Chapter 6: Taurtis: Fight with Mega Necra
"Taurtis," Sam called. "Taurtis are you awake?" I laughed silently. I was hidden outside our apartment door, ready to scare Sam. He was really loud, and these walls are like paper they're so thin.
"Our apartment is a mess," I heard Sam say. It was true. There was the anvil that had almost killed Sam, still laying there; the chest with the note inside that the Yakuza had put there that made it look like Sam tried to kill himself; the note which the fish people had left, stating their revenge; and the empty T.V stand and one chair, standing because they hadn't been taken by the fish people.
"I wonder where he is..." Sam said. Then he opened the door. As he started to walk out, I jumped in front of him, shaking my head around.
"BOO!" I yelled, and Sam screamed like a girl and jumped back into the anvil, falling over. I burst out laughing.
"Taurtis, that wasn't funny!" Sam said angrily.
"Haha, you should've seen your face, hahaha," I said, still laughing. Sam got up.
"Come on," he said, obviously still angry. "We're going to be late."
~
Chrissy met us at the train.
"Hi," she said. "Sam, why're you so angry?"
"I scared him out of his mind," I said, smirking. "He screamed like a girl."
"I did not!" Sam said, fuming.
"Yes, you did."
"Really?" Chrissy asked. "That would've been funny to see."
"I got a video," I said, pulling out my E Phone. I showed Chrissy the video I took while I scared Sam. She burst out laughing. I laughed too. Then we looked at Sam. He was practically ready to burst.
"Aw, come on bunny boy," Chrissy said, taking his hand. "You're so cute when you're mad." Then they walked on the train. I followed.
On the train, I sat down a bit away from Sam and Chrissy, just to give them their privacy. As I watched them, I thought of Salex. Salexbrown. My first girlfriend, and the love of my life. Apparently, she had been killed by the Yakuza by having a car run over her and explode. Now she haunts the school with Gareth. I see her ghost sometimes, when I'm scared or when I need comfort. I love Salex. I love her more then Chan. I still love her. I wish she hadn't been taken away from me. A tear came to my eye, but I felt a warmth on my shoulder. I turned around. Nothing was there.
Then a soft voice spoke, "I'll always love you Taurtis."
~
We arrived at the train station next to the school soon. As I got off, I saw Sam and Necra fighting. Even though Necra was the 'bully,' Sam could stick up for himself.
"So," said Necra. "You've been being mean to my sister. Threatening her, scaring her, trying to hit on her at the beach?"
"That last part was Taurtis," Sam said. "I did threaten her, but I never scared her. Or, at least, I don't think so."
"You scared her by threatening her, you idiot!"
"Those are fighting words, Necra."
"Yeah. You wanna fight? Let's fight!" He threw a punch at Sam, and it hit him in the arm. I flinched. Sam was very skinny and kinda small, and even though he's tough, he can easily be beaten in a fight.
"You wanna do this?" Sam hit Necra in the shoulder, but it barely did anything. Necra punched again. This time it hit Sam in his shoulder. Sam cringed, but kept on going. The fight went on for a minute or two, until Necra hit Sam in the face. Sam fell to the ground. Before he could get up, Chrissy ran over and stepped between the angry boys.
"Stop," she said firmly. She looked each boy in the eye. I saw that her eyes were dead serious. Necra backed away, then ran for the school.
Chrissy ran over to Sam. I ran over too. He wasn't very bloody, but he was sore all over his left arm and his face. Chrissy took his hand.
"Come on," she said softly, the seriousness faded from her eyes. "We're going to be late for school, and we should get you to the nurse." Sam nodded. I took his right arm, and Chrissy took his left, where he hurt the most. We half-dragged him to the school and up the stairs.
"Taurtis," Chrissy said. "Tell Mrs. Okami where we're going." I nodded and walked into the classroom.
"Ah, Taurtis," Mrs. Okami said. "So nice of you to join us. Where have you been?"
"Well, Mrs. Okami," I began. "After we got off the train, Sam got into a fight. He got hit in the face, and it hurt him. Bad. Now me and Chrissy are taking him to the nurse."
"Alright," Mrs. Okami said. "But who did he get into a fight with?"
"Um..." I stared Necra in the eyes. His facial expression was very happy, probably because of what he did to Sam. I leaned in close to Mrs. Okami's desk and whispered, "Necra."
"Necra!" Mrs. Okami yelled. "Come here please." Necra walked to the front of the desk. "Is it true that you got into a fight with Sam?"
"Maybe," Necra said.
"Tell me."
"I did, but I was trying to give him a piece of my mind for messing with Silly!"
"Alright Necra, but you are going to be punished. I will speak with your father later. Understand?"
"Yes."
"Good. Now go sit back down." Necra walked away from the desk. Mrs. Okami turned to me.
"I think miss Chrissy is handling Sam," she said. "You can sit too."
I walked over to my desk, which is one seat away from the window, where Sam usually sits. The seat next to the window, I mean. Not the window itself. That would be weird.
Mrs. Okami resumed the lesson, but I wasn't paying attention. Soon, Mrs. Okami was coming around with the new assignment. I grabbed two for Sam and Chrissy, then read mine.
"Today's assignment is to choose your favorite fictional character (movie or book) and write a paragraph about him/her/it," it read. "You will bring in the paragraph tomorrow. Be ready to present!" Then the bell rang.
Instead of walking to lunch like the rest of the students, I turned left and went into the nurse's office. Sam was laying on one of the small beds to the right, PufferFish Pete right beside him (yes, PufferFish Pete is the nurse). I looked to my left. Chrissy was standing against the wall, staring at Pete and Sam. I walked over to her.
"Everything alright with Sam?" I asked.
"Yeah," she said. "Pete's just bandaging the wounds. But the mark on his face? That will need a few weeks to heal."
"How many?"
"Two or three." Sam looked up from his bandages.
"Hey Taurtis!" he called. "I'm pretty tough, right?"
Pretty stupid, more like it, I thought.
"Yeah," I said. "You're pretty tough." Sam smiled.
"Hey," I said to Chrissy. "I got you two the assignment." I handed one to her. She read it, and smiled.
"This is going to be so much fun!" she said excitedly. "How am I gonna choose?" She 'hmm'ed, and I walked over to Sam.
"Here's the assignment," I said, handing him it. He read it.
"There, and done," Pete said, stepping back. "Isn't too bad. You're arm and shoulder just needed to be wrapped slightly, those bandages will be off in no time, but the side of you're face, that'll take about two weeks to heal. Just keep that bandage on it." I looked at Sam. His shoulder was wrapped in white fabric, and so was his forearm. The side of his face, however, was wrapped with the same cloth, just more and it was stretched to his chin. I don't know how Pete got it to stay on, but it worked.
The bell rang again. All three of us said goodbye to Pete and walked to the gym. Everybody was looking at Sam's face. Then there came the whispers.
"Is it true he fought Necra?"
"Did he really get punched?"
"He's probably just trying to show off."
"Do you think so?"
Chrissy walked over to the girls' line, and me and Sam walked over to the boys'. Necra was glaring at Sam. Then Rowan walked into the room.
"ALRIGHT MAGGOTS," he said. "STRAIGHT TO THE LOCKERS! WE HAVE A LOT TO DO TODAY."
After we got out of the lockers, Rowan had decorated the place with ropes that spread to two holes at the bottom. There were a lot, and they were lined along the walls.
"I GET TO DO WHATEVER I WANT TODAY!" Rowan yelled happily. "AND ALL OF YOU WILL RUN AT FULL SPEED TO THE MOVIE THEATER AND BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN. IF YOU STOP AT ANY TIME, I WILL HANG YOU FROM YOUR WRISTS UNTIL WE ARE DONE!" Everyone was scared. "NOW GO, MAGGOTS!" Everyone started running. A few people, *cough* like Sam, Invader, Gracie, Pie and Dom *cough* were too slow and got hung from their wrists, and, by the looks on their faces, it hurt.
After the bell rang, I walked over to Sam, who was being helped down by Chrissy. She had gotten a stool, stood on it, and untied the ropes around Sam's hands. He dropped down, rubbing his wrists.
"Ow," he said. Chrissy got off the stool.
"Come on," she said. "Let's help the others before I practice."
Then I remembered. It was Thursday, so we are staying after school to watch Chrissy practice her singing.
I helped Pie and Dom down, Sam helped Invader, which was awkward, and Chrissy worked with Okami to help the others. After they left, Chrissy went backstage to get a microphone, while me and Sam sat on the ground. I opened a bag of Toritos, yes, Toritos, laid back, and ate.
