two | complaining

chapter two

"Yeah, I'm not joking." Serena threw her suitcase in front of her and took a seat at one of the open benches. Fennekin jumped up and sat on her trainer's lap.

"No, no, it was the second story." She paused as she continued to listen to May begin to cry out in confusion again.

She had just gotten out from the front of the university, a key in hand for the dorm she was going to be living in. She got a 'luxury' dorm as you might call it. It allowed you to own a single small Pokémon there. The only disadvantage in that is that the dorms allowed both genders to live together. Mostly because when they made the university they could only afford one luxury dorm and find cleaners who would be willing to put up with Pokémon. Serena noted this fault, but she desperately wanted to have a dorm and be able to have her Fennekin there no matter what she had to go through.

"Why did you have to choose this university?" Serena put her hand on her Pokémon and began to groom its tail with her fingers.

"Because it was the one I wanted to go to, silly... and they were the ones to accept the both of us, so don't be complaining."

"I should be complaining. The only reason I decided to go to this place was because of you."

"Well, that isn't good."

"I know, I'm just starting to realize that now."

"That also isn't good."

"You think you could come over tomorrow, too?" Ash laid down on the couch, beginning to flip through the channels on the tv hanging up on the wall.

"Hell," Gary brushed his hand through his dirty amber hair, "I'll be back in a half an hour. I'm just gonna get a snack, like, geez. Slow down."

"Sorry. Thought you were leaving completely," Ash laughed. "Bring me a hamburger or something." As Ash said this, his Pokémon Pikachu climbed up onto the couch and jumped up into the boy's lap.

"Sure," Gary smirked. "But I ain't buying anything for your Pokémon."

"Hey, that's rude. Aren't you getting anything for Eevee?"

"Of course I am," Gary winked, walking on over towards the door to the dorm. "I'll make sure she'll have all the fries she wants." And with that, he opened the door and walked right out of the dorm, leaving the door slightly open.

This left Ash the opportunity to tell him something. "Your Eevee is going to die!"

"No, he won't!" Gary screamed back, only echoing down the hall.

"He will if you keep feeding him those nasty fries!"

Gary didn't respond after that, he was already walking down to the first floor.

"I won't let you die," Ash chuckled, petting Pikachu in his lap. "At least I actually keep you healthy."

Pikachu looked up at him. "Pika, Pi."

"Shhh," Ash whispered. "He's not supposed to know I feed you ketchup."

She walked with her suitcase being dragged on the floor, her Pokémon walking right beside it and following.

"Do you want to give May a visit first or see our form first?" Serena asked, tossing her hair out of her face.

"Fenn." Fennekin jumped towards the building where they saw the one guy jump off from the second story.

"Our dorm?"

Fennekin yelped in joy. It was a yes.

"Alright then, we'll head right on over. I guess you're right, too. I don't want to carry all of this stuff to May's and then to our dorm." She motioned her suitcase with wheels closer to her feet. "I wonder who our roommate will be."

"Kin!"

"A girl, right?"

The Pokémon nodded.

"Same... though, I guess if there was a cute guy, I wouldn't mind."

Fennekin immediately nipped at its trainer's leg.

"Hey! Come on, I can dream, can't I?... Eh, I guess not after what we saw, huh? Well, they're probably all not like that."

"Kin."

"There's only one way to find out."
