Anirudh looked at Bondita, a crease appearing on his forehead, surprised by her sudden statement.

He had already taken his glasses off and placed them on the table.

He was incredibly tired, having left Calcutta early in the morning, and even picking up the roshogullas on the way, but despite all of that, he had been eager to spend a few moments alone with his wife.

However, it seemed like she was pushing him away, and that was so unlike Bondita.

Bondita looked at Anirudh, gulping, and she said, "V - vomit. I just vomited Pati Babu."

How could she allow her Pati Babu to taste her mouth when she had literally just thrown up from it?

Anirudh smiled, shaking his head slowly.

"As if that makes a difference to me," he just said, and then closed the gap between their mouths again, kissing her softly and sweetly.

Bondita melted as he kissed her, his soft lips making her feel so loved and cared for.

She had missed his hugs and kisses so much, and even now she craved for them.

However, it was due to these kisses, that things had spiraled out of control.

Anirudh had always told her, that once they started kissing, everything else would happen quickly... and it did

She had always tried to seduce him. She always tried to get him to kiss her, to make love to her.

It was all her fault.

Tears once again, invaded her eyes and poured down her cheeks, mingling with their joined lips.

But now it was too late. What was the point of stopping the intimacy now, when the damage was done?

Bondita had already decided, that now she would not argue with him. She would listen to everything without speaking up against it.

If he wanted her body, he could have it. She wouldn't even give him the smallest of tarks as a response.

He had always been right, after all.

Although it was another thing that she always craved him, she always wanted him, despite what was happening. It wasn't exactly going against her own wishes, to give in... but even if it was, now no matter what he told her to do, she would listen at once.

No complaints, no arguments.

Just agreement.

Anirudh could taste her salty tears as they kissed, and he pulled away slowly, looking into her eyes with concern.

He wiped her tears away and asked, "Are you really crying because you missed me so much?"

Bondita nodded, trying to hold back her tears.

"But I'm here now. There's no need to cry Bondita," he said softly, but her tears just weren't stopping.

Anirudh wrapped his arms around her and hugged her, making sure she was on the side of his chest without the brooch. He managed to slide his hand inside the pallu on her head in order to caress her hair.

Bondita rested against him as he stroked her hair lovingly, massaging it, providing temporary relief to her.

"Bondita, you know what I missed the most, apart from you, in Calcutta?" Anirudh asked her softly.

"N - no," she whispered, her tears pouring onto his clothes.

"Your coffee," he told her softly.

Bondita lifted her face from his chest and said, "I'll make it now."

Anirudh smiled and touched her cheek lovingly, before leaning towards her and brushing his lips over her forehead, planting a soft kiss there.

"In the meantime, I'll start unpacking," he told her, "I'm very tired."

"You must be," she murmured, "Let me help you relax."

Anirudh nodded and leaned towards her, whispering in her ear, "I'd love that."

Bondita forced a smile, knowing what he was insinuating.

More than anything, she wanted to feel his loving touch, his loving kisses on her body once again... but Bondita didn't feel like she deserved it.

"I'll go and make your coffee," she just said, and then turned around and went from there.

Anirudh watched her go with a loving smile.

"Bondita, I don't know why you're crying so much... but seeing me, you just keep crying," Anirudh said with a light sigh, "So I sent you to make me coffee. Hopefully, that distracts your mind enough for you to relax."

After all, whenever she did things for him, Bondita found peace. It put her in almost a meditative state... just like whenever he did things for her.

And when Bondita made him coffee, this was exactly what happened. In those 10-15 minutes it took to make him the cup of coffee, she had immersed herself in the experience and had forgotten all about her worries.

Her attention was only on how she could make the best coffee for her Pati Babu!

Once she brought it up, she set it on the desk, and went to Anirudh who was about to hang pants on a hanger.

Bondita took the pants from him and took the hanger as well, sliding the pants in.

"I can do it," Anirudh said lightly, as she hung the pants up.

"I know," she answered, reaching in his suitcase and grabbing all of his underwear. "Which ones are dirty?"

"Uh... I'm not sure," he admitted.

"What?" Bondita gasped. "Were you wearing dirty underwear?"

"No... I had it figured out until I packed last night. In my excitement to come and see you, I threw everything together, and it mixed..." Anirudh said, and touched the back of his head gently, a smile on his lips.

Bondita couldn't help but smile.

There was just something about him, that made her forget all of her worries, all of her stresses. It was like his mere presence was enough to lighten her up.

"But I had packed all of your underwear. There's none here. What'll you wear now?" Bondita asked, dropping his underwear back in the suitcase and looking up at him.

"I guess I can't wear underwear," Anirudh just said with a smile, "Until these get washed."

Bondita pressed a hand to her head and said, "Ohho Pati Babu, you should have taken a little bit of ca --" Then she bit her tongue, realizing that she was again talking back. "Don't worry Pati Babu, I'll put these with the laundry. You'll have something in a few hours."

Anirudh looked at her, wondering why she stopped herself from scolding him. He loved it when she scolded him.

He just shook his head -- he was probably over-thinking. He was away from her for so long, so she probably didn't want to scold him because of that.

"I'll be back after giving these clothes to wash --" she said, and was about to reach in his luggage, for his dirty clothing, when Anirudh took her hand and pulled her to him instead.

He swiftly unpinned the pallu from her hair, and trapped her head against his chest -- the side without the brooch.

Then he tangled his fingers in her hair and began to massage her head, making Bondita take deep breaths.

"Stop working so much," he said to her. "I'm here now. Be with me."

Bondita nodded against his chest, as he caressed her hair, his body feeling very comforted just by merely holding her.

"I love you," he said softly to her.

"I love you too," she responded softly.

So much Pati Babu

Anirudh kissed her hair and gently used his hands to pull her face back so he could gaze into her eyes.

"If I kiss you, will you cry again?" he asked, almost like he was teasing her.

Bondita looked at him, and softly asked, "Would you like to kiss me Pati Babu?"

"Is that even a question?" he asked her.

"But your coffee will get cold."

Anirudh sighed and he went to the coffee, holding it in his hands and taking a few sips. Then he went to Bondita, and cupped her face in his hands again, caressing her cheeks.

She could feel the warmth of his hands from holding the coffee cup.

He brought his lips to hers and kissed her softly at first, and Bondita could taste and smell the coffee from his lips.

For some reason... the taste of coffee from his mouth wasn't triggering her. In fact, she was quite liking it, like a craving

Who would have thought that one day she would puke over sweet roshogullas, and crave bitter coffee?

Anirudh's hands moved down her back, to the pinned pallu on her shoulder, working on unpinning her immediately.

Bondita breathed faster as he tried to get her out of her clothes as quickly as possible.

He wanted to make love.

And she did too

She did miss him. She did love him. She did crave and yearn for him.

But she didn't deserve his love!

Anirudh noticed the way that Bondita was sucking on his tongue, unable to help herself, as if she was trying to extract as much flavour out of it as possible.

His heartrate shot up, as he unwrapped her saree from around her, breaking the kiss momentarily to do so.

Bondita pouted slightly, the lingering coffee taste on her mouth filling her with a sense of satisfaction.

After Anirudh got her out of her saree, she went over to his coffee cup in just her blouse and petticoat, and was about to bring the cup to her own lips to drink the coffee.

She didn't drink coffee normally. She used to despise the bitterness of it.

Even until today, she preferred a warm glass of milk, and on some occasions she would drink a sweet cup of tea.

Coffee just wasn't something she ever thought she could enjoy.

But today... today she was craving it badly

As soon as she was bringing the cup up to her lips, she remembered Thakumaa's words, and all of a sudden the same pang and heart-ache filled her system once more.

Thakumaa had said to limit caffeine.

Anirudh watched, shocked, because it seemed like Bondita was about to take a sip of his coffee, when she didn't even like the taste.

He approached her and asked softly, "Do you want to take a sip?"

Bondita shook her head and passed him the cup.

"You drink it," she ordered.

Anirudh smiled and took the cup from her, bringing it to his lips and sipping on it again.

He put the coffee cup back down and leaned into her ear, whispering, "A nice coffee break between our make-outs hmm?"

Bondita's insides performed somersaults and she took a deep breath, trying to forget everything for a moment.

Anirudh missed her so much, and she could sense it.

Just once... only one time, she could forget about everything and let him love her, right?

She didn't deserve his love, but she couldn't be the source of his pain either.

She smiled and reached up to cup his cheeks, lovingly feeling his skin.

"I love you," she just said softly.

Anirudh whispered at once, "I love you too."

Then she gently kissed his lips, pouring all of her love into this kiss.

She didn't know what the future held, or what tomorrow contained. However, she knew one thing. One thing that was far more important than any future.

That she loved her Pati Babu beyond every cell of her existence, and nothing about that could ever change.

Because it was real, pure, and the truth

Anirudh kissed her back passionately, and Bondita once again, tasted the coffee from his mouth, and tried to relish in the satisfying taste.

Anirudh moved his hands down her back, feeling her curves, feeling her all over her body.

At one point his hands made contact with her waist and had slid around gently to her stomach and navel area, making Bondita shiver and feel emotional.

She broke the kiss at this point and watched as he caressed her belly, his warm hands filling her insides with the same warmth.

Bondita grew extremely emotional, and she wished that somehow everything could be okay... but she knew that her Pati Babu would never be okay with this pregnancy. He would never be happy knowing that he got her pregnant.

Just like she was suffering in guilt, he would too.

Regardless of this, the act of him caressing her belly was enough to touch her heart. His baby was in there

Then before she knew it, Anirudh had scooped her into his arms, picking her up bridal style.

A gasp left her lips, as he walked with her to the bed and laid her down on it.

He leaned towards her from the floor and kissed her forehead for a moment, and murmured, "One second."

He went to his coffee, and took another few sips, bringing the mug closer to the bed so that it could rest on the side table.

Anirudh had noticed that for some reason, Bondita wanted him to drink his coffee more than usual -- and after each time he drank it, she was sucking on his tongue, as if enjoying the taste herself.

So that she could enjoy the coffee even more, he was not leaving the coffee forgotten.

After putting the mug down, he took his brooch off, and got in bed beside her, turning his body to the side so he could face her.

"I want to love every inch of you," he murmured to her, caressing her face.

Bondita looked at him, feeling emotional all over again.

Her eyes grew wet once more, and Anirudh leaned closer to her, kissing her eyelids one by one.

"You've been crying a lot," he murmured. "I can't help but feel like there's more to it. Did something happen while I wasn't here?"

He kissed her cheek lovingly, as Bondita hiccupped, "No Pati Babu."

Anirudh moved his lips to her ear, sucking on her earlobe gently and whispering, "Are you sure? At school maybe?"

She shook her head and whispered, "No."

He started to plant kisses on the skin of her neck and he softly asked, "Did anyone in the family say anything? Did you fight with Batuk again?"

"N - no."

His lips trailed downwards, his hands moving her hair back out of the way, so that he could get further access to her neck.

How he missed loving her like this.

"Are your periods coming? Is that why?" he wondered softly, and then nodded, "Yes... that must be it. It is supposed to come in about a week."

When he said this, her eyes widened, and tears streamed down her cheeks again.

She had already missed one month, and now her next periods would soon be due. Inevitably, she would miss them again.

However, this time, her Pati Babu would notice if she didn't get them.

She was doomed.

Doomed was an understatement.

Now there was no going back.

"You - you must be tired," she whispered, but Anirudh had pressed his lips against hers, letting her drink the residual coffee taste from his mouth.

She drank what she could, and Anirudh pulled back, looking at her with desire.

"I'm very tired," he admitted, "But I can only get some rest after I love you."

Bondita smiled and nodded, feeling his hands play with the pins at the front of her blouse.

"As you wish, Pati Babu..." she just said softly, lifting her hands to the buttons of his waistcoat, and working on unbuttoning them.

"And you?" he asked her, as he slid the waistcoat off his shoulders, "What do you want?"

She looked in his eyes with her wet ones and said, as she began to unbutton his shirt, "I want you too. I want... to feel your love."

Even if I don't deserve it, I still want to feel it. I am selfish. I am very bad. You were always right. I am badmaash Bondita. I never deserved any Shabashi.

A smile appeared on her lips and she asked, "But... can you... be gentle?"

Anirudh watched her with surprise, and he murmured, "Missy wants me to be gentle today. That's surprising."

Bondita looked at him with love, and Anirudh's mouth crashed onto hers, kissing her gently and lovingly, just as she wished, as his fingers finished unbuttoning her blouse.

The timeless and unconditional nature of love was such that it had properties of creation, preservation, and destruction. All were forms of divinity, and none of these three states could exist without each other. They overlapped, and were always intertwined in the most perfect harmony.

Just like, a thought was created... it was pondered upon, preserved in the mind... and then it got destroyed back into the fabric of time.

Just like, a life was created... it lived, was preserved, and ultimately died like every living being.

Just like, the universe was formed... it expanded, was preserved,  and ultimately it would collapse again.

Just like that, Anirudh and Bondita's pain may have been created, it may serve a period of preservation, but that pain would also collapse, and be destroyed, annihilated back into the fabric of nothingness.

It was the law of nature, after all.

Bondita looked at Anirudh with wonder as he removed her blouse, pushing his shirt off his shoulders too.

No matter how much she grew, no matter how old she got, she could never stop being awestruck by him. She would always live with wonder and awe... at what a being he was. A timeless, beautiful being.

And loving him? Oh, that was something that could never exhaust her. Her love was just as timeless as him, after all.

Door hai par tera saaya hai mujhpe,
Jaane kyu bharosa hai tujhpe
Main nasamajh, gyaani hai tu,
Main dhool hun aasmaa tu,
Main hun iss mitti se,
Bilayati Babu hai tu...
Phir bhi mil hi jaayege mile jaise saanjh aur savera,
Tu paraya hokar lagta apna sa...

Many of you guessed she pushed him away because of her guilt, but it was really due to the vomit. 😛 I loved all of your predictions, and it showed me that you understood the nature of her mind well too. But remember, she isn't going to go against her Pati Babu now... or so she says. 🥺

Was there anything in this chapter that stood out to you?
