Chapter 10: Sam: They're After Us

~A/N: Yakuza guy/(sometimes) the Yakuza=Chrissy's dad~

"Taurtis, what exactly happened?" I asked after we got to our apartment.

"Well," Taurtis started. "The Yakuza guy made me pick between Yuki and Chan. They both had bloody knives, and the Yakuza guy was giving me this threatening look. I chose Chan. He smiled, then I got hit by something and I got knocked out. I woke up in this weird place, and I was blindfolded and handcuffed. Then I was brought outside, and you know the rest. They were pushing me and shoving me, and dude, I didn't dare speak. I could feel the guns pointing at me."

"Are you okay? Did that scare you? 'Cause it did me."

"Defiantly. I was so scared. Those Yakuza guys are dangerous." Then he looked at me with a puzzled look. "What about Chrissy? How will Okami and Rowan react? Do you think they'll tell anybody?"

"I don't know. I don't think anybody else except Yuki and Chan know about the Yakuza."

"Well, we'll see, won't we?"

~Massive Time Skip~

About a month passed. It was past Halloween. We didn't do much. We only went trick-or-treating with Chrissy and our friend Grian from England. He decided to stay with us now. He was a scarecrow that looked like a tomato, I was a demon, Taurtis was Ryu from Street Fighter, and Chrissy was a someone from Lord of the Rings.

The Yakuza didn't do anything. Chrissy's dad must've thought that he had traumatized us enough, or at least for a while. Which was true.

Okami and Rowan didn't act any different, except they treated us a bit more kindly. They probably felt sorry for us since we had to experience that, even though we already knew that Chrissy's dad was head of the Yakuza.

We told Grian everything. Every. Last. Detail. He met Chrissy too, which was great. We also got a new apartment, since our old one is trashed and too small for three people. Did I mention that Grian is staying with us now? (A/N: Yes.) Our new apartment has a T.V with GameCrab, two double beds, a kitchen, a lovely couch, plenty of storage, and a small balcony. It's in the same building as our old apartment, but  it's higher up. It's as high as the top of J's house, which is high.

Truth: I kinda avoided Chrissy. For a little bit, at least. I just needed some time to myself. I was confused, angry, and scared. Now I'm just scared. The Yakuza haven't struck in a while, which got me uneasy. Having a powerful gang out to kill you can give you a bit of stress. I went back to Chrissy after I had semi-recovered. She comforted me, but I could tell she was also comforting herself. We tried to get back to our most normal as possible life. I think we mostly succeeded.

~

It was Saturday. Me, Taurtis, and Grian were walking home from a nice day out. We had just been chillin' while shopping. Slightly. We bought some snacks to bring back home. It was mostly just Chan looking around and adoring shoes while we talked. She acted like the 'event' didn't happen and she knew nothing about the Yakuza. Chan had left us after we were shopping.

"Ugh," complained Taurtis. "I hate walking."

"Do you want to go around?" I asked. "It would be shorter."

"But wouldn't that take us to the Yakuza's place?" Grian asked.

"Yeah, but we could avoid it."

"How?"

"We just don't look at it and don't speak. If we can't see them, they can't see us." I smiled childishly. Grian sighed.

"Whatever Sam."

We walked around, passing by the Yakuza's HQ. I looked away and walked quickly. Taurtis and Grian did the same. We didn't want to attract any attention. When we got past the building, I glanced back. It might've been my imagination, but I think I saw the Yakuza guy looking through a window at us. I think Grian saw him too.

"Let's go," he said quickly. I nodded.

We were at Hidden's house when we heard a voice.

"Hello Sam," it said from behind. I turned around. It was Chrissy's dad. With the rest of the Yakuza. And they had guns.

"You better run." He was smiling now.

"Uh, let's go," I said. I started running. I could hear Taurtis and Grian behind me. I didn't look back. I wouldn't look back. I just kept running to who-knows-where.

Then I saw Rowan. Oh thank the heavens, I thought. Rowan was with Paul and Okami. They had guns too. I ran behind them and stopped. Taurtis and Grian were right behind me.

"Get to the store," Rowan said. "Barricade yourself in. Take these." He passed us handguns and ammo. "We'll hold them off." We nodded and ran again. We got to the store. Taurtis ran inside first.

"Get in!" he shouted. We did and he flipped the security switch. The entryway sealed itself with iron bars. He also turned the lights off.

I took a look at the bullets and said, "These aren't going to do much damage."

"You're right," Grian agreed. "At least it'll knock them back some. Plus, we don't have to get charged with killing someone. The cops in this town are insane."

"Hey, they're helping us now," Taurtis said, walking over to us. Then we heard distant shouting.

"Hide!" I whispered. "Get your guns ready." I hid behind a wall that held some buyable items, Taurtis hid at the switch next to the door, and Grian was somewhere in the back.

"You can get them outta here?" I heard Rowan's voice.

"Yes. I can get them away from him." The voice was Chrissy's. I smiled.

"Alright. Let us in!" Rowan yelled the last part. Taurtis flicked the switch. Once they were inside, he flicked it again. We came out of our hiding places.

"Chrissy!" I exclaimed as she rushed over to me.

"There's no time to waste, rabbit stew," Rowan said. "They'll be here any minute. Chrissy here is going to lead you somewhere away. The Yakuza want you. I trust her." I nodded. "Get into your positions!" We all rushed back to where we were before. Chrissy was beside me. She pulled out a handgun too.

"Don't worry," she said. "They're the same bullets as yours."

We waited. Then we heard them yelling. They started banging on the door, and Rowan gave Taurtis the signal. He flicked the switch and Rowan, Okami, and Paul rushed out to greet the Yakuza. They started driving them back, and Chrissy grabbed my hand. She motioned for Taurtis and Grian to follow her. We ran the opposite way the Rowan and then were, towards our old house.

"Keep up!" Chrissy yelled. We ran to Gareth's old house, which was covered in vines.

"Climb!" Chrissy told us. I hesitated. "Sam, they want to kill you! Go!" I started climbing. I could hear the others behind me. We got onto the roof.

"Follow me!" Chrissy said. She hopped onto the next roof. We followed. We had to get lower to get to some other houses, but pretty soon we were on top of J's old house. That was when the Yakuza spotted us.

"They're there!" one shouted. I panicked. Chrissy grabbed my hand.

"Don't panic," she whispered. "We're in this together." We jumped to the next roof. I heard the Yakuza firing. Surprisingly, nothing hit us. We either had really good luck or they were just horrible shots. Probably the luck.

"Hey you Yakuza butts!" I heard Paul's voice. "Over here!" I glanced at Paul just as he fired his gun. I turned back around and followed Chrissy.

"We have to get to the train!" Chrissy said.

"How will we get in the train?" Grian replied. "Won't they just follow us? It won't be fast enough."

"It's worth a try." She said it in an I-know-that-but-yolo voice.

We got to the place where the train was, but the Yakuza was right on our tail. We hopped off the building we were on (safely), and headed into the place. We tried to get on the train, but the doors were closed. PufferFishPete opened them.

"Tickets please," he said.

"Pete, we're being chased by a gang!" I said. "Let us in!"

"Only if you have your ticket."

"But-!"

"No tickets? Alright then." He closed the doors again. We started banging on the doors screaming, "Pete! Let us in! Pete!" but it was useless. He wasn't opening that door again.

Then the Yakuza came down. We pulled out our guns and fired rapidly. Some were knocked unconscious, but Chrissy's dad and most of them pointed their guns at us, smirking. The Yakuza guy came over to me and aimed his gun at my head. It was only a foot away. I stood there, unable to move. He laughed.

"Stop. That. Now." Rowan came down the stairs, his gun aiming directly at the Yakuza guy's head. I breathed heavily.

"If you shoot, I'll shoot. And you don't want me to shoot." The Yakuza just smirked.

"What if I do this," he said, pulling something out of his pocket.

"Sam, watch out-!" I heard Chrissy scream, but it was too late. The Yakuza had pulled a pistol out of his pocket and shot it at my neck.

Everything went dark.
