{Tuesday 11 July}

~ Charlie's POV ~

The bell rings and Ryder and I make our way out of class together, making our way to my locker. Eden soon joins us, with a huge grin on her face. 

"What's up with you?" I ask curiously. 

"Guess who just asked me out!" she squeals happily. 

"Who?". 

"Cole, Ryder's cousin. We're going on a date tonight!". 

"Cute" I reply, chuckling. I grab my things and we make our way to the spot. 

We chat and eat and before I know it, the bell for third-period rings and I find myself being walked to stats by my beautiful boyfriend.

The rest of the day flies by and I find myself at work, genuinely happy for the first time since my dad died. I look over and see Ryder staring down at his art pad as he draws. I'm truly in love him, no question about it. Last night was amazing and he makes me so genuinely happy, I honestly don't know what I would do without him. 

Suddenly, the doorbell rings and it breaks me from my thoughts. I watch as Knox makes his way up to the counter. I notice Ryder stop to look up at him, glaring hard. I smirk, it's cute when he's jealous. 

"Hey, Charlie" Knox greets me cheerfully. 

"Hi," I say uncomfortably as an icy chill runs down my spine. 

"I know it's only Tuesday today but I was wondering whether you and Eden would want to hang out on Friday after your shift at work? We could go get dinner and you could show me around town?" he asks smiling. Ummmmm, I don't think Ryder would be too happy about this. 

"Ummm, I don't know Knox" I start but am quickly cut off. 

"Aww, please. Come on?". 

"Fine, but only if I can bring Ryder and Eden can bring Cole?". 

"Deal! I'll see you at school tomorrow then" he says before winking and heading out the door. Well, that was weird. I make my way in a confused state over to Ryder and sit down next to him. 

"What did he want?" he grunts, motioning his head towards the window where we can see Knox getting into his car. 

"He wanted to know whether Eden and I wanted to get dinner and then show him around town on Friday after my shift" I reply, watching Ryder. 

"And you said no right?". 

"No, he convinced me to say yes but you and Cole are allowed to come as well". 

"Okay angel. I can deal with that" he says, pulling me into him. I laugh and snuggle into him. I stay in his arms for a moment before getting up and heading back to work.

The rest of my shift finally comes to an end and Ryder and I make our way back to my house. He works a little more on my car while I stand there ogling his gorgeous body. 

Fuck, he's like an angel or something. I end up helping him for a little bit before we head inside and jump through the shower together. We then head downstairs and eat dinner with my mum and Adette before clearing up. 

"Ryder?" Adette asks grinning. 

"Yes Adette?" he replies, smiling down at her. 

"Can you put me to bed tonight? I want to hear a cool story and you seem like you tell good stories" she says giggling. 

"Sure thing. I had a sister and I used to tell her stories all the time" he says as he scoops her up in his arms and carries her up the stairs while she giggles her head off. I smile and turn to mum who is also smiling. 

"Marry him," she says, her smile growing. 

"Mum!" I say embarrassed. 

"What? He's perfect for you and look at how good he is with Adette!". 

"I know but what if I blow it?". 

"You won't hun, and even if you do, he'd still love you". 

"How do you know that mum?" I ask speechless. "I mean I know he loves me and all but what if that changes?". 

"It won't hun. You can tell from the way he looks at you. It's the same way your father used to look at me" she says warmly. I smile and hug her for a while before Ryder walks back into the room. 

"Out like a light," he says confidently. Mum chuckles and I smile at him before walking over and kissing him. He smiles down at me before scooping me up and carrying me up the stairs. 

"Goodnight Carina!" Ryder yells. 

"Goodnight you two" mum yells back laughing. I smile as he carries me to my room and sets me gently down on my bed. 

"Does this mean you're staying again tonight?" I ask happily. 

"Hell yeah I am," he says winking at me. 

"Get changed Angel". I nod, stand up and start to undress when Ryder stops me. He gently grabs my arm and traces my tattoo. 

"It's beautiful by the way. I noticed it a while ago but forgot to ask you what it meant" he says quietly. My smile instantly disappears and I bit my lip to hold back the tears. 

"My father had the same tattoo. It was his favourite quote and when he died, I got it tattooed so that I would always have a little piece of him with me all the time" I reply quietly. I watch as his smile disappears too and he pulls me into him. 

"Shit. I'm sorry Angel. I didn't know" he says quietly before kissing me softly. 

"It's okay. You didn't know" I reply with a small smile before snuggling back into him.

~ Ryder's POV ~

Bullshit, I didn't know. I knew that he had the same tattoo as her, I just forgot where I had seen it before. But of course, it was her dad's tattoo. Fuck, I'm so stupid and now I've made her upset. Way to go Ryder. 

I hold Charlie tight in my arms as she starts to shake. She suddenly starts bawling her eyes out and I scoop her up and lay down on her bed with her cuddled into my side. I run her back while she continues to cry, quietly shushing her. 

She eventually stops crying and I notice that she's fallen asleep. I smile but that disappears when I realise I'm going to have to wake her up so she can get ready for bed. I getting nudge her and she groans and I grin back at her. 

"Angel" I whisper, nudging her again. She groans and opens her eyes. 

"Let's get ready for bed," I say quietly before scooping her into my arms and carrying her to the bathroom. We brush our teeth and she washes her face while I stare at her in awe. I don't deserve her, not after what I've done. 

She gives me a funny look and I shake my head smiling. I wrap my arms around her waist and look at us in the mirror. 

"I love you Ryder," she says quickly. 

"I love you too Charlie" I reply back huskily. I watch as her mouth drops open into a dramatic gasp. 

"No angel? Where's Ryder and what have you done with him?" she asks sarcastically. I chuckle as I turn her around before smashing my lips into hers. 

She quickly responds and starts kissing me back, melting beneath my hands. I smile and pull away, looking her over. So beautiful. 

I peck her lightly again before picking her up and carrying her back to her room. I set her down and we undress before she climbs into bed. I turn off the light and then join her. 

She snuggles into me and I kiss her forehead. She giggles and kisses my jawline. I smile and hold her tight in my arms. If only I didn't have to ever let go. I love her too much to let anything hurt her and now that Knox is here, I'm nervous because he's close with her. 

I sigh and gently lift her chin up so that her lips meet mine. I kiss her softly, grinning into the kiss. We eventually break away and she giggles, snuggling into me even more. 

"Goodnight Ryder" she whispers warmly. 

"Goodnight angel" I reply smiling. 

Oh how I love her and better yet, she's all mine.
