A Dramatic Feast

This poem is dedicated to the person who views one of my internet friends as "too dramatic." I won't give a name, but this person knows who they are...

Why must you judge the words that you read?

People judge you for your downfalls;

they also judge you when you try and

bandage the wounds and results of

my deep, dark mistakes.

My bandages are the words that

you are reading right now.

I have never tried to smear my

problems on the faces of others.

If I choose to share a few partial effects

from the things that I feel,

then so be it.

I only want the souls that are hurting

out there to know that,

they are not walking the temporary

road of darkness alone;

that my hand is here to lift,

that my ears are here to listen.

If my words affect you deeply

to the point where you feel as if

you have to open

your box of masquerades

and place a mask upon my face,

then close your eyes.

Turn away.

Don't read the words

that you are reading right now.

Stop at this point.

Don't go any further.
