The gleaming beam of the sun penetrated undeviatingly into the car, making the person driving to pull down the sun visor, to protect his eyes from the rays.
Thameem slightly smiled glancing at his sister, who was pestered by the sunbeams piercing on her face. He was even astonished by heeding the weather which was remarkably sunny, unlike how it was in the morning with heavy rain and thunder.
"How much long Bhai! We have been travelling for more than one hour now." Sheha whined, looking at her brother and twin, Sabah, who sat in the back seat.
"Mmm..." He trailed off gazing at the screen on the car, which showed their destination.
"Just half an hour more, I guess. Because that's what google says" He winked saying.
"You guess? What if your google is wrong! I'm HUNGRY, bro!" Sheha roared.
"That's what is bothering you, huh? I know you love travelling and was wondering why you were whining." He snickered. "Hold your hunger a little more. I'll stop at the next nearby restaurant."
She hummed as a response and glanced at Sabah whispering, "Ask him".
"So Bhai, you still haven't told us exactly where or why we are going to find that girl." Sabah started.
"And who is she?" Sheha added asking.
"Even I don't know who she is." He bluntly answered.
"Don't lie!" The twins responded in unison.
"I'm not lying, and why would I? Also, on why we are hunting her, I'll say it to you both after seeing her."
"No, please say it now. We have all the rights to know at least a little about our Bhabhi." Sabah stated.
"She is not your Bhabhi! This is not what you guys think. It is some work-related case."
"Then tell us what it is. And we will decide if she can be our Bhabhi or not." Sheha chuckled.
"Is it still not clear to you both that she is NOT your Bhabhi!"
"Why not?"
"Okay, fine, I'll say. She is one of the cashier in the cafe I work, and you both know very well that I never engage in talking with others unnecessarily. But, one day-"
His narration was cut off in mid-sentence when Sheha squealed, " And one day you both talked then fell in love!"
"YESS" Sabah rejoined.
"Ya Allah. Girls, come out from your fictional world of novels and movies! Real-life is different from these fantasies!" Thameem retorted.
"This is what all the male characters say. Right Sheha?"
"Yes! Now Bhai, finish the story, and we will tell you how the climax will be even though its quite predictable." Sheha winked and nudged him to continue the incident.
The car came to a halt at the nearby restaurant, which was Karachi Darbar. They settled on the seats, and Thameem started to narrate the rest of the story, explaining each and every single detail.
Upon hearing the whole incident, the twins were beyond horrified as they never expected a backstory like this. They dropped some of their suggestions on why she may have done this, stealing money. However, nothing was making them any sense because of how she behaved lastly, glancing at the CCTV. They felt like to watch the video them sleeves for proper understanding of her character.
"How can she fool my Bhai like this by acting innocent!" Sheha screeched, banging on the table.
"It seemed like she had a reason for it, and I'm dying to know what it is," Sabah stated.
They resumed their journey after discussing the possibilities of her reasons, and the twins were ready with tons of questions to ask her. They knew that Thameem would be hesitating a little to initiate questions sternly.

She slackly stirred up from deep slumber, with a smirk on her grimace. Grabbing the television remote near the side table, she switched it on to check the news.
The first channel didn't have the news which she wanted so, she switched to the next and then the next till she saw all the news channels.
"Huh? Why is there no news about it?" She murmured.
Feeling irritated, she grabbed her phone to check whether there was any news on the Internet. However, to her surprise, there was none. There was no news related to what she wanted to see.
Throwing away the duvet from her body, she marched towards the washroom to take a hot shower as last night's work had completely drained out her energy. Nevertheless, the hot shower was not giving her any peace as she assumed.
Wrapping a towel around her, she grabbed black jeans, a white crop top and a denim jacket from her wardrobe. She wore her favourite set of rings and took out the cardigan she wore yesterday where the money was kept safe.
Pulling out the money leisurely, she started counting each note. Each penny in her hands gave a strange satisfaction and she smirked after counting the total cash. But one thing was disturbing her even after getting all the money. A strange feeling of unsatisfaction.
So she grabbed her small red sling bag and strolled outside.

"I guess this is the house." Thameem declared, gazing at the traditional looking off-white two-story house in front of him. It looked like an isolated house in the middle of nowhere.
"Are you sure this is the house?" Sabah inquired.
"Hope so." Saying this, he proceeded to ring the bell and waited for almost five minutes.
"She might have escaped! No one would stay at home after stealing that much money." Sheha stated.
He did think of this possibility of her running away. But something in him told that she might be there. Firmly believing in his intuition, he rang the bell again, hoping that someone might open it momentarily.
A couple of minutes passed like that, standing outside and staring at the gate. When he was about to walk away, a mere sound was heard. Betokening that the rusty gate was opening.
A man in his mid-fifties came in view, wearing a shabby kurta. He fixed his spectacles and scrutinised the unknown people in front of him.
"Who are you?" The man sternly asked.
"Sir, I am Thameem, working at Drip Cafe with your daughter. Is she home?"
"How many times do I have to tell you that I don't have a daughter! I live here alone." He sharply replied.
"S-sorry, Sir?"
"I said I don't have a daughter, and it has been more than five months since you asked the same question. Why are you searching for her here again!?"
"M-months? Sorry, I can't understand what you are saying. I'm here for the first time." Thameem was extremely confused on what was going on.
"What is going on, Bhai?" Sheha whispered.
"Aren't you here to ask about that Teacher girl, who took your money?" He inquired.
"Teacher? She works as a cashier." Being confused, Thameem took out the paper from his pocket which had her profile, along with a photo. Thousands of thoughts were running on his mind at that moment.
"Is she the same person who was asked by the other people?"
The man keenly examined the photo, fixing his old glass and replied, "Yes, she is the one. Except for that name, thick specs and long hair."
Then, who is she?
"WOW BRO! Seems like she has scammed money from more people by fake identities!" Sheha affirmed, being appalled.
He didn't know what to reply as he was out of words. Never in his entire life, he had confronted a fraud person like this and that too a girl. Even after witnessing her taking all the money from the video, he still had a small hope that she might have taken it for her emergency purpose. But by hearing the information from the man, he was astounded.
"Sir, this is my number. Please call me when there is any news about this girl. Don't hesitate to call me even if someone comes and asks about her."
He left from there along with his sisters after exchanging the phone number. He had no idea from where to search her now. The address was fake, identity might also be, and the column for the phone number on her profile was left blank. For now, he decided to report this incident to his boss and take the next step after that.
"She turns out to be a con artist, right? That was totally unexpected" Sabah said after getting on the car.
"I know right! Now I badly want to meet this girl and break her legs." Sheha declared, planning ways to break the leg.
He ignored the comments from his sisters and started driving, back to their city. The ride back was silent, and both the girls were fast asleep by the tiring long journey.
They were almost nearing to their house but Thameem halted his car in front of the Masjid as they hadn't performed the Asr prayer. And the sun was almost descending.
"Wake up, Let's pray and head back home after that." He said, nudging up the twins.
Abruptly taking ablution, he proceeded to pray without wasting any seconds and decided to go back after the Magrib prayer. He felt a continuous vibration from his pocket whilst taking Dhikr but decided to check his phone later after making Dua to his lord.
By the time he finished his dua, the vibration from the phone ended. He pulled out his phone and checked who had been calling him like this continuously. The person who always calls him continuously like this was Shazil.
But surprising him, it was an unknown number, and he had a bad habit of not calling back to new numbers. Staring at the phone, he waited for it to ring again and within a few seconds, his screen flashed with the same unknown number.
Thameem walked out from the Masjid as he didn't like talking on the phone inside a place where people come to pray. Swiping his finger, he attended the call.
"Meet me tomorrow at Hotel Jumeirah." A female voice said.
"Sorry, who is this?"
"This is me!"
"Me? Who?"
"Thanaz. If you want to meet me, come sharp at 7 p.m." Declaring this she ended the call.
