Narrator:Demons, they are mischievous creatures with horns, red eyes, claws, bat-like wings, and a thin tail. They have enhanced strength, and agility. They have a longer life span, and are able to grow wings at a certain age. In this world, they serve under the infamous demon lord. There are always stories about adventurers going to defeat the demon lord, but most of those stories don't end well. Because of how infamous the demon lord has become, all other creatures grew to despise demons, and they are treated as trash. One day, two adventurers were tasked with defeating the demon lord and they've succeeded in killing him. After the demon lord was announced dead to the world, the demon race became stranded and their population started declining. Many demons were tortured, and killed by the many other races in this world. Of course, there were some that pitied the demon race, but if a demon were to ask for their help, none will come.

Now we get into what this story is about. While the demon race was struggling, a demon woman had twins, a snarky brown haired boy named Jayden, and a sweet brown haired girl named Lily. However, about 7 years after their birth, the twins were separated from their mother, and they haven't seen her since. Jayden tried to leave Lily behind multiple times, but Lily would always follow him wherever he went. Lily cared for Jayden, despite his attempts to leave her. However, Jayden didn't want to leave Lily out of hatred or anything like that. Whenever the twins encountered any trouble, Jayden was the one to protect Lily. He grew sick of it. He wanted Lily to protect herself, and not rely on him too much. Despite fighting their way out of any dangerous situation they come across, they stuck together. When they reached 10 years old, they were traveling all over the world, until they stop at a very specific place. Which is when our story starts.

Lily:"This is the place they said. The place where humans live."

Jayden:"Yeah, hopefully we won't be run into trouble this time."

Lily:"Let's take a look."

*The twins put their matching hoods up and head inside a town called 'Namuh'. Namuh is known of it's population being mostly humans. Every now and then the twins would spot a beast-man, or an elf. After roaming around the town, the twins settled down in an empty back alley*

Lily:"This place is far cleaner than the other towns we've visited."

Jayden:"Yeah, that's because the other towns were filled with swamp water or weird dust piles, with weird and gross people and dead bodies at every corner. Anything would be better than those towns!"

Lily:"Come on, at least we haven't been spotted yet."

Jayden:"Yeah, I guess we blend better in because of our small figures. We probably look like real human children."

Lily:"Now we just need to find shelter."

Jayden:"Of course, let me just call the nearest inn. I'm sure they'll gladly let us in..."

Lily:"Well then, find us an inn."

Jayden:"I was joking...ugh..."

*The two continue looking around town, until they are stopped in a back alley*

Man 1:"Hey, you two! What're a couple of kids doing by yourselves?"

Man 2:"Yeah, did your parents abandon ya?"

Man 3:"Aw. It's ok, little ones. We'll take you in, so just stand perfectly still."

Lily:"Jayden?"

Jayden:"Ugh...look guys, you are suspicious as hell right now. Lucky for you, I'll show you who's the bigger monster here."

*Jayden takes off his hood, and the men gasped*

Man 1:"Y-You're a demon?!"

Man 2:"What the hell is a demon doing here?!"

Man 3:"Heh, s-so what if you're a demon, what are you going to do?"

Jayden:"I've been defending myself for 3 years now, what do you think I'm gonna do?"

*One of the men starts charging towards Jayden, but he gets thrown into the wall*

Man 3:"Ugh! Y-You damn brat..."

*The man passes out*

Man 2:"We've got you now!"

Man 1:"Take this! You son of a bitch!"

*The two guys take out swords and try to strike Jayden, he grabs their swords mid-swing, and threw the men behind him. Before the two guys could land on the ground, Jayden rushes towards them and kicks them both into the same wall*

Jayden:"Phew, at least I tried to warn them. Alright, you can come out now, Lily."

*Jayden looked around the alley, but Lily was nowhere to be found*

Jayden:"Uh oh."

Jayden(mind):This isn't right, she's got to be in trouble.

Jayden:"Lily? Lily, where are you?"

*Jayden hears a scream from a nearby alley, and he enters the alley to find Lily cornered by a group of humans*

Jayden:"Get the hell away from her!"

*Jayden slashes up all the people in a matter of minutes. He picks up Lily, and rushes out of the alley*

Jayden:"Lily, are you ok?"

Lily:*Sobs* "Thank you, Jayden! Thank you for saving me! It was so scary!"

*Lily tackles Jayden, and snuggles him*

Jayden:"Ugh...there, there. It's alright."

Jayden(mind):How many times has she done this after I save her?

Lily:"Jayden, can we stay somewhere else? I don't want to stay here for tonight."

Jayden:"Ugh...we can't go anywhere else. You can go somewhere else if you want."

Lily:"Would you go with me, Jayden?"

Jayden:"No."

Lily:"Oh...well then, I'm staying."

Jayden(mind):Really?! Which one will it be? Stay in a dangerous town with me, or live in the outdoors without me?

Jayden:"What am I gonna do with you..."

Lily:"?"

Jayden:"Come on, let's try and find some safe shelter."

Lily:"O-Ok."

*The twins put their hoods back up and continued walking around the town, encountering more sketchy people. Until they've finally found a empty alleyway, they used newspaper and rocks for beds that night. The next day, both of them went walking around town, and they saw an investigation taking place in one of the alleyways that Jayden fought in*

Investigator 1:"What do you think, detective Keith?"

Detective Keith:"Only small slashes, and no traces of a weapon. My first guess is an assassin, or maybe a wild animal."

Investigators 2:"Pfft, there's no way a wild animal could have beaten all of these men?"

Detective Keith:"That's true, and if it was an assassin, they would've left human footprints. Something's just not adding up."

*The detective spotted a curly line on the ground*

Detective Keith(mind):What's this?

Detective Keith:"Excuse me, was this mark always here?"

Investigators 1:"Huh? Uh...I'm not sure, detective."

Detective Keith:"Huh...and you sure that there wasn't any footprints?"

Investigators 2:"Hold up, I've found some by the end of the alley."

*The detective walks and sees an unusual footprint*

Detective Keith:"Definitely not a human."

Investigators 1:"What are you thinking, detective?"

Detective Keith:"Hmm...could it be claws?"

Investigators 2:"Claws? From what, a dragon?!"

Detective Keith:"Of course not, a dragon could've easily drawn attention. It must have been something smaller. Maybe a beast-man, or even worse, a demon."

Investigators 1:"Detective, what would you do if it was a demon?"

Detective Keith:"I would send them back to the hell where they came from."

Detective Keith(mind):However, I wish it's a beast-man.

Investigators 2:"Heh, what can a powerless detective do against a demon anyway?"

Detective:"Are you saying that 'you' want to stand off against a demon?"

Investigators 2:"Yeah...nope. My bad, detective."

*Jayden and Lily continue walking around town, until the two of them found a nearby bar. Once they went inside, they saw a bunch of sketchy people glare at them. The twins ignored the glares, and sat at a table in the corner. A waitress went by their table shortly after*

Waitress:"Can I get you two anything?"

Jayden:"Can you give us a few minutes?"

Waitress:"Sure, just shout whenever you want to order."

Lily:"Thank you, ma'm!"

*The waitress leaves and helps out another customer. Jayden puts his head to the table*

Jayden:"This sucks! We went to this town because we heard demons were treated less harshly here, but it seems like everyone is trying to kill us."

Lily:"Yeah, everyone here wants to hurt each other."

Jayden:"So much for equality..."

Drunk man:"Hey, you two! Yeah, you two with the weird outfits. What the hell are a bunch of kids doing here?"

*The twins didn't respond. The man got annoyed, and went up to Jayden*

Drunk man:"Hey! I'm talking to you, look at me when I'm talking to you!"

Jayden:"Why? Are you self-centered or something?"

Drunk man:"Hahaha."

*The man grabbed Jayden by the throat*

Drunk man:"Say that again, you little prick. I dare you."

Lily:"Jayden!"

*Jayden tries to free himself, but the man's grip is too strong*

Jayden(mind):Damn, not even my claws are affecting him! Who the hell is this guy?!

???:"That's enough, Russel."

*A guy puts his hand on the drunk man's shoulder*

Drunk man:"You know I have to, he was being a jerk."

???:"Russel, we're 'in public', not on the field."

*The drunk man, Russel, finally let's go of Jayden's throat*

???:"I'm sorry about him, he takes things way too far."

Jayden:"Thanks, but who the hell are you?"

???:"Oh, sorry about that. The name's Samuel, but everyone calls me Sam. Nice to meet you, kid."

Jayden:"Call me Jayden."

Samuel:"And what's your name?"

*The kind man knelt towards Lily*

Lily:"M-My name's Lily."

Samuel:"Nice to meet you too, Lily."

Jayden:"Why did you help us?"

Samuel:"Hmm...call it...adventurer's pride."

Lily:"You're the first person who's acted nice to us."

Samuel:"Really? How long have you two been here?"

Jayden:"A full day."

Samuel:"A full day?! Out in this town? You two are either really tough or lucky."

Jayden:"Must've been lucky..."

Jayden(mind):Or maybe it's because I'm a demon.

Samuel:"Well, kids like you shouldn't be roaming around this kind of area by yourself. Do you have any parents or relatives that you're living with?"

*The two of them stay silent*

Samuel:"No way, you two aren't all by yourself, are you?"

Jayden:"So what? What is it to you?"

Samuel:"Well...call it pity, or sympathy, but I think you two should really look for someone to take you in."

Jayden:"Like Lily said, you're the only person who's nice to us. No one is gonna take us in.

Samuel:"I'd be glad to, but my fiancé isn't ok with taking kids in."

Jayden:"Well, guess you can't help us then."

Samuel:"...But maybe, I could work something out."

Jayden:"It's fine, we don't need your help-"

Lily:"Great! Please take good care of us."

Jayden:"Huh?! B-But Lily..."

Lily:"He's nice, Jayden. Come on."

Jayden:"Ugh..."

Samuel:"She might be in your favor, she loves twins."

Jayden(mind):I'm not worried about that!

Jayden:"Ugh...fine!"

Lily:"Yay! We can be a family!"

Samuel:"Quite optimistic, we have to see if my fiancé will say yes. Oh, Honey!"

???:"Yes, sweetie?"

*One of the waitresses comes out, and approaches them*

???:"What is it?"

Samuel:"We've got a little situation."

*Samuel points at Jayden and Lily, and gives an awkward smile*

Samuel:"Can we take these two in?"

???:"...Ugh..."

*The waitress seemed annoyed, as she walked back toward the counter*

Samuel:"Cam, wait."

???:"Sam, you know I can't take care of children right now, especially with this job."

Samuel:"You don't have to, leave all the caring to me."

???:"Pfft, yeah right...you're not exactly 'wife-material'."

Samuel:"B-But I can try."

???:"Sam, this isn't a test. These are kids we're talking about here."

Samuel:"But Cam-"

Lily:"E-Excuse me? Ms Cam?"

???:"Oh, hello there. You can call me Camilla, little one."

Lily:"Ok, Ms Camilla? Can I ask you a question?"

Camilla:"Sure, what is it?"

Lily:"What's a test?"

Camilla:"Huh? You know, like a school test."

Lily:"School?"

Camilla:"Oh, um...a place where you learn stuff."

Lily:"Really? You can learn stuff at a school?! I want to go there? What about you, Jayden?"

Jayden:"Learn stuff?"

Jayden(mind):Like learning about the real world and stuff? Maybe this 'school' is exact what Lily needs!

Jayden:"Sure, I wanna know what a school is too."

Camilla:"They aren't even educated?!"

Samuel:"I didn't know about that."

Camilla:"Well, are you gonna teach them too?"

Samuel:"You know I was a terrible student, how am I supposed to teach them?!"

Jayden(mind):Doesn't look too good for us.

Samuel:"Please, Cam. These two are all alone, in a place like this. We have to give them shelter at least."

Camilla:"Ugh...you sure about this?"

Samuel:"Yes, this is to make amends."

Camilla:"Sam, that happened so long ago. We were naive, and didn't know the consequences."

Samuel:"I know, but I will be making amends with myself by taking in these two-"

*Samuel closed his mouth, ending his argument*

Camilla:"...Fine, but you better do a good job."

Samuel:"Yes, ma'm!"

*Samuel saluted, and looked back at the twins with a smile*

Samuel:"Welcome to the family, you two."

Lily:"Yay!"

Jayden:"..."

Jayden(mind):I'm not sure what this is gonna be like, but it looks like Lily's happy about it, so whatever.

*Samuel hugs the two of them, and Lily hugs back*

Lily:"Come on, Jayden. We're part of a family again."

Jayden:"Yay..."

*Jayden tried to put on a smile, as Lily was smiling and giggling*

Samuel:"Alright, you two...or maybe I should call you kiddos?"

Lily:"Yay! Kiddos!"

Jayden:"Please don't..."

Samuel:"Alright kiddos! Let's wait until 'mommy' is done with work, then we can go home."

Lily:"Alright!"

Jayden:"Ok."

Jayden(mind):Mommy? Oh, I guess this 'Camilla' woman is our mom now. That would make Samuel our dad. Jeez, I'm gonna have trouble getting used to this. My only concern is...what happens when they find out that we are demons? I don't wanna think about that.

*The three sit and chat until Camilla's work-shift ends, and it gets dark outside quickly*
