Clara's POV:

Clara felt less alone with the fluffy orange kitten around the house but something felt off everytime John would leave for work. He would leave too early or act suspicious as he walked out the door. Everytime he got home he was nervous or tired. I'm probably being crazy... He loves me, he wouldn't leave me... Right? Clara sometimes found herself thinking at times of sadness. She couldn't loose him again, she wouldn't be able to survive it.

John's POV:

Clara was wonderful in every single possible way. He loved her with all his heart, really, he did. John wanted to spend the rest of his life with Clara. Never did he ever want to loose his Clara. Everything about her made him beam. Beam in bright colours of pastel pink and baby blue. If John was to loose Clara, he'd never ever love again. At least not truly or fully. John wasn't going to loose Clara, he couldn't. He was going to make sure Clara was always his. And ask her to marry him. (A/N: HOLY SHERLOCK! TA-DA!)

John had never been married before and didn't really know how to go about the whole thing. Buying a ring would be easy, but asking her would be the hardest thing he'd ever done. What if she said no? What would John do? What would they do as a couple in general?

John, no. Don't freak out, just ask her when you feel it's best. John said to himself while he sat in his classroom after class one afternoon. The clock on his computer screen showed 6:56pm. He was going to pick out a ring for Clara in an hour. John had called in a private appointment so he could pick his ring and not feel too much pressure. Sighing, he picked up his bag full of books and folders and walked out of the classroom--not forgetting to lock it on his way out. He grinned to himself happily while walking to his car. Something in his stomach hurt--but the good type of hurt. It was like that feeling you get on Christmas eve and you're restless, waiting for the morning sun to rise to see what your parents bought you.

The trip to the mall jewelry shop was calm and John even turned on the radio to listen to a local music station. Once he reached the shop the clerk took him into a back room to observe some rings that the lady thought John and Clara would enjoy. "Well, if you need anymore rings just ask. But I picked out a few that I thought your beloved would enjoy." The lady said--her name was Flora-- in a deeply London accent. She wore a knee-length, tight blue pencil skirt with a matching suit shirt. Flora smelt of cheap perfume and mashed potatoes. (A/N: Don't ask, blame @skawdz2250)

John smiled faintly, not wanting to be rude. "Thank you, Flora. Could I see that ring right there?" He pointed to a silver ring with a small but beautiful sparkly diamond that sat in the corner of the glass box on the table in front of him.

She nodded and smiled fakely. Flora took the ring out of the case and set it on the counter in front of her. John looked at it in his hands and looked at the shining stone. "It's absolutely perfect, really. How much?"

Flora told him the price, which wasn't cheap but affordable. John thought for a moment until agreeing to buy the engagement ring. It was surprisingly easy to pick out a ring for Clara. John had glanced at the other rings but none of them had stuck out like the one he picked did.

After he bought the ring--luckily he had his credit card and had no trouble buying it--John wandered through the mall in search of something he could give Clara as an excuse for being late home. A few minutes went by and John had already bought a large brown teddy bear that was almost bigger than him. Will it even fit in the bleedin' care? John had thought to himself, obviously joking. When he reached his car, stuffed the teddy bear in and put the small bag with the ring into the middle console. He drove away from the mall with a happy heart and a grin.

Clara' POV:

Where was he?! He had gotten off work two hours ago!

Clara was growing increasingly more panicked as the time ticked by. Calm down, Clara. You're being crazy. You're just crazy. Just bloody calm down! Clara said to herself when the clock hit 8:00pm. It was already dark outside and Clara just wanted him home. She was being foolishly self conscious about the whole thing.

Clara heard the front door open from the living room and ran to hug John. But she couldn't; there was a giant teddy bear in his arms. "John?" Clara giggled, her mood now quite happy.

John popped his head from behind the teddy bear and grinned; he set the bear on the floor and hugged her. "Sorry I'm late, got held up with helping a student." he kissed her nose before picking up the bear and handing it to her.

A student? Just a student? Right? Clara, shut up. He loves you... Clara thought to herself, stroking the soft fake fur of the teddy bear. "Ohh... okay." she smiled weakly.

John looked at her, now in the kitchen pouring warm water into a teacup and dropping a teabag in the water; making a soft splash! "You okay, dear?"

Clara set the bear on the couch and stood beside him, "Yeah.. just--I missed you." Clara kissed his cheek. "I'm going to bed, I'm really tired. Come in when you want. I love you, John." She looked up into his icy blue ices.

"I love you, too, dear." he chuckled and pecked her on the lips softly. Oh god, I love him so much.

"I really really love you. Remember that?" Clara insisted.

"Yeah, of course."

"Promise?"

"I promise." John said before putting his right hand behind her neck and pulling her in for a long kiss. Clara moaned into the kiss and wrapped her arms around John's waist. He pulled away only to smirk that smirk that just drove Clara crazy.

Clara playfully punched his arm and kissed him again, this time only for a moment. "Goodnight, love." He's only keeping me around until he finds someone better. But I love him..

"Goodnight." he whispered as she walked off to their bedroom. She is my forever love. I love her so much.
