background story:

Modor and Alys first met when King Viserys asked the maesters to show all the dragons still available and to assign one to his daughter, Princess Alys.

At first, Modor didn't like people and certainly not Princess Alys. But Alys didn't give up and tried to win Modor's trust! The maesters also seemed to have noticed Modor's dislike of Princess Alys and initially assigned her a different dragon!

Alys no longer understood the world. Why didn't Modor want anything to do with her? Had he had bad experiences before? Or did he just not like people?

It took a whole 6 months before Modor allowed Princess Alys to sit on his back and view Westeros from above.
