They may not look intimidating, but their bird shoots lightning!
Fischl from Genshin Impact
vs V from Devil May Cry
Okay, so this is a bit of a weird match up to discuss. Mainly because depending on what you're willing to buy from statements, this could either be pretty close or a complete murder-stomp depending who you ask. But otherwise, I quite like this match. The connections are decent, two mysterious, somewhat strange figures in their world with a love for reading and a lightning-elemental talking bird as their familiar of choice and closest ally. Another neat connection is that both Fischl and V are the way they are because they essentially rejected themselves in a way, though in V's case that statement's much more literal. Not even gonna lie, the main reason I like this match up is for the banter potential. The tag teams of Fischl and Oz against V and Griffon provide some pretty fun dialogue opportunities. There could be stuff like V quoting his poetry only for Fischl to return with her own grand posturing. Just imagine overly edgy/pretentious exchanges like this immediately followed by Griffon's shit-talking and Oz's sarcasm. As for who wins... honestly I'm not sure. I haven't looked much into it outside of what I already know about them, but I do know that if you're including statements to analyze their strength, this shit gets complicated real fast. Like, for example, Fischl claiming that Oz holds power over three different universes. From what I can gleam, Fischl is essentially just roleplaying as a character from her favorite book while going on adventures, so a lot of her statements about her own power are highly contentious at best, blatantly wrong at worst. However, I also don't know if her Oz is the same as the one from the story, or just playing the role as well, and haven't found any evidence either way so.... maybe it applies to him...? I dunno. I'm not as familiar with Genshin scaling as I am with DMC scaling, so forgive me if I'm missing something or getting anything wrong. Anyway, V isn't doing that much better with his statement that Nightmare might be strong enough to beat or at least hurt Urizen, only to then backpedal, say they're no match, and run away once he saw Urizen pulverizing Dante and Nero, so the scaling is just as tricky there. You see what I was getting at in the beginning? I think the best way you can look at this match is to sort of lowball them. Not actively neutering them, but sticking to direct feats, and statements and scaling that can be considered factual rather than speculative. At least, that's how I plan on doing it whenever I try the match. But what do you think? Would the Prinzessin be too much for the crumbling devil hunter, or would Vergil's humanity put the delusional adventurer in her place?
