Chapter 2: Alone...
Darkiplier's P.O.V:
I was awoken by the annoying ring of my alarm clock. Turning over in my bed, I look at the time. 11:30 pm. (For those of you who are confused, Dark is sort of nocturnal) I sigh and press the off button and roll back onto by back, rubbing my tired face and looking up at the ceiling. Was I really gonna put up with todays disappointments?
Yes.
I sit up, letting the silk covers fall down my torso. I shift my legs over the edge of my bed and stand, walking over to my closet and get dressed in my usual suit. I look in a mirror and straiten my tie and run my hands through my matted black hair. Stepping out of the room and into the hallway, I notice the moon's glow shining though the window. I look out at the beautiful night sky and smile a little, this time of year always had gorgeous skies. I stand there for a moment, taking in the scenery, when I see a puff of smoke travel across the lake. I raise an eyebrow and stepping closer to the window. No doubt it was just some campers, but they usually don't come this far. I place my grey hand on the window and focused on the campsite. My eyes glow a faint shade of red as my vision enhance incredibly.
I saw three tents and a fire that was still burning. Stupid humans. Didn't anyone ever tell them that you put out a fire if your not going to be using it anymore. As the smoke changed directions, it revealed a beautiful young woman with gorgeous (H/l) (H/c) hair gazing into the flames. I stand there watching her before being interrupted by my Demon Hound, Apollo. He sat next to me with his head held high and his wings folded back. He looked like a Earth wolf, but his horns and wings gave away that he was not a normal canine. I look down at him and see something in his mouth. He looks up at me and gently drops the item in his mouth, at my feet. I pick it up and see that it was a letter with a familiar addressed to me but no name from the sender. I flip the letter over and see an all too familiar pink mustache insignia printed on the envelope. I roll my eyes and give Apollo a pat on the head.
I walk to the living room and snapped my fingers. Instantly, a fire blazed in the fireplace and I take one final glance at the letter before throwing it into the blaze. I don't care for my younger brother's letters. Every letter was the same. It would start off 'hello, I miss seeing you' type thing then later brag about his girlfriend, Riley. All his letters do is remind me of how alone I am. I watch the letter burn and turn to ash before my eyes. I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose as I sit down on my black leather couch.
"there's got to be something better to do than sulk in my own self pity..."
I hear the click clack of Apollo's claws on the floor and watch him curl up by the fire. I smile slightly and stand up to leave Apollo to sleep. Apollo guards my estate during the day and sleeps the rest of the night. He knows that if I'm awake, I'll keep watch of the estate at night. I look at the clock on the wall and see that it it already 12:14 pm. I make my way to the kitchen and open my freezer and take out three frozen steaks and set them on a plate on the counter to thaw out. I gave Apollo them before i would go back to sleep so he could be well fed for the day. but, as my luck would have it, we're running out and its too late to go to any stores. So I'll have to go out and get more again... in the day time. I hate the day time. I've considered just letting Apollo just eating the deer outside, but I don't want him getting sick or completely decimating the population of wildlife in our area, so I guess I'm stuck with going out in the broad daylight.
While I was in the kitchen, brewed myself a cup of coffee and made myself some bacon and eggs. and prepared for the rest of the night...
Alone.
