Rights of the parents:
1) they should be treated with kindness.
2) should be taken care of when they get old or need help.
3) should be remembered in prayers and supplications.
4) should be obeyed in whatever they ask you that is according to the sharia.
5) their debts should be paid by the remaining family members when they die.
6) should be given a good send off when they die.
7) children should continue to pray for them even after they have died.

Duties if the parents:
1) should provide both religious and moral guidance to the family members.
2) should provide companionship to their children
3) should provide the basic needs for the family.
4) should provide security for the family property.
5) should pray for the well being of their children
6) should treat all their children fairly without discrimination
7) should give their children good names.

Rights of the children
1) should be provided with both religious and secular Education.
2) should be given good names.
3) should be given security and protection from external danger and influence which may lead to misguidance and injury.
4) right to be loved and shown affection equally.
5) right to legitimately and know their rightful parents.
6) should inherit from their parents when they die

Duties of children:
1) should assist their parents with the household chores.
2) should respect their parents.
3) should pray for their parents and other relatives.
4) they should pay their parents debts when they die.
5) should take good care of the family property.
6) should honour the friends of their parents even after the death of the parents.

The parents have to take their children to go learn the religious aspects. We learn that in an institution called madrasa.

The children have to dress up in the dressing code followed in our culture and religion and should be taught to read the Qur'an in early age.

The parents have to make sure that the kids recite Qur'an often and help them in the correct way of reciting. They should also sit and read together with the children at least twice a day, once in the morning before starting with the daily activities and again in the evening after finishing all the day's activities.
