Is this what we've turned to

as a human race ?

texting to afraid

to talk face to face

wearing masks everyday

to hide our disgrace

putting on makeup

to cover the mistakes

saying pretty comments

behind best friends backs

always talking trash

about others we hate

wanting to be popular

but you need to lose weight

causing drama

because you're bored

I'm sick of this society

that we're moving toward

what happened to humanity

to kindness and compassion

to best friends forever

never caring about fashion

smiling because we're happy

and talking because we care

I used to have hope in us

a vision of light

and now all I can see

is a dark dying sight
