Renee sighed, shaking her head as she walked through the door. She sat down on the couch and held her head in her hands. Today was her birthday, for gods sake!

Why couldn't it have gone at least a little better?

I mean- Roger hadn't acknowledged it... Only because he had to drive the kids to school, none of her coworkers had done anything nice-and they all knew what day it was.

She frowned and went to the kitchen to flip on a light, blinking as it hit her eyes. She looked in front of her and smiled, nearly crying in happiness. Her friends from work, her loving husband, and her two precious children were there.

"I-I thought you all had forgotten..." She murmured softly, watching as her kids came forward with a messy birthday card, their handwriting was like chickenscratch but she didn't care.

"Happy Birthday Mommy!" Both twins gave her a big smile and hugged her tightly.

"We wouldn't forget an event as big as this one Rere..." Roger said happily. "Happy Birthday Renee!"
