Chapter Four

A/N: Hello and welcome! Quick note about this chapter. It will be set before the last chapter at least at the start of it and will tell the events of Lindsey's conversation about his dismissal from the band! Enjoy!

LINDSEY

The older male had woken up and did his usual routine. He got up, ate his breakfast/drank his coffee, and then made his way to his studio. However, before he could reach his studio, his phone began ringing.

"This is Lindsey." He said, after checking the phone to see who was calling him.

It was Irvin Azoff, the guy responsible for booking their tours and managing the big machine, aka Fleetwood Mac.

Lindsey was surprised by the tone he was being spoken to with, "Woah, wait... What did I do?"

Lindsey waited for a reply, after receiving said reply, he was just at a loss.

"Stevie doesn't want to be on the same stage with me?" He just shook his head, "Well I'm sure Mick will do the right thing."

He hung up after that, not giving this any more thought as he believed that it was just Stevie having another meltdown due to Tom's passing, and that it'd pass and nothing more would come of it.

About two or three weeks had passed and Lindsey hadn't heard from anyone in the band. He sent various emails to Christine, Mick, John and even Stevie. No one responded, well, John responded but it was a blunt, quick reply.

A reply that said, "I have been instructed not to talk to you."

This only confused Lindsey even more, but it also hurt. It hurt that there was complete silence from everyone he considered family.

Lindsey pulled out his phone and called Irving.

"Hey, what's the deal? Why hasn't Mick called for a rehearsal of our farewell tour and why did John tell me that he's been instructed to not talk to me?"

He held the phone up to his ear and his confused expression quickly turned into a sad, gloomy expression.

"Oh... Okay then..." He said, hanging up the phone after.

After hanging up the call, he just sat there, trying to comprehend what just happened.

"She actually did it..." Lindsey muttered under his breath, "And Mick chose her..."

Hurt began to set in for the older male. The band that he had put so much effort into for close to forty years just turned their back on him and treated him like he was just a replaceable object.

STEVIE

Mick had pulled the blonde female aside after the little meeting, after everyone else had left.

"Well, as you can see, Lindsey has been dismissed." He said.

The female blinked, as if trying to see if he was actually serious or not. After a few seconds, she realized he actually was serious.

"Now we have a problem, we need someone to fill Lindsey's spot." He added.

Without hesitation, she replied, "I want Mike Campbell in the band."

Mick had nodded, "We'll see what we can do. Can Mike sing?" He asked, knowing that it might be a possibility that they would have to find a new vocalist as well, since Lindsey was both their lead guitar player and their male vocalist.

"I'm sure he'll be able to, if not I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out." Stevie replied.

It was clear that Stevie hadn't thought that far into the plan, she just knew that she wanted Mike Campbell in the band.

Mick didn't like the idea of him having to be the one to help find a replacement for Lindsey's vocals, considering Stevie was the one who said she couldn't be in the band with him anymore. He would've assumed she would've thought this through more thoroughly. However, he couldn't say anything about it, as he didn't want to anger Stevie, so he dismissed the little meeting between the two of them.

....

A/N: Well. Sadly that's the end of this chapter. I'm so sorry that this one was short as well (had some tech problems). I promise I will try to make the next one longer (especially since I have a somewhat decent idea of what I want for the next chapter). Thank you for reading up to this point! See you in the next chapter. Stay safe, be kind to each other and peace out!
