Zen || Child
When you started getting serious in your relationship with Zen, he had told you he wasn't good with kids. You knew it was because he grew up on his own without any younger children around for him to learn, and you didn't blame him for that. You loved him and understood what he was trying to say.
When the media found out that the two of you were living together, they had a field day about future kids. It seemed like all of Korea wanted more of Zen's looks blessed upon them... The RFA seemed to be infected by the media as well, Seven being the main cause of the teasing with Yoosung and even Jumin sometimes joining in. Zen wasn't too happy with them, but he couldn't hide his blush at the thought of kids anymore.
When you were married two years later, a lot of people suspected that it was a shotgun wedding. Zen was so flustered at the thought that he almost called off the wedding to prove to them that I wasn't pregnant. No one in the RFA -myself included- would let him and the wedding proceeded as normal.
It was a beautiful wedding, the best that Zen could offer. I had told him when he started dating that I wanted a Spring wedding with lots of flowers, and I was pleasantly surprised that he had remembered. I was even more surprised when his family had shown up, formally apologizing to him for everything they did in his childhood. I had smiled when I saw Zen trying to hide his watery eyes from them and welcomed them into the party.
With both of our parents now apart of our lives, the teasing and insistence for starting a family grew tenfold. Zen joked one night that we should move far away to a small island and live the rest of our days in peace, but I told him that even then they would track us down. There was truly no escape from the parents where grandkids were concerned.
You couldn't say when exactly you saw the change in him, or when exactly he stopped freaking out when Seven's twins would crawl into his lap, but one day you noticed how he smiled and willingly opened his arms around the children. Your eyes would follow him around when you visited Seven's family, watching as he and Seven happily played with the toddlers.
And then it happened, the moment that all the parents and RFA members had been waiting for. You announced at the latest party that you were pregnant. You remember being swarmed by your friends with congratulations and best wishes, but you noticed a lack of attention from your husband. When you broke free of the crowd, you found him standing where he was before and eyes wide. You were worried a bit as you approached him until he suddenly brought you into a tight hug, whispering into your ear about how happy he was. You smiled as tears started to fill both of your eyes, you feeling relieved and Zen feeling an overwhelming sense of joy and pride.
You knew that he would make a wonderful dad, he showed it already around the kids in his life. It was you that you were worried about... Would you be a good mom? Would you understand what all the baby's cries would be or what that baby wanted? Would you be able to handle all the late nights and early mornings and everything in between? Would you be able to discipline your child justly if they did something wrong or would you let your anger get the best of you? So many worries swarmed your head, but Zen put them all to rest.
He pulled you close to him one night and traced his hand on your growing stomach. He told you that you would be the best mom ever. After all, you were able to understand him by just a look, it would be nothing for you to understand the noises your baby would make. The two of you already stayed up late into the night and woke up early for work, so you'd be able t handle the baby's schedule. And he was positive that you would never let your anger get the best of you when it came to your child. Such simple words and a soft voice was able to calm every nerve from your body.
There was one concern you didn't tell your dear husband though... And that was if you would be able to handle the labor. You knew that you would survive it, but just the thought of the pain that would come had you shivering in dread. 'It's all for the baby,' You would tell yourself.
When the baby finally came, you were shocked at how fast the delivery was and it was only a short time in pain. And soon your baby girl was welcomed into the world.
"Now remember, sweetie," Zen said, kneeling in front of your daughter. "All boys are wolves, you can't trust any of them, okay?"
You smiled to yourself as you watched the two of them. It was (D/N)'s first day of school and as much as Zen wanted to come as well, he was called in to work today.
Tears started to form in (D/N)'s eyes as she looked at her daddy before crying out and running to hide behind your legs. You laughed lightly as you placed a hand on her head, looking at Zen as he frowned.
"No, daddy isn't a wolf...! You can trust daddy!" He opened his arms to her, but she only shrunk back behind you more.
"Lovely Zen, maybe you should save that speech until she's older."
The pout that formed on Zen's face was adorable, you couldn't help but lean down and place a soft kiss on his lips. "Don't worry, she'll have forgotten all about this by the time she comes home."
Reluctantly, he nodded and stood up, giving you a kiss this time. "Alright. Be safe out there, both of you. I don't want anything to happen to my two precious girls"
"Of course, and you have a good day at work."
The three of you stepped out of the house and walked to the sidewalk together before parting ways. You made it only a few yards away from each other when your daughter suddenly turned around and ran back to Zen.
"Daddy!"
The man turned around with wide eyes, kneeling down with his arms open to catch his crying daughter. "Baby, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"I don't care if daddy is a wolf! I love daddy!" She wailed into his shoulder. You shared a look with your husband and you knew by the look in his eyes that he was going to skip work this morning. He was the star of their movie, so he could make them wait just a bit.
As Zen held your daughter in one arm, he reached the other out to you and wrapped it around your waist as he started walking toward the school.
