I sat in my favorite chair and immediate comfort washed over me

Reaching to my coffee table, I grabbed my book

Although I had read it million times every plot twist felt exactly like it had the first

The cover smiled up at me with familiarity

I opened to its first page and I could hear it begin to speak to me

He had a deep, calming whisper that brought to life the greenery that surrounded our main character's cottage

My eyes closed, and I was transported to a forest with towering trees and pleasant floral

The area was very dear to me and brought me to a state of calmness

On the sidelines I observed foxes prancing about the grove

Our main character continued her grand adventure and I accompanied her with glee

Although I couldn't be seen it still felt as if they spoke directly to me

Previous voice of the book proceeded to narrate the scene

But then I heard a distant mutter of my name

Glancing around gave no clue to who the voice belonged to

Then I felt my heart drop as I suddenly remembered

My book's deep voice ceased his talking and I knew all things must end

With a new wave of dejectfulness I looked up and was once again sitting back in my chair

I took in the sad little bedroom and wished to be back in my forest

My mother stood at the doorway with a tender expression

I followed her back for dinner and as soon as we were done I went running back to my book
