future fic plans
I've got a few fics and applyfics in the works mentally, so I'm sharing them here to see if anyone is interested in reading them! Please do let me know if any in particular interest you! Some of these characters will be familiar if you read my "unwritten ocs" chapter from last year, lol.
SHADOW AND FLAME
Fandom: X-Men, specifically X-2.
OC: Lillian Mulgrave, a shy bisexual teenage girl with shadow powers who happens to be friends with very chaotic people. Played by Hannah Britland.
This is the first in a planned series of X-Men fics with several ocs, including a future female love interest for Lillian whom I adore (her name is Rory, she's very cute). I actually had this book up for a while, but took it down a couple years back due to lack of interest on my part! Someday I'll come back to it.
GLITTER AND GOLD
Fandom: Narnia, specifically Golden Age post LWW.
OC: Guinne of Archenland, a young noblewoman who falls for one of the new narnian royals. Played by Caitlin Stacey.
I don't yet have a summary written for this one, but it's just a cute little love story with Edmund that sets up a longer series set in Narnia. Narnia has been with me since I was a kid, so of course I have to write about it sometime!
THE TAXONOMY OF LIFE AND DEATH
Fandom: Jurassic Park
OC: Adam Lazarro, an animal behaviorist asked to check out the park early who is quickly in way over his head. Played by Oscar Isaac.
Honestly, I'm super proud of that title. It took me forever to come up with it and I love it so much. This is the first in a trilogy, and I love both my ocs for it so much. There is a romance element, with Malcolm, but kind of takes a backseat to "holy shit dinosaurs". Also, please, Oscar Isaac is a beautiful man and needs to be cast more on this site. I say this as a lesbian.
UNTITLED MERLIN STORY
Fandom: BBC Merlin
OC: Gareth, healer's apprentice and awkward soft boy gay who I love. No fc yet.
Summary: When Gareth is accepted by Gaius as a healer's apprentice, he doesn't expect much to happen besides learning. Gaius is growing older, everyone knows it, and Gareth is perfect to take over for him when the time comes. So all is calm—until Merlin arrives. There's something about that boy, though Gareth can't figure out what—and he's too busy staring at Merlin's beautiful eyes every chance he gets to truly try.
Gareth is my sweet baby boy and I love him so much. He's head over heels for Merlin and has no idea what to do about it most of the time besides stumble over his words but it's adorable.
WOMAN IN BLACK
Fandom: The Princess Bride
OC: Nikolai, a female pirate who's worked damn hard to become first mate on the Revenge and has the loyalty to prove it—even when her captain is being stupid as shit. Played by Gemma Aterton.
Summary: Nikolai isn't her birth name, but it's the only name that matters to her now. Raised at first by an older sister, then an uncle whose merchant business turned to piracy after a run-in with the Dread Pirate Roberts, Nikolai has lived on the seas since she was a young girl, and she can't imagine giving it up. But she follows her captain, wherever he may lead, and when he asks her to help him rescue a princess, Nikolai can't say no.
I know the Princess Bride fandom is tiny as fuck, but it's one of my favorite movies! I actually have a few chapters of this written, I just... don't know if anyone but me would care. Also features a romance with Inigo Montoya bc duh.
THE BALANCED BLADE
Fandom: Arrow
OC: Avalon Prince, aka Swordmistress. The daughter of a prominent British businessman—and descended directly from the line of King Arthur—Avalon's legacy is powerful. No fc yet.
OKAY. I'M SO DAMN PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS SERIES IT'S GETTING WRITTEN NO MATTER WHAT. I love Arthurian legends, always have, and I got the idea to incorporate it into the Arrowverse, starting with Avalon! She's very no-nonsense, scarily good with a sword, and a baby lesbian who thinks Thea Queen is very cute. The series, if you were wondering, is called the Knighthood Saga.
PRINCESS*
Fandom: Grishaverse
OC: Svetlana Lantsov, the youngest child and only daughter of the Lantsov royal family. Also a durast. No fc yet.
Summary: Born a princess and raised a Grisha, Svetlana has always been torn between the two parts of her life—the royalty, the glitz and the glamour and all the adoration; and the Second Army, the power and the respect and all the friends she couldn't have otherwise. She chose, a long time ago, to claim Grisha before princess, to stay separated from half her birthright in order to embrace the half that makes her feel most at home. It's only when Alina Starkov shows off her blinding powers and comes to the Little Palace that Svetlana's little life turns upside down, and she's forced to make choices she never expected.
*Title subject to change bc I hate this one. Svetlana is the result of an idea I had walking my brother's dog right after the show came out, and I think she's fun! She's gay for Alina bc gimmie those lesbians. With Svetlana, I want to explore themes of duality and how she feels torn between two worlds.
STORM CROW
Fandom: Grishaverse
OC: Miroslava Voronin, aka Mirya. A tidemaker of middling power and less middling ambition. No fc yet.
Summary: Mirya has always been overlooked. There were always more talented tidemakers, those who could raise greater swells and more waves than her. Not for lack of trying—Mirya never sought fame, but she wanted to be good, to be worthy. But she was always the last choice. So she left. In the disaster that was the Ravkan Civil War, Mirya fled to Kerch, where she knew she would be useful. Where she knew she could become something. Taken under the wing of the Dregs and branded a crow, the very bird that gifted her her surname, Mirya became useful. And after near-death, impossible heists, and rescues most could never pull off, Mirya finds herself drawn into the arms of a girl she thought forgot her years ago, a girl she'd always loved but dared not dream to attain—and found herself settling into the waves of love.
Clearly this story is designed to span the entire current Grishaverse, though Mirya's involvement in the Shadow and Bone trilogy is minimal. Mirya is my baby and she and Zoya very much have an opposites attract romance. This is unconnected to the previous Grisha story, and both are separate from my current applyfic.
A DARKENED PAGE
Fandom: Inkheart
OC: Miranda Folchart, younger sister of Mo Folchart, non-silvertongue, and compulsive wanderer. No fc yet.
Summary: Miranda Folchart was twenty-three years old when everything changed. When her brother read a book out loud and called three characters from between the pages into their world. That was the night everything was turned upside down, and the night when she began to fear for her life at every turn. Miranda was always a drifter: no university education, no solid job besides assisting her brother with his bookbinding, no residence of her own. So it all made sense that she latched on to another drifter like her. It wasn't weird at all that he was a fictional character, right?
This character has been living in my brain since I was 12 years old, when I was obsessed with Dustfinger (he's still my favorite...). Yes, I know Inkheart is another tiny fandom, but I'm probably gonna go for this one since it's such a big of me.
BURN IT WITH ME
Fandom: None, this is an original applyfic!
OCS: Vampa and Vrai, twins, rebels who want to burn down the establishment no matter the cost. No fcs yet.
Summary: With inequality between the City and the Outside rampant—persecution, toxic air, and the determination that all Outsiders are uneducated scum who want to tear everything down—there are those who want to change things. Two of those are twins Vampa and Vrai. Victims of City violence and neglect, they lost their parents at a young age, left alone as mere children. And since then, they've fostered anger in their hearts—anger at those who hurt them. Anger that has led to a determination to burn it all to the ground and start over.
So, some of you might remember an MCR-inspired applyfic I had up a while back. This is sort of a rework of that, with more original elements and extra influences from other cyberpunk and dystopian media. This one seeks to explore themes of persecution and rebellion, and it might be pretty heavy—but that's why I want to tell it.
