«No, this isn't happening. No, not history repeating itself. I can't lose my little girl or little boy a second time. Please don't do this to me» Gemini thought as he paced back and forth in the Institute hallway before entering the infirmary.

“Big G, stop! You're walking around completely pointlessly, it's irritating,” P'Dunk scolded his brother, shaking his head.

“If you were in my situation, you'd be nervous too, I don't want anything to happen to them”.

“So you admit that you care about my cousin?” First Kanaphan joined the conversation, smiling as if he knew everything and was happy about it. Gemini gave him a dirty look. He didn't like the fact that First had followed Dunk here, with whom he had recently been practicing horse riding.  Even before "that incident", Fourth had also taken these lessons with them, and Gemini had just watched their actions with an offended prince charming's face and occasionally let out an irritated snort.

“Nonsense. I just... I just don't want anything to happen to my little girl, that's all”.

Gemini's dreams and flashbacks from the past made him think a lot about the little girl that lost her life. In his memories she was only 3 y.o. and he was afraid that history will repeat. The vision of the funeral was still very fresh as if it happened just yesterday not 100 years ago. He desperately needed answers.

«Just let them be safe, if any god exists, please, let them both be safe» He thought.

“You accepted it easily, I'm happy with that,” Phuwin also didn't intend to let it go. He remembered too well the times when Gemini criticized and ridiculed every gay, and every man in general who even looked a little gay, and now, when he himself was about to become the father of another boy's child, he suddenly changed his attitude completely. This change had already caused a lot of gossip in the Institute.

Dunk and Phuwin exchanged a look, from which Gemini realized that he and Fourth must have been the topic of conversation between the two of them. He also noticed something else: that Dunk was leaning against Phuwin, sitting on a not-so-comfortable chair, his hand on his shoulder.

“Huh? What are you insinuating?”

“Nothing, I'm just happy”.

“Happy? What are you happy about? The fate of my family is at stake here, and you're happy? Are you crazy?”

My family.

He said ‘my family’. Up until then he didn't quite understand it. He was going to have a family. The boy who was never loved, who couldn't tell the diffrence between love and lust, now was about to create his own family(even if against his own will at first) and suddenly it turns out he may lose it.

At this, Dunk and Phuwin laughed in unison, as if they could read each other's minds. Gemini felt offended by their behavior. He expected them to be more supportive for him and they disappointed him. When they stopped laughing, Phuwin explained the reason for their joy.

“We're glad you're starting to accept yourself as you are, that you're no longer running away from it. You were so obnoxious and just plain annoying when you were so adamant about being straight”.

“But I'm straight!”

“Sure, then Fourth is a woman! I don't know, but the last time I talked to him, he clearly considered himself a man, so... You know that, right? After everything what happened and what you have done yourself, you still believe that you are straight?”Dunk wouldn't leave his brother alone.

Gemini, hearing this, realized that Dunk had clearly forgotten what he had once told him about the woman from his memories. He preferred not to get into unnecessary discussions now. He almost said: “But in the past Fourth was a woman! His name was Susanne! I still see Susanne sometimes! I do it for her!”

But he stopped himself, knowing that any arguments at this moment were pointless.

Waiting was the hardest part.

No matter how hard his brother, his friend, and Fourth's cousin tried to talk him out of it or comfort him, he couldn't get rid of this panic and thoughts that kept revolving around one worst-case scenario and the sight of blood in their shared apartment.

“I think you're hurting my cousin's feelings this way. You should accept it already: you like men just as much as you like women, that's why it happened”.  First only wanted to tease the young and unruly candidate for king, but he didn't anticipate his nervous reaction.

“How many times the hell do I have to tell you that this happened because that brainless and emotionless moron Tsunoda gave us poison?! If I wasn't high, I wouldn't have done it! I wouldn't have laid a finger on him. I'm a guy, Fourth is a guy...”

Gemini didn't understand his own actions and didn't know why he said that. He didn't even believed that. He just repeated something what he once heard. He regreted it imadiately but it was too late. He didn't even get the time to apologize and explain.

First couldn't take it anymore. He loved his cousin too much to let anyone talk about him like that. He stood up from his chair and punched Gemini in the face with his clenched fist, sending him to the floor.

“You haven't changed at all. You're still the asshole you were, maybe even worse. You're not just standing in the same place anymore, you're going backwards. So what now? What's your life plan now? What are you going to do next?”

First waited for an answer, but Gemini's blood began to boil and it took only the last of his willpower not to strike back. He stood up, wiped the blood from his nose with his hand and snorted loudly.

“You'll regret this!” Gemini mumbled barely intelligibly under his breath.

“Why did you hit my brother?!”

“And didn't you hear what he said?”

“I did, but that's no reason to use violence, P'First! That's not okay! We're adults, we don't solve problems with violence. Besides, I think you should give my brother time. You know it's quite a shock for him, so he might say some stupid things, but look, he cares about the child”. 

“Exactly, he only cares about the child, and he doesn't care about my cousin. But it's my cousin who got hurt! It's him who has to cary on with the consequences! It's my nong Fourth who has the pay the price for it!”

Norawit shook his head in disbelief listening to this exchange. First sounded as if it wasn't Gemini who was doing everything Fourth asked him to do, as if it wasn't him sitting in the chair now with his legs shaking from stress, as if it wasn't him who kept replaying the scene in his head, where Fourth was screaming in pain, and he couldn't help him, couldn't relieve his suffering.

Gemini leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees and hanging his head sadly.  The fact that he didn't fight back, that he didn't say anything, and that he didn't hit back surprised everyone, so much so that Dunk and First even stopped their argument.

“You, go check on your brother.  This silence is somehow unlike him, I'm worried,” P'First ordered quietly, and P'Dunk calmly walked over, sat down on the empty chair next to his younger brother, and placed his hand on Gem's joined hands.

“Don't worry, Fourth and your daughter are strong, they'll get through this, nothing will happen to them. Doctor WanDee is a great doctor, he'll definitely help them. You have to be optimistic. And as for being gay... So what, even if you are? Although I think you're either pan or bi. I understand that you might be worried, because according to the traditions of our magical world it's something stigmatized, but answer me one question: why do you think there are male hybrids who can have children? Because according to the research I did with Phuwin, Fourth is not the only male hybrid that exists. Even today, there are about 10,000 of them in the whole of Thailand, so as you can see, that's a lot”.

“Ten thousand male hybrids?!  You didn't make a mistake?!”

“There's no way you could be mistaken, we've checked it. It's quite rare, but it does happen. After all, we have about 2 million wizards alone, and hybrids are mostly born into magical families”.

“Some male hybrids don't even know they're hybrids and until they're given a special potion, they remain regular guys. But that's completely normal. Just like it's normal to feel physical attraction to women or men or others, or even all at once. Nothing out of the ordinary”.  Phuwin added, confirming Dunk's words.

“Let me put it another way: just because you don't like dumplings or orange juice, that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. We have different preferences, we're different people, and that's fine. Even if it's hard for you to accept it now”.  P'First also threw his two cents into the conversation.
