The morning was already strange that day.

Prim sat down in the empty chair next to Fourth's bench.  This never happened, Prim was part of Gemini's gang and Fourth didn't remember her ever being particularly nice to him.  Most often, she simply ignored his existence, and he was kind of grateful for that, because at least she wasn't attacking and picking on him every chance she got.  Astonished by the girl's behavior, Nattawat widened his eyes and she smiled happily.

“Don't worry, Fourth, I'm just for a moment.”

“Did something happen?  Have I done something wrong?  Listen, when it comes to Gemini, I have nothing against him... uh... You know... Or maybe...?  Maybe you need help with something?  Maybe tutoring?” 

Fourth himself was lost in his own thoughts, feeling his nervousness grow.  Next to him, almost at arm's length, sat the girl who had recently been the reason for his mixed feelings.  On the one hand, at times she seemed very nice and friendly, but there were also moments when he would have liked to paint her face with coal or flour just to make it look a little uglier.

“You're a smart boy, Fourth.”  Prim nodded in approval.  “Yes, you're right, I need tutoring and I think that you, as the best student in our class, could give it to me?  Two hours a day should be enough.”

“Sure, no problem.  And when do you want to start?”

“As soon as possible.  It might even be after class with Professor Tay today.”

“Today?”

“Yes.  I care about this very much.  Please, Fourth.  You know I can't fail this class or my father will be furious.  Please”.

Fourth couldn't refuse her.  And as if in thanks, she placed her hand on his forearm and gave him a sincere smile, causing even more chaos in his thoughts.  He didn't even ask what tutoring Prim needed, he was too absorbed in his own thoughts and trying to solve the mystery: why did a girl who was so close to Norawit suddenly start talking to his greatest enemy?

Suddenly, they both heard someone with great strength and obviously very angry about something, with a loud clatter of metal legs, put the chair aside and sat down on it, placing the books on the counter in front of them even louder.  They both looked in that direction.

Gemini Norawit didn't even look at them, he just turned his back to them, staring at the view outside the window as usual.

“I'm sorry, Prim, but maybe you'd better go back to your boyfriend, I don't want to be the reason for an argument between you two, it's enough that Norawit hates me anyway”.

“Cool.  And thanks again.  So what?  Will I see you at my place tonight?  I have room 307, there is a sticker on the door from the Non-Magic fairy tale, Garfield the cat, such a cute, funny, thick red fur, you won't get lost.  See you!”

Prim stood up, waved at him as if they were best friends and returned to her seat, not missing the opportunity to "finish" Gem even more.  Prim leaned over him and whispered in his ear:

“You're a jealous person, Master Norawit.  You both deserve each other.”

And then, with the mischievous smile of a poltergeist who had played another trick on everyone, she sat down in her seat and immediately took out her phone to share her thoughts with her friend who had not yet arrived at class.

Primiily: I'm telling you, you were so damn right! You know that Gem was jealous?!

Primiily: why would I lie to you about something like that? Of course! I only asked Fourth to be my tutor and you know Gem's reaction?! I wish you were here, it was hillarious! 😂 At this point I'm able to believe that he'd killed me if I kissed his “enemy” for example 😂 this boy, who i call my friend is so unserious 🙈🤐 he acts like a girl on period! Once he's close to Fourth and the next moment he hates him! I swear my friend is DUMB dumb! 😂 You should see him now! He is offended 😭

Junewanwimol19: don't you dare to make me sad even more about the fact that I can't be there! Ugh, I really wish P'Off had given this task to someone else, like View or Namtan for example. Why me?! 😤😡

Primiily: don't complain, girl, at least you can leave unit and do something fun 😉

Primiily: later. P'Tay will be here in a moment and you know that with him you can't use a phone 🤦🏻‍♀️ what a dumb rule 🤦🏻‍♀️

When Professor Tay Tawan entered the room, the conversations stopped and Fourth focused on the topic of today's class.  This time they talked about curses.  Fourth, who had already studied the topic and had more knowledge than the other students, often volunteered to answer, irritating Gemini even more.

Joong, as usual, wasn't even going to pretend that he was interested in these lessons.  He was only here to pass the exam and finally receive the rune ceremony.  Pond nudged him in the shoulder and showed him something on his phone.  Joong chuckled, earning a sharp reaction from the professor.

Moments later, Joong shared a photo from Pond in the group chat.  Joong stood up, walked over to Phuwin, who was sitting in the bench with Dunk, and said.

“You are a lovely couple.”

Then he showed him a photoshopped photo of Phuwin and Dunk holding hands with heart and kiss emojis around them.  Phuwin turned red with anger.  He was getting up to respond to his feisty classmate when Professor Tay stepped between them, separating them to prevent a fight.

“Boys, boys, just calm down.  What is it about?"

“Professor, he's harassing us!”  Phuwin sounded so childish and absurd that half the students burst out laughing.  Gemini grimaced in solidarity with his maybe-still-friend, and Fourth smiled barely noticeably at the corners of his mouth.  Dunk slapped himself on the forehead with an open hand, whispering:

“Oh great wizard, who do I go to class with?!”

His exaggerated and dramatic reaction caused another wave of laughter and whispers.  All seriousness left the room and the professor realized that this was not going to be an easy day.

During the break, Gemini took the opportunity to tape a piece of paper with a big red "CHEATER" written on Prim's back while he pretended to pat her on the back while talking to her in a seemingly cheerful manner.  He pretended to forget what she said and did.

Meanwhile Fourth told everything that happened to his new friends, Poon and Pahn.

“Be careful, Fourth, she may do something nasty”, Pahn warned him, while decorating her grey backpack with flowers stickers that Chokun had given to her before the class started.

“Yeah, I will. I don't trust her at all, I feel something smelly”.

“Oh, it's probably Poon, who is smelly. He was at the gym and he didn't take a shower after that”, Pahn explained and Poon pretended to smell his own clothes.

“I don't smell that awfully. You are really bad sister. I wish I didn't ask my parents to return you”.

“Return me?! They should return you! You are the worst brother ever!”, Pahn wrinkled her nose playfully, crossed her arms and turned to Fourth:

“You're lucky that you have smart and lovely older sister because my brother... Oh, I'm not gonna consider him as a brother anymore. You are stranger to me from now on, khun Poon”.

This almost made Fourth smile.

Almost, because for him it was still very hard to put a honest smile on his own face.

A few hours later, Fourth, his heart trembling with anxiety and jerking in his chest, stood in front of the door of room 307. The girls got the lower floor, the boys the higher floor.  Additionally, there was a rule that boys were not allowed to stay in girls' bedrooms after 11:30 p.m. and no earlier than 5:30 a.m.  Fourth was always curious about who invented this rule and why, but he never found the answer to his question.

Fourth only wanted to go back to his own room.  Only there was one small (huge!) problem with it...

The same room was no longer his safe zone now that Norawit had taken up residence there (Nattawat still wondered what possessed him and why the young master had not asked for a change of tenant since he claimed to hate Fourth so much).

Fourth smoothed his hair with his hand, brushed an invisible speck of dust from his own shoulder, a gray, comfortable, slightly oversized T-shirt with the inscription NASA on it, took a deep breath and raised his clenched fist to knock.  The moment before his fist hit the material the door was made of (it was wood with some other materials, probably having magical properties), he stopped.

What if it was a trap?  What if this is just another prank that Gemini and Prim did together?  Perhaps these two want to do something to humiliate him?

No, no, that's definitely not the case.

Fourth didn't allow himself to think badly of Gem, especially now that he knew a little more about him.  Nattawat couldn't get over what had happened all day long, and what bothered him the most was the one part he couldn't seem to get out of his mind: the fact that Fourth had specifically called Gem Prim's boyfriend just to see her reaction.  Prim ignored his words, causing his thoughts to become even more confusing.

Fourth took three steps back, as if to return to his room, and then the door opened.  Prim stepped out into the corridor.  She was dressed in a comfortable denim skirt and a beautiful white blouse, partially hidden under a long-sleeved navy blue sweatshirt with a zipper.  She smiled when she saw him, as if she was really happy that Fourth had come after all.  But Fourth himself felt that he didn't understand anything at all.  As if he understood anything before...

“Hi Fourth!  Nice to see you again!  Come inside.”

Prim led him inside her room.  He was so overwhelmed by this encounter (even though he had tried to mentally prepare for it) that he didn't notice anything more than his slightly shaking hands and Prim's presence.

Twenty minutes later, Fourth felt much calmer.  It turned out that Prim really needed tutoring in Professor Earth's class.  However, Nattawat still couldn't trust her.  He had a bad feeling that this girl would cause a lot of problems in the future.  For now, however, he decided to patiently explain to her those issues that she did not understand.
