Uno || Savior
Uno from Nanbaka, because I will marry this man one day!
An arrogant laugh filled the area of the dark room, people gathering around a table to watch what was happening. The laugh was coming from a young man with long blonde hair and pink highlights that was pulled back into a high ponytail; he was wearing a cheap suit and a proud smirk on his face as he collected money from the center of a table.
"Hehe, looks like I win again...!" He cheered, starting to stack the money up.
"Uno, you cheating bastard!" A man yelled as he stood up and slammed his hands on the table, gritting his teeth as he glared at the blonde man.
"Hey, don't hate me just because you have a very obvious tell!" Uno chuckled as he stood up and started to collect his money. He wasn't always the smartest, but he knew when to leave.
"Hold on, Uno!" Another voice called as a man walked into the underground casino, an evil smirk on his face. "I've got something to bet against you with now."
Uno sighed as he saw the man with bright orange hair. He had just taken every dime from this man an hour or so ago, he wasn't in the mood to deal with his denial now...
"Not anymore, Jiro. I need to leave now-" Uno's eyes widened as his words were cut short at the sight of what Jiro was planning on betting with.
There was a girl there, about the same age as him. Her (H/C) hair was tangled and a mess, her clothes were torn slightly and she had bruises on her face. Jiro was holding her arm tightly and Uno was sure that it would leave a mark on her. But what struck Uno the most was the (E/C) eyes filled with fear.
"You like women, right, Uno? I've got this fine girlie here that will be all yours if you beat me again. Come on, play another game with me."
Uno looked between Jiro and the girl, his handsome face set in firm determination. He nodded at the chair across from him as he sat back down.
"Shut up and sit already, you sick freak."
Jiro smirked as he yanked the girl with him to the chair, forcing her to sit down next to him and cuffing her hands to the table. He leaned over and whispered something into the girl's ear that made her pale and tears to form in her eyes. Uno's blood ran cold as he watched the girl's pretty face contort more and more into one of permanent fear. He would save her, definitely.
The two were dealt in, Uno looking at the girl and trying to give her a soft smile but she wouldn't look up from her lap to see his gaze. So he would just have to win and show her that everything would be fine.
~One Hour Later~
"No!" Jiro yelled, looking at the cards that Uno just dropped on the table with a smirk. "You cheated again! I demand a rematch!"
"Sorry, Jiro, but you don't have any money left and this lovely lady and I are going to leave before you go kidnap another one." Uno stood up and once again collected his money before walking to the girl that was slowly looking up at him. He smiled and reached a hand down to her, but her hands stayed cuffed to the table.
"I won't allow you to run away that easily, Uno...!" Jiro growled, his heavy hand holding the poor girl down. Uno narrowed his eyes as he clenched his fists.
"Jiro, we are done. Leave it alone now."
"Not until I beat you and get my money back!"
Uno clenched his teeth. If only Jyugo was here to break her out of the cuffs, then this would end up a lot easier. But Uno couldn't allow a woman to be disrespected like this and would do anything to save her.
He reached his hands into his pockets, pulling out all the cash he won that night and slapped it down on the table. "Take it! Just give me the girl now!"
Jiro's eyes widened in lust for the money, reaching out and grabbing it all to his chest as he started to reach for it, but Uno's hand was still there.
"The keys, Jiro..."
The ginger man growled lowly before digging in his pocket and pulling the keys out and tossing them to Uno as he went to grab the money again, Uno letting his hand up as he uncuffed the girl. He helped her up and wrapped an arm around her waist as he led her out of the building.
"Are you alright? Not hurt, are you?"
The girl shook her head slightly as she kept her eyes down. "I'm fine..."
He frowned slightly as he looked her over, seeing that she was in jeans and a t-shirt, which crossed out her being a prostitute. Or she could just be an off-duty one...? He doubted it. So that must mean that the girl was kidnapped.
"I'll help you catch a cab, come on." He smiled at her as she followed closely behind him. He glanced at her and wondered how long she had been kept captive to be acting like that. He smiled softly and held his hand out to her.
"Hold my hand, I'll make sure that they don't come to take you again."
She looked up at him slightly before returning his smile and slowly putting her hand in his. "Thank you."
He smiled more as he led her along to a busier part of the city, cabs everywhere for her to go home. Uno flagged one down and opened the door for her while pulling his wallet out.
"This is all I have on me now, I hope it can help you."
She looked down, seemingly embarrassed as she fidgeted.
"What's wrong?"
"Um... Well... It's just that... I'm visiting here with my family, I don't know the address of my aunt's house..."
Uno blinked before smiling with a chuckle. "Ah, I see. That is a bit of a problem, huh?" Uno closed the cab door and took a step back from the road, thinking of what they would do now. He could take her to a police station, but then he'd probably be arrested again. He could leave her outside of the police station... Then they wouldn't know he had anything to do with it.
"Alright, I'll take you to a police station then, they'll be able to help a lot more than I can." He smiled at her as she returned it with downcast eyes.
"Thank you for all of this... I don't know what would have happened to me if you hadn't been there to help."
Uno started walking again, the girl's hand still in his as she followed after him. "How did he get you, if you don't mind me asking?"
It was quiet for a while, Uno almost thought that she wasn't going to answer. But then she squeezed his hand slightly and sighed. "My aunt is sick, so my mom brought me and my brother here to help her out for a while. My boyfriend didn't like the fact that he would be spending Valentine's Day alone and got together with a girl from school... My friend called to tell me about it, but when my mom asked me what was wrong, I snapped at her and ran outside. I guess I blamed her for taking me away from home and causing Eric to do this... I know it wasn't really her fault, but I just needed to take my anger out somehow. I was about a block away from my aunt's when a van pulled onto the sidewalk in front of me and two men jumped out. After that, I blacked out and don't remember anything before being dragged into that casino."
Uno frowned as he grit his teeth. He hated men like Jiro more than he hated pretty boys. Uno was lucky that he was there that night, or this girl would have had a worse fate. Knowing most of the men in that place would never let a prize like her go.
"I'm sorry to hear that... I'm glad I was there though, I almost didn't go tonight. A friend wanted me to go clubbing with him, but I felt like gambling instead." He chuckled, but with hardly any humor in such a serious topic. "What's your name? I'm Uno."
"I'm (Y/N). I'm glad you were there as well, I won't ever be able to thank you enough for this."
"Don't mention it-"
A loud grumble cut Uno off as he blinked, pausing in his walk as he looked at her with wide eyes. (Y/N)'s face went dark red as she looked down and placed a free hand on her stomach.
"I-I'm so sorry...!"
A small chuckle left Uno as he smiled and looked around for somewhere to eat. "Don't apologize, it's fine. When was the last time you ate?" He gently pulled her along to a small diner that was open 24/7.
"Um... Two days ago?"
"What?!" Uno's eyes widened as he looked at her in disbelief. He quickly pulled her inside and seated them both, telling her to order as much as she wanted.
(Y/N) glanced at Uno from over the menu, taking in his strange features. She had never met anyone like him before, with long blond hair to the floor and pink highlights, his bright blue eyes, and the small tooth that poked out when he grinned. He was pretty handsome too... and nice... Her old boyfriend would never fully pay for her food, they would always split the tab or she would pay it all.
When it came time to order -and later eat- Uno kept her smiling and happy with his jokes and stories. He had admitted to going to jail numerous times, and breaking out just as many. (Y/N) wasn't scared of him though, there was no way she could be to someone with a smile as bright as his.
They sat there and talked even after they finished eating, and before either of them knew it, it was already three in the morning.
"Oh man, I'm sorry. I kept you out later than I should have. Your family is probably worried sick." Uno said as he paid the bill and helped the girl get out of the booth. (Y/N) felt bad, she hadn't thought of her family fretting over her absence...
"Don't apologize, you made me feel a lot better. Thank you for all of this; and if you do get sent back to prison one day, write to me. I'll be sure to visit you."
Uno smiled as he took her hand and led her out and to the nearest station. "Of course, I'd be honored to have such a pretty girl visit me. All the other inmates would be so jealous."
He winked at her as she blushed but laughed, already used to Uno's flirtatious side. "Whatever you say, lover boy."
As they walked and talked, Uno forgot about his plan of staying outside the station. He sighed in defeat as cuffs were placed on his wrists. (Y/N) stood off to the side with a guilty expression, trying to tell the few police officers that were there to let him go and that he helped her. Uno smiled at her thoughtfulness.
As he was being led to the holding cells, he pleaded for a second to say goodbye to (Y/N) and was granted one.
He leaned down and placed a kiss on her cheek with a smile. "I'll hold you to that promise of visiting me, cutie. Happy Valentine's Day." He winked at her as he was forced out the offices and to the back.
(Y/N)'s eyes widened as she placed a hand on her cheek gently before looking over at a nearby desk calendar. It was, in fact, Valentine's Day.
Well, this meant that she would have to make due on her promise for her to be able to spend more time with him.
