Origin: Juan Matigo was trained his entire life by his family, to be the next in a long line of Gurdas, masked wrestlers who wore mystical masks that granted them power that allowed them to protect the world from mystical creatures. Champions of La Muerte. Not only that, but must fight against the champions of Xibalba. However he never wanted to be El Guarda and skipped town before he could become the champion. He went to college to become a doctor.

Juan Matigo had always felt like he didn't belong in the world of masked wrestlers and mystical creatures. Instead, he wanted to pursue a more traditional path and go to college like any other young person. So, as soon as he was able, he left his family and their legacy behind and set off for a new life.

At college, Juan excelled in his studies and made many friends. He found himself enjoying his new life and feeling like he had finally found his place in the world. However, fate had other plans for him.

One day, news reached Juan that his family's town was under attack by a powerful creature from Xibalba, the underworld of Mayan mythology. The creature was wreaking havoc and causing destruction, and the townspeople were powerless to stop it.

Despite his reluctance to take up the mantle of El Guarda, Juan knew that he had to return home and face the creature. He couldn't stand by and watch as innocent people suffered.

So, Juan donned his family's mystical mask and set off to face the creature. As soon as he put on the mask, he felt a surge of power coursing through his veins. He felt stronger, faster, and more agile than ever before.

When he arrived in the town, he could see the destruction that the creature had caused. Buildings were destroyed, and people were running for their lives. Juan knew that he had to act fast.

He charged towards the creature, his body moving with a grace and agility that he had never felt before. The creature was massive, with sharp claws and teeth that glinted in the sunlight. It towered over Juan, but he didn't back down.

With a fierce determination, Juan attacked the creature with all his might. He moved quickly, dodging the creature's attacks and striking back with his own. The fight was intense, and the two combatants traded blows back and forth.

In the end, Juan emerged victorious. He had defeated the creature and saved the town from certain destruction. The people cheered for him, and his family was proud of him.

From that day on, Juan knew that he could never truly escape his legacy as El Guarda. He continued to fight against the forces of Xibalba and protect the world from mystical creatures. He became a hero in his own right, respected and admired by all who knew him.

And so, Juan Matigo became El Guarda, the protector of La Muerte, and a champion of the people.
