Chapter 25 : Gorgerella

♡ Jessica Woods ♡

We took a taxi and reached the hospital in less than no time but I didn't surprise when I saw Jace's car was parked in the parking lot as he might've driven at high speed.

His grandma's eyes were filled with tears as she slowly got down from the taxi with my help and I wrapped my arm around her guiding the way.

"Nothing would've happened to Georgia, grandma." I whispered and she nodded slowly.

"I hope so.. and call me nanny." she told and I smiled at her before looking around at the lobby. We approached the receptionist and I inquired about Georgia and she told me that she was in the ICU which was located in the second floor. I thanked her before making my way towards there along with nanny.

ICU? Oh God, I hope she's okay.

As soon as we stepped into the second floor with the help of elevator, I saw Jace whose backside was facing us and talking with a lady who didn't seem to be a doctor, and Nanny and I slowly approached him.

"Jace? Where's Georgia?" nanny's worried voice was enough to stop whatever conversation Jace was having with the lady and he turned around swiftly and grunted when his eyes met us. He closed his eyes for a moment, exhaling loudly before approaching nanny and held her arms gently.

"Nothing nanny. Relax." he said reassuringly and when nanny looked past him, he motioned to the lady. "She is.. Georgia's drama in-charge teacher. She's the one who called the ambulance."

Where is Alex?

I glanced around the less-crowded hallway but didn't spot that guy.

"Thankyou." nanny mouthed at the teacher and she smiled sweetly back at her. Jace stole a glance at me but his gaze seemed to be cold for some strange reason.

"Well.. did she lose any blood?" nanny asked and the teacher folded her lips, nodding slowly.

"Yeah, a little too much and the reason we called the ambulance was, it didn't stop bleeding after we kept ice-pack too, plus she had passed out on the spot." she explained and nanny gasped, covering her mouth with her hands and when Jace glanced down at his grandma, his jaw clenched and he shot me an icy glare before marching towards me.

"Why the hell did you bring her?" he hissed and I flinched at his tone. "And most importantly, what the hell are you doing here? You told me you gotta go, didn't you?" he snapped and I stared at him open-mouthed as I didn't know why on earth was he snapping at me out of the blue.

When I didn't respond anything he groaned and turned around, facing the wall and ran his fingers through his dark hair. I guess, nanny might've noticed his sudden attitude change as she walked towards our way and slapped his arm as an attempt of making him look at her.

"Is this the way you treat a girl, young man? I thought you've grown up." she rebuked and Jace's eyes met mine for a split second. "And why can't I come here? She's my granddaughter after all." nanny threw her hands in the air and Jace sighed.

"Nanny, But you're a heart patient-"

"That doesn't change the fact that I'm her nanny. I deserve to know what happened to her as much as you do." she argued.

"No, I didn't mean it like that. I'm saying th-that doctors were doing their best but haven't said any word till now so what if she.." he gulped audibly and his grandma sighed, rubbing his arm.

"I can understand, son. Don't worry. Nothing that my heart couldn't bear is gonna happen so don't freak out." she comforted his grandson and patted his chest, whispering something to him and he locked his eyes with mine as he nodded slowly.

I furrowed my brows when he approached me with a guilt look on his face. His grandma who was now standing behind him smiled at me reassuringly before making her way to the teacher.

"I'm sorry." he mumbled, looking down at his shoes and I smiled in return, shaking my head.

"That's okay."

If I didn't know any better I would've hurt by his words and stomped off, but at this present time I knew Jace more than he thought I did. Right now he was emotionally messed up as his beloved sister was in the hospital. I don't think Alex knew this because if he did, he probably would've come by now despite the arguments they had for trivial matters.

"Take care of nanny." I told him and he looked up at my face, furrowing his brows. I smiled again and about to turn around but his grip on my forearm stopped me.

"You're going?" he asked quietly and I folded my lips, holding back my smile.

"If my memory serves me right, you're the one who wanted me to go." I reminded him and he let out a huge sigh.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I was.. pissed at that time. I didn't mean to snap at you at all. I want you to.. stay with me." he told me at the same time he released my hand out of his grip and I felt my heart warmed at the phrase he said.

With great pleasure.

"I'm just gonna call my mom to inform that I've to break the curfew time today as I'm gonna stay here." I announced and his forehead creased in confusion.

"When is your curfew time?"

"10 p.m." I replied and he opened his mouth and closed it, eyeing me cautiously.

"I have to inform Alex too." I told but he was still looking at me with a shocked expression on his face.

"Y-You're gonna stay here overnight?" he questioned and I shrugged nonchalantly. He blinked his eyes continuously and turned his head away, muttering. "Thankyou."

I smiled and walked away from there. When I reached the lobby of the hospital, I took my phone out of my jeans pocket and dialed mom's number and placed it on my ear as it started to ring.

"Jessie?" mom answered after the third ring. "Where are you?"

"Hey mom, well.. I'm at the hospital so don't wait for me for the dinner. Maybe I'd get home late." I informed and heard a gasp on the other end.

"Why on earth are you at hospital? What happened to you?" she panicked and I sighed.

"Mom, nothing happened to me. My friend's sister has admitted in the hospital and-"

"It's none of your concern, Jessie. If-"

"Oh mom, she's Georgia. Alex's closest friend who came to our home and had dinner with us while back, Remember?" I told.

"Oh yeah.. that little chick. Is Alex there too?" she asked and I rolled my eyes as I shouldn't have expected 'Oh honey, is she okay?' or some concerned phrases from my mom. Because she was the Rachel Woods who was well known for the couldn't-careless attitude.

"No mom. He isn't, but he's on his way now." I lied and heard an 'oh' on the other end.

"Okay, but seriously why are you so concerned about that one? Again I'm telling you that it's none of your business-"

"Mom she's like your daughter." I cut her off and she gasped for no reason.

"Daughter? Jessie, I would never ever cheat on your dad."

I groaned underneath my breath and wondered whether she was serious for the whole time.

"Listen mom, she's my friend's little sister. And my friend needs company. So I'd be with him till he gets bored of my company."

"He? So it's a guy huh?" she cleared her throat and I nodded as if she could see me and heard she was muttering something to herself before questioning at me again. "What if he never gets bored of your company?"

"Well.. then I'd be with him forever." I replied instantly and heard her snickering.

"Oh.. control your hormones pretty young lady, as a mother I can't let you stay with a guy for a long time eventhough it's a hospital, so I expect you to be home before your curfew time. No more arguments. Love you." with that she hung up giving no room for me to speak and I sighed, looking down at my phone.

Note to myself : do not ever take your mother as your role model unless you want your own kids to hate you.

Then I quickly dialed Alex's number and twirled a strand of my hair absentmindedly when it rang for a while.
----

《 Alexander Woods 》

After changing myself into the football kit, I got out of the locker room, ignoring my teammates who were measuring the size of their penis.

"Mine is bigger than y'all." I yelled over my shoulder to add some spice to their conversation and as I expected Brian jogged towards me ditching his buddies.

"Ciao, man!" he greeted and I rolled my eyes at the handsome guy, who happened to be my best mate and the love of pathetic Georgia's life.

Damn it, couldn't I survive without thinking about her once a day?

Of course I could. Because I have spent all of my thirteen and half years without knowing her existence and we barely talked to eachother since we had got close four months ago so it was a pretty easy task than the five-finger exercise.

"Alexander!" yelled my grumpy coach, snapping me out of trance.

"Pedagogue!" I waved at him as I knew this word would piss him off and Brian patted my back proudly when he shot us a glare and I smirked before jogging towards my oh-so-coach.

"What took you so long? And where are the others?" coach asked and I glanced at Brian and he shrugged.

"Well, they are in some research." I answered and he furrowed his brows.

"What research?"

"Kinda related to biology." I replied with a serious tone while my stupid buddy was looking like he was going to burst into laughter anytime soon and my coach sighed as he was kinda confused why on earth were they researching about biology in a football practice.

"Look Alex, as you're the captain of this team, you've to be more responsible. We're only permitted to stay here three hours only. See, y'all have wasted half an hour already giving me a lame reason."

"But coach why do we need to play in an indoor stadium when we have a huge field in our school?" I asked really confused.

And if we were playing there I would've gotten the chance of seeing Georgia while she was in the play. She still might be there. And why in the world did she ask me to be the Prince Charming if she didn't have any feelings on me like she said earlier. I really couldn't understand her sometimes and I wanted to know what was going on in the tiny brain of hers. Uhm.. Would she be missing like I do?

I sighed when I knew she'd be missing Brian more than me. Why the hell was I always thinking about her when I was dating Melanie and when she was secretly having a crush on Brian.

Eventhough I knew it I didn't dare to tell it to Brian, afraid of the consequences.

Y'know, like being the best man of their wedding and being the Godfather for their triplets.

Urgh.

"Here we go again. I don't know why the hell I chose a guy who's always in a brown study as a captain. Brian, do you think he'd be like this even if the ball collided with his face?" I heard coach ask in disbelief and before Brian could respond any sarcastic comment, I replied.

"Well, then I would instantly think of my coach and hit the shit outta it before it could collide with my face." I gave him a smug grin and when he glared at me I cleared my throat. "I mean, my ex-coach. Y'know the one who said I wasn't so strong and fit to be a captain." I lied and he nodded slowly.

But there was no difference between that guy and this one as he was always calling me weak to be a captain and this douche was appointed me as a captain and then always told me how much he regretted about his decision.

So my final saying to everyone is, ACAB.

All Coaches Are Bastards.

"Dad, sorry for interrupting you. Alexander's phone is ringing for a long time." Evelyn, coach's daughter appeared to our sight and out of nowhere all the guys surrounded the coach and all the credits goes to the magic spell she cast on them.

She was really gorgeous and to be honest, I always craved for touching her hair and her body not because of the fact she was pretty; Because she resembled Georgia in some strange way. She had light blonde hair and a slim figure like Georgia.

I raised my eyebrows when she extended the phone towards me. "You rummaged through my bag?"

"Huh? n-no." she stammered biting her lower lip but I smiled and took my phone out of her hand and kissed her on the cheek.

"Thankyou hottie." I whispered huskily and noticed the deep blush on her cheeks which could be seen clearly and then glanced up at her dad who was shaking his head in disbelief and ignored the groans and glares which were coming from my teammates including Brian as I left the place with a satisfied smirk on my face.

I knew how to make every girls including the goddamn sexy models swoon over me. But bitterly, Georgia was an exception.

When I reached out of their hearing range, I unlocked my phone and frowned when I saw three missed calls from Jessie as she'd rarely call me and before I could think further, Jessica called me again and I quickly answered it and placed my phone on my ear.

"Jess-"

"Why the hell were you ignoring my calls?" she fumed cutting me off and I sighed.

"I had football practice Jessie."

"What? So you really didn't participate in the drama?" she asked and I groaned. Why is she trying to ship me with Georgia? What's her problem?

"As I said already, no Jessie. I didn't. Why the hell are you-"

"You dumbass! Immediately come to the hospital. Georgia is in the ICU as she injured her head while the play." she hissed and my eyes got bigger than my mouth.

"What!? Jessie, if this is one of your stupid joke, seriously it's not funny." I clenched my jaw and there was a pause on the other end. I would pull the blonde hair out of her head if she said she's been joking around.

"I wish it was a joke." she mumbled and I gulped visibly.

What the freaking hell is she trying to say?

"J-Jessie, Wha- is she okay now?" I asked shakily and she sighed loudly.

"She lost her consiousness but the doctor said she has passed the critical stage." she said hesitantly and I gripped my phone tightly when my hands started to sweat.

"Text me the location." with that I hung up the call and crushed my phone and didn't care at the moment if it got broken because of my tight grip.

I wanted to yell and punch my coach on his face several times but I restrained myself when my phone buzzed and without any thought I escaped out of this place, making my way to my road bike.
----

My legs came to a halt when I noticed Jessica leaning on the wall beside her fairytale prince and the person who was on the top of my hating list, Jace Parker. He was sitting on the chair and his head was buried in his hands.

"Jessie!" I approached my sister and she snapped her head towards me and smiled faintly.

Why the hell is she smiling now?

The Parker too looked at me with a surprised look but an old lady who was talking with some nurse caught my attention as I met her somewhere but couldn't remember properly.

"Alex, did you inform mom?" Jessie asked and I grunted.

"Where is she?" I questioned instead and she sighed.

"She's-"

"She's in the ICU." Parker replied flatly standing beside her like he was her some kind of bodyguard and she looked up at Jace and smiled at him for absolute no reason and mainly when his gaze was boring into mine. I rolled my eyes as I thought Jessica wouldn't be smiling always if she had to pay each and every time she smiled.

"Well, I wanna see her." I told sternly and he raised his eye brow.

"Sorry dude. You do not have any right to see her." he stated and I clenched my fists, trying my best to restrain myself from beating up this muscular basketeer. But right now he was her brother and I really had to take permission from him so I unclenched my fists and took a deep breath.

"Please, Parker. Let me see her at least once." I requested and Jessie's eyebrows shot up in surprise which might be because of my newly-developed humbleness but Parker was still keeping the same blank expression until Jessie touched his arm which made him look down at her and they both contacted with their eyes which I didn't understand at all.

Finally Parker sighed, looking at me. "Fine. One person at a time so go in and come outside within fifteen minutes because my nanny has to check in on her once in a while." he pointed to the old lady and then my dumb mind started to work well as it connected the dots and informed me that she was Georgia's granny and back when Georgia invited me to her home and this old lady stayed with us till I leave the place and didn't give us privacy at all, reasoning that Georgia was too young to be a mom.

Typical old people.

"Plus don't touch any equipments that attached to her body." he warned and I nodded curtly resisting the urge of rolling my eyes.

Like I'm gonna steal them.

"Got it." with that I walked past them and pushed open the door of a room which supposed to be the ICU and slowly entered in.

The girl who was sleeping on the bed peacefully had a bandage round her head and I slowly approached her and sat on the stool that was placed beside her bed. I eyed her from head to toe but she wasn't blushing like she always did.

I rolled my eyes skyward and tried my best not to let the tears fall down.

Alex, you're a guy. You shouldn't cry.

I nodded to myself and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath but I broke down again when I opened them and saw her pale face.

What the hell am I feeling for this girl?

Under no circumstances would I have some feelings towards Georgia Parker.

Who was I kidding? I fell head over heels for her.

"Georgia.." I whispered but didn't get any reply. Figured.

I let out a sigh and glanced at her right hand which had an IV drip fixed on the back of her palm before cautiously holding it.

She always likes when I hold her hand.

"Gorgerella.." she hated that name and whenever I used to call her with it, it'd earn me a slap on my shoulder. But maybe today I was not so lucky.

"I wish things were different. I wish you and I were laughing at our own lame jokes right now and commenting on each-other's posts."

I lightly squeezed her hand but she was showing no move. "Love at first sight is real in my opinion. I fell for you the very first day I met you and I thought you liked me too like all the other girls did. But no, I was completely wrong." I clenched my jaw. "You always friendzoned me and treated me like I was your kiss doll and you were proud of the fact that you wrapped the hot jock around your finger. But.. these aren't the real reasons I broke up with the relationship whatever we had. It was," I took a deep breath before continuing.

"You never trusted me. At all. I never knew anything about your family other than your brother and granny. I didn't know who your mother is and where your father is. And most importantly, you never told me you had a crush on Brian."

Yeah, the day when her brother confronted me at the park and when Jessie appeared out of nowhere I lied that I loved Melanie and after that day I found a note on my sports bag, in which Georgia had written the oh-so-love she had on Brian and when I saw her name in the bottom part my heart ached even more.

God did know everything so he didn't want her to be with Brian and made her put the note on my bag instead of Brian's, accidentally.

"But despite the facts that you just called me bestfriend for a show-off and kissed me just because you enjoyed it, I still couldn't hate you. I never fucking could." I hissed but neither she flinched nor did she defend herself. After staring at her pale face a couple of seconds, I stood up and bent forward, placing my lips on hers.

"I love you, Georgia." I whispered pulling away but her eyes were closed and her pale lips were pressed into a thin line which made me want to crawl into my bed and cry louder.

But right now, in some strange way, I was feeling like someone took a weight off my shoulders.
