were holding hands, and Bondita just glanced at him before asking, "How will they take it at school?"
"I don't know Bondita," Anirudh said honestly, "But we can't leave it, can we? You will need their support."
"What if they get upset?" Bondita asked.
A dark look appeared on Anirudh's face.
"Upset? Who are they to get upset?"
Bondita grinned and she said, "Exactly!"
Anirudh sighed and he said, "Let me talk to him today itself --"
"Pati Babu, maybe I can talk to Jayadrath sir first," Bondita suggested. "He may support me and help with presenting a case to the principal."
Anirudh glanced at Bondita for a moment, and then nodded.
"Alright, but I don't want anyone to take anything out on you," he told her firmly. "If they misbehave with you, or say any harsh things to you, then nobody will be worse than me!"
"They won't," Bondita told him reassuringly.
"And Vikram is there too. He should be taking care of you. He won't let anyone say anything to you," Anirudh agreed with a sigh.
"You have so much faith in Vikram!" Bondita then said, and then she teased, "Sometimes it makes me wonder whether I should be jealous! Do you even trust me that much?"
Anirudh glared at her, and she just giggled. He knew she was pushing his buttons!
He then just said, maintaining his composure, "If you misbehave, then I'll just have to take you back home and lock you in the bedroom."
"Oh yeah?" she teased, bringing her free hand to his arm, and gently caressing it, as he squeezed her hand.
"Then I'll do what I want to you all day long," Anirudh murmured to her. "You won't be able to handle it."
"And if I can?"
"Then I'll have to turn up the heat," he murmured to her softly.
Bondita gasped, "Pati Babu, you're going to make me wet in my school dress!"
Anirudh glanced around at passersby for a moment, and then he leaned closer to her, so he could whisper in her ear, which was free of her braided hair.
"Then let's go home, and I'll make you more wet."
Bondita blushed deeply and she whispered back, "If you let me go to school, then maybe I can give you a snack after school."
"A snack eh?" Anirudh asked her.
"To satisfy your hunger," she teased.
"Then hurry and come home," Anirudh said to her, for they had reached the school premises. "And take care of yourself inside school. If you feel even a little bit sick, ask Vikram to bring you home! Or call me and I'll come."
"Yes Pati Babu," Bondita said with a smile, and then she turned to look at him.
Anirudh just smiled back at her.
"Go and have fun," he then said, finally relaxing a little bit.
She just wrapped her arms around him and hugged him.
"My Battery Babu!" she said happily. "Now I have full charge!"
Anirudh just shook his head, a smile on his lips, as he caressed her hair.
--
After school that day, Bondita went to speak to Jayadrath sir.
Vikram was waiting outside the classroom for Bondita, so that he could drop her home, as per the responsibility that Bondita's Pati Babu had entrusted him with!
"Ji, are you waiting for Bondita?" Mallika asked, approaching him.
Most of the others had gone home.
Batuk and Surabhi were at the end of the hallway, in some kind of deep conversation, and Mallika was pointedly looking away from them, her heart twisting each time her eyes caught sight of them.
"Yeah," Vikram said.
He peered behind Mallika and saw Batuk. He felt bad for Mallika. She really didn't know what she signed up for, falling for Batuk.
He had avoided Batuk all day today again. After the embarrassing fiasco with Manika, where Batuk tried to be some kind of spy, Vikram didn't have the urge to mend things either.
"Not going home?" Vikram asked Mallika.
"Yes, I was planning to. I just thought you could use some company," Mallika explained, shifting slightly on her feet, so she could turn her body a little more towards Vikram, and away from Batuk and Surabhi. She didn't want to see them even from the corner of her vision!
"Oh," Vikram said, "Well, yes, I suppose I could."
"You look disturbed ji," Mallika pointed out, "Is it because of Batuk again?"
Vikram shook his head, and mumbled, "It's nothing."
He had a lot on his mind! Not just disapproval over what Batuk did, but also, he had important questions to ask Bondita's Pati Babu!
He needed romance tips! It was URGENT!
"Nothing?" Mallika asked curiously.
"Well, I was just thinking about... wait -- you can help me Mallika!" Vikram gasped.
Mallika looked surprised to hear this.
"You're a girl! What is romantic to you?" Vikram asked.
"What ji?" Mallika asked, sounding completely bewildered and taken aback.
"Like... if you had a boyfriend, what would you want him to do for you?" Vikram asked.
Mallika couldn't help it. Her mind went to Batuk, and suddenly her cheeks flushed a rosy pink colour.
"B - Boyfriend ji?" she stammered.
"Yes," Vikram said, eyes wide, his head bobbing up and down.
"Well... I... do - don't... know!"
Vikram sighed and dramatically said, "I can't ask Bondita this! She will say her Pati Babu's mere existence is romantic enough for her! I am out of hope now!"
Mallika couldn't help but laugh at Vikram's dramatic turn. "Vikram, were you always so dramatic, or did hanging out with Bondita and Batuk make you this way?"
Vikram thought about it for a moment, but then couldn't help but smile, as he recalled so many of the silly moments he shared with his friends.
Batuk, who had been talking to Surabhi, looked up and noticed Vikram conversing with Mallika. Not just conversing! Both of them were smiling and laughing!
As if they were... BEST FRIENDS!
"Am I replaced already?" Batuk wondered, feeling offended, and somewhere a little hurt.
"What?" Surabhi asked, and turned to glance at Vikram and Mallika.
She just laughed and said, "Batuk, relax, he's only talking to her."
"He's laughing with her like they're best friends," Batuk grumbled, feeling jealous.
"He'll be back to normal in a few days. Just give him some time," Surabhi suggested.
Batuk groaned. Time was what he didn't want to give! He didn't like this answer!
He was Vikram's Sakha! Did Vikram replace him so easily?
"What does he see in Mallika anyways? She doesn't even find me funny!" Batuk said, irritably!
Surabhi reached for his hand and said, "Let's go on a walk."
"But --"
"Hurry and come, before a teacher sees me holding your hand. Then there'll be chaos!"
Batuk groaned again and nodded, following Surabhi out, his head twisting back and glaring daggers at the Mallika who didn't find him funny, and now seemed to be after his best friend too!
Wait...
What if she wasn't after him, just to make a friend?
What if she was after Vikram... because she had a crush on him?
Oh no... no, no, no! He had to save Vikram! Under any circumstance!
"Surabhi, I have to go!" he just said as they stepped outside the school building.
"What?" Surabhi asked, shocked.
"I have to go, bye!"
He didn't say another word to her, and bolted back inside.
Surabhi watched him go, blinking a few times.
"What's wrong with him?" she wondered. "Why doesn't he get it by now, that by meddling like this, he'll look like the villain. Ugh Batuk!"
She smacked her forehead.
She tried. But there was only so much she could do for someone who was not willing to listen!
--
Bondita was nervously standing in front of the old Jayadrath sir, who had risen up from his seat behind his desk, and approached her.
The door was closed, and when the young lady said she'd like to talk to him, he was immediately eager to hear from her.
"Are you prepared for the history test tomorrow?" Sir asked.
Bondita gulped and nodded. "I... I believe so," she said.
"Great," Jayadrath sir said, beaming happily.
"But sir, there's something else I need to talk to you about," Bondita said. "Something... that... I need help with."
"Of course! What help do you need?" sir asked her.
Bondita swallowed the lump in her throat nervously.
It felt very weird, and awkward, to tell her old teacher that she was pregnant. It felt almost like... there was something shameful about this.
Even though that first instinctive feeling was there, she knew better. Her baby was not a shame for her!
"Well... I... have gotten... into a... situation."
"Please explain further."
"I... wasn't expecting this... but... nothing will change..." Bondita was stammering.
Jayadrath sir continued to look at her, a soft gaze in his elderly eyes.
"I...I...I'm..." Bondita squeezed her eyes shut, heart hammering hard. "SirI'mpregnant!"
Jayadrath sir looked at her with shock at first, not expecting such a confession.
"Pregnant?" he then asked, after a few seconds of silence.
Bondita's eyes sprung open and she nodded. "But nothing will change! I will study hard! I will become a barrister! We will change this world. Sir, nothing will change! Absolutely nothing! I just need your help... to explain to Principal sir. Please sir!"
Jayadrath sir looked at the determination of the girl, and his heart softened.
"Is your family okay with this?" he just asked her.
"Yes, of course!" Bondita lied.
Forget the rest of her family, even her Pati Babu hadn't been convinced of studying this heavy workload of hers yet.
"My Pati Babu was going to talk to Principal sir himself, but I told him I wanted to talk to you first!"
Jayadrath sir nodded.
Of course, to hear that Bondita was going to be a mother at this stage of her life, where she already had a tough path to tread, due to being a woman... it didn't make him happy. But, his role was not to judge or be sad about possible setbacks. His role was one of support.
And he would support his student in every circumstance.
"Very well then. I'll see what I can do," he said.
"Sir, thank you!" Bondita gasped breathlessly.
"Don't stress yourself out Bondita," he said to her, sounding a little worried for her. "Even if you have to take a break, it's okay. There will always be time to do everything you wish."
"Sir, I won't stress myself out! I'll be stressed out if I don't do this!"
"Okay," Sir said, "Whatever you feel is best. I'll be here to support you."
Bondita nodded and said, "Thank you sir, that's what I need the most. Your support."
She started to bend down to touch his feet, but he immediately placed his hand out to stop her.
"Now is not the time," he told her, and then pressed his hand on the top of her head, "You already have my blessings. You don't need to bend to receive them."
Bondita pressed her hands together and smiled, feeling like she found such a great teacher -- one who she had formed such an impeccable connection with.
--
"There is one option," Mallika said to Vikram, "You can ask... Surabhi. She would know what it's like to have a boyfriend."
Vikram sighed, and said, "Batuk is her boyfriend."
"So? Will he not be... romantic with her?" Mallika's heart stung again when she said this.
"I don't want any advice that's tainted with Batuk's way of romance!" Vikram said.
"What's wrong with his way of romance ji?" Mallika asked, her heart still stinging slightly. For some reason, she craved to see what that kind of romance was.
"I dunno! I don't even want to know!"
"Then? What will you do? You're out of options!" Mallika said.
"I'm not! There's still Bondita's... Pati Babu!" His face went red at the thought. "His romance is probably reasonable! Even when I walked in on... him and Bondita... it looked like an art!"
"Walked in on him and Bondita? Doing what?" Mallika asked, "Did their conversation look like an art?"
Vikram's face turned even more red at the memory of that kiss, when he walked into their room! The two of them had been sitting on the floor, Bondita on his lap. Making out!
Except... he wasn't disgusted! Bondita's Pati Babu was such a good kisser, that Vikram's breath had been taken away by how artistic it looked!
"It was --"
Before he could answer, Mallika's eyes widened, because she felt a firm grip on her shoulder from behind.
She turned around to see Batuk.
Immediately her hand found his, and she pushed it off her shoulder!
"What are you doing?!" Mallika and Batuk both screamed at each other.
Batuk furrowed his eyebrows, and Mallika glared at him.
Vikram blinked in confusion!
"Why did you touch me?" Mallika questioned.
"What are you doing with my best friend?" Batuk demanded instead.
Vikram nearly rolled his eyes. Batuk was being his overprotective self again! This was the reason he fought with Batuk in the first place! Why didn't he understand that he was being unreasonable in his overprotectiveness?
"What do you mean what am I doing?" Mallika asked. "He's my friend too!"
"Friend? Only friend?" Batuk asked.
"What else?" Mallika questioned.
Batuk glared at her.
"I can't say it, otherwise my best friend will be too shy to speak to you ever again!" Batuk went on dramatically.
Vikram furrowed his brows.
What was Batuk going on about? What reality did he make up in his head this time?
"I don't understand you, Batuk!" Mallika yelled. "You're just so annoying!"
"I'm what?" Batuk gasped, offended.
"Annoying," she repeated.
Batuk blinked a few times, not even sure how to react to this!
"You make things up in your head! You don't realize what you say can hurt someone else! You don't know that your preconceived ideas are actually not the reality! And in turn, you end up hurting even people who are close to you!" Mallika yelled.
Batuk gulped. Why did she sound like his Boudi right now?
"Why do you always want to look like the villain?" Mallika snapped, "Aren't you tired of it?"
Batuk blinked a few times, somehow her words making an impact in his heart.
He was tired.
He was tired of being misunderstood.
He was tired of people hating him, of people not seeing that he might make mistakes because he cared. They didn't see his care. They only saw his mistakes.
He was tired of it.
Somehow tears filled Mallika's eyes, and she said, "You should at least... look at yourself from another angle. There may be a better way to approach things, Batuk."
Batuk pressed his lips together firmly, as he gazed at the girl.
Bloody hell.
Here, he was getting schooled by Mallika, and he was actually getting convinced of the words she was saying too!
Vikram glanced at Mallika, then at Batuk's speechlessness. Clearly, something was working.
He had to commend Mallika for that. It was not very easy to get into Batuk's thick head.
"But..." Batuk finally squeaked, like he was a mouse, who was speaking in front of a lion.
"What? Don't you understand yet?" Mallika asked.
"I... I mean... don't you... like... Vik -" before he could finish, the door to the classroom opened, and Bondita returned.
"Ready Bondita?" Vikram asked.
Bondita nodded, and Vikram carried both of their school bags, deciding that it was time to go home.
"Bye Mallika," Vikram said quickly.
Bondita glanced at Batuk, and then at Vikram.
"What happened between you and Batuk?" she then questioned quietly.
"Nothing," Vikram just said, "Let's go home."
Batuk looked away from his Boudi and Vikram, a sense of guilt filling him.
"Take care of my nephew," he just huffed, and then he also stormed away.
They were going in the same direction, but were taking their own paths.
Bondita was wary this time, realizing that there was a rift in their friendship. A friendship that was unbreakable.
When would the three of them walk together, like the trio that they were, and do their silly shenanigans again?
Did life take a hold of them?
Did they grow too old now?
Was it too late to be the children that they once were?
--
"Hello... Chandrachur?" Anirudh had dialed Thakumaa's haveli, where Chandrachur picked up the call.
There was an odd silence between them.
"Yes, Barrister Babu," Chandrachur's voice finally said.
"I've sent a new car to Thakumaa's haveli. It's yours now," Anirudh told him. "I'm sorry for all the damage that happened with your car..."
There was a sharp breath that Chandrachur drew.
"And also, I'm sorry for the emotional damage that you must have gone through... after you saved my life... I also wanted to thank you," Anirudh said softly.
"Okay." It was one word that Chandrachur said. He was not interested in pleasantries or small talk.
"How are you?" Anirudh then asked.
It wouldn't have been easy to kill a man. Definitely, there must be some trauma that Chandrachur must be facing.
"Fine, Barrister Babu," Chandrachur said in a monotone voice, sounding bored, "You called me. You sent me a car, to make up for your wife's mistake, and you're checking up on me. That's more than you needed to do."
When Chandrachur mentioned Bondita's mistake, Anirudh's heart clenched. The idea of someone calling out a fault in his wife was not something he liked. Not in the least bit.
"You saved my life Chandrachur. Of course I needed to do it," Anirudh then said. "You can always call, if you need to talk. Don't feel guilty... or upset... all alone."
Chandrachur had a split moment, where he wondered whether he could talk to Bondita instead of this Barrister Babu!
"That's fine Barrister Babu. You don't have to worry about me --"
Suddenly, there was movement by the door, and it seemed like Bondita arrived with Vikram. Batuk trailed in a few steps behind.
"Seems like Bondita's here. I have to go," Anirudh said urgently. "Call me, if you need me, or if there are any issues with the car."
"Bon --" Before Chandrachur could finish uttering her name, Anirudh hung up the call.
"ARGH," Chandrachur groaned from the other end, "I saved Barrister Babu's life. Yet, I don't get a chance to speak to Bondita herself! How much more tapasya do I have to do? But even though all hope seems lost! I will not give up! I will spend my whole life trying to attain you Bondita!"
--
Anirudh rushed over to the three students. None of them looked happy.
Batuk just walked past first, disappearing to his own bedroom.
Bondita watched Batuk go, concern on her features.
"Thanks Vikram," Anirudh said, taking Bondita's heavy backpack from him.
"No need to thank me!" Vikram said, his face flushing. "I will do anything for you -- Bondita too!"
Anirudh just smiled awkwardly, his gaze landing on Bondita.
Did she remember the snack promise she made to him earlier?
"Come, let's go freshen up," he said to her.
Bondita nodded, and Anirudh was about to leave with her, when Vikram stammered, "Bondita's freshening up, I understand! But do you need to freshen up too?"
Anirudh stopped in his tracks, and he turned his head to gaze at Vikram.
"I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT!" Vikram said loudly, his cheeks red, "I mean, I mean... oh... well... you are always perfect and so are your decisions, Bondita's Pati Babu! But, the thing is... I n - need to t - talk to you! I h - have a question!"
Bondita stopped too and turned to look at Vikram curiously. She wondered what he needed to talk to her Pati Babu about so urgently?
Anirudh nodded, ignoring the fanboy comments, and said, "I'll drop Bondita's bag off and see you in the study. Give me five minutes."
Bondita couldn't help what she was going to do next.
She grinned at Vikram and said, "It won't be five minutes. Give us... fifteen... no twenty minutes! Maybe thirty to be safe! Ask Bihari to feed you some snacks while you wait!"
Snacks.
Anirudh turned to look at Bondita, and she looked at him innocently.
He was starving for his own snack.
This time, she was completely right, and he wouldn't even glare at her or scold her! He was just too desperate.
Their dry spell that had lasted too long, couldn't be appeased with only one session.
Of course not!
Their romance had only just begun!
