4. His favourite student

In class the next day, Gemini immediately saw something that made him very happy.

His friend, Prim, was sitting in her front table in the middle row, as usual, and she looked amazing.  Long, straight, slightly bleached brown hair fell freely on her small shoulders hidden under a nice, slightly green thin sweater, she had light but beautiful makeup on her face, and the whole was complemented by perfectly matched gold jewelry, gold earrings, a gold necklace and a gold watch on her back.  left hand.  Prim also chose a simple, navy blue, knee-length skirt and not very high heels that clicked loudly when she walked.

“Hello Prim!” He greeted her with smile, stopping next to her table and making her put away her phone.

“Oh, Gem.  Hello, future king.  What's up?”

“Nothing new, we just got roommates, but you probably already know that. So you better tell me, how are you?  You disappeared without warning for five whole days.  I had to ask P'Off about you, but he told me I didn't have to worry”.

“Oh, it's nothing serious.  My aunt Som was sick and my mother asked me to take care of their shop for a while.  I'm sorry I haven't messaged, but there was no reception, but I promise we'll make up for lost time tonight.  Come to me, I'll ask June to leave us alone, just the two of us”.

Fourth, although he didn't want to witness this overly sweet conversation(the most annoying thing was this girl's tone of voice, Fourth could swear that she was trying to flirt with Gem, especially when she smiled at him and looked him in the eye), sat close enough to hear every word and see the greedy look Prim was giving Gem.

«It's as if he was her property,» Fourth thought disgustedly, and his bad mood worsened when he saw Prim grab Gem's hand. Part of the conversation escaped Fourth, who already imagined himself getting up from his seat,  walking up to the two, grabbing Prim's arm and twisting it painfully.

“...to dinner together,” Fourth heard only the end of Prim's statement.

“No problem.  I will always find time for you”.

Nattawat didn't know why Prim irritated him so much that she aroused his worst instincts, including the one that told him to corner her somewhere alone and set her damn pretty hair on fire.

“Blah blah blah”. Fourth parodied Prim's statement, which caught Gem's attention.  Norawit glared at him furiously.

“Weren't you taught at home not to eavesdrop on other people's conversations? Oh, but maybe you don't have a home where anyone could teach you this? Sorry, I forgot you were adopted”.

Fourth pretended not to hear it.  He got up, took the books he had borrowed the previous day from the Institute's library, and left the classroom as if nothing had happened.  He met Professor Earth in the corridor, to whom he politely explained that he had to return the borrowed books to the library and that he would be back in a moment.

“Of course, nong Fourth, there's no rush. I believe you'll catch up with us very quickly. You're probably my only student that I'm not worried about”.

“Thank you professor. Oh and by the way, can I come to visit you and Mixxiw tonight?”

“Yes, of course, that's not a problem. I'll tell Mix. You probably miss your little cat, huh?”

“Mhm, I miss Little Princess very much, I wish I could meet her more often”.

“Maybe you could take her to your room? As far as I know it's not forbidden to have an animal in room”.

“Oh, I'm afraid it will be impossible with my roommate”.

“Really? Do we have any student this year who doesn't like animals?” P'Earth tried to think about someone, but from what he knew from P'Mix, everyone loved their assignments with animals, both magical animals and non-magical animals.

“Maybe it's not that he doesn't like them, but he for some reason hates me and I don't want him to take it out on poor, innocent cat. I'm afraid he could hurt her”.

“Do you think so? Who is that? Should I talk to him?”

Professor Earth always loved talking to Fourth. Nong was very calm and polite, always respected others and by talking to him P'Earth felt that he's still young. Fourth's voice was very silent in the classes, but he changed into a totally different person when he was around animals. P'Earth loved Fourth as if Fourth was his own son.

“You're already second or third person, P'Earth. I'm very very happy to have you by my side. Thank you. I can handle it myself”.

“Okay, nong Fourth. I have to go now. See you later”.

“See you!”

Fourth continued his way to library and P'Earth went to the class.

Meanwhile, Gemini clenched his hands into fists.  The way Fourth treated him like something invisible and insignificant almost drove him crazy.  Never before has anyone at the Institute, especially among the students, dared to treat him this way: as if he didn't exist.

Prim was chattering happily to him, but seeing that Gem's thoughts were elsewhere, she finally gave up and started writing a message to her friend, Becca, who was absent that day.

Gemini sat down in his seat as if in a trance and, without even opening his textbooks, rested his head on his hands and began to stare unseeingly at the view outside the window.  He paid no attention to the fact that his and Fourth's behavior had sparked a heated discussion among the other Knights of Light candidates.  NuNew, with whom Gemini was sitting on the bench, looked at him curiously.

Poon and Pahn were whispering to each other, covering themselves with their notebooks.  Joong Archen wasn't even going to pretend to care about these lectures.  He sat back, took out his phone, and started playing the game he and Pond had been obsessed with lately.

Aungpao was writing down Ohm Thipakorn's homework, and View was finishing a painting for her class in the Non-Magical world.  Only Khaotung and Perth were missing.

Gemini felt that it was going to be a long and tiring day.  He hated being ignored.
