Katelyn's POV....

I stared at my feet, it seemed suddenly interesting.

Why?

Why would anyone create something like this?!

"I don't feel comfortable here anymore." Sabrina rubbed her upper arm.

"We need to move and get to DC." Sky decided as we ran out and away.

Le Timeskip....

Sabrina's POV...

"Are you sure this is the right way?" I asked.

"I tinkings sos." Barney said, marching onward.

"Hmmmm, that's not very convincing." Jess hummed.

"I can't stop thinking about what we saw dude." Sky stopped.

"Neither can I but we still need to keep moving and get over it." I walked over to Sky and placed my hand on his shoulder, softly and delicately.

"Once we get to DC, like, everything's gonna be okay." Sky started chuckling crazily.

"We may see Nick and everyone." I spoke sportingly. 

Katelyn smiles as she hands me a little tab of paper.

I can't wait to see them again.

"I bet you can't." I smiled jokingly.

We all noticed Barney rushing ahead, Sky the first to point it out.

"Hey, stop rushing ahead dude." Sky ran towards the wandering Barney.

"I so nervous though because-" Barney started, Sky cutting him off and both trying to finish their sentences.

"If you're so nervous, why are you running in the middle of a forest? What if you run into a walker?" I asked, cutting them both off.

"I got crossbow." Barney spoke

"We know that but that doesn't change the fact that you bloody froze up when we were near bloody Heyworth." I shot back, starting to walk again.

"But that was Cannibal! You can't blame me for that!" Barney stared.

"Geez thanks for reminding me." I rolled my eyes. The last thing I wanted to be reminded of was my stupid brother.

"What?!" Jess went wide-eyed, I assumed she directed that at Barney and not me.

"What?" Sky asked, confused.

"Oh, now you gotta go tell the Jets (Idk.)" Barney threw his hands up in frustration.

"He froze up, like, I don't know. He just, wasn't himself." Sky explained, starting to walk again.

"What?!" Jess stared.

"Yeah. Don't know what else to tell you." I shrugged.

"Jess, they capture you. It was bad situation and I can't, ugh. It wasn't good." Barney explained as best he probably could.

"It's not like it's a big huge deal it's just... I mean, I understand that you were scared but I've never seen you like that." Sky sighed.

I kinda started drifting behind, not wanting to be apart of the conversation.

I notice Katelyn and Ross joining me at the back.

"How's your voice?" Ross asked, looking to Katelyn.

"B-t--r" Katelyn forced out.

"Save your voice for when you need it, stick to the paper and pencils." I winked.

"Hm, keep doing the whole salt and warm water thing and you should have your voice back within a few days." Ross informed, going between us and our bickering friends.

"So, how are the cuts doing?" I asked, concerned. After all, this was my brother's doing (my tablet wanted me to say wedding XD).

She rolled up her sleeves and saw the cuts were actually pretty much gone.

"Nice!" I smiled.

"Girls!" Sky yelled out to us.

"Yeah?!" I yelled back.

"We may have found DC..." Sky yelled, a bit saddened this time.

Katelyn bolted to the direction of Sky's voice, desperate to see what was wrong with her home country. Of course I quickly followed her but I wish I hadn't.

"Oh my god..." I whispered in shock.

The streets and buildings were ablaze, fire was everywhere in sight with no intention of stopping. It was a miracle the forest wasn't also on fire.

"I am seriously suppressing the urge to make a Fall Out Boy joke here." I say, trying to lighten the mood.

Katelyn looks at me, a little bit of anger but also humour shone in her eyes.

"Is the Zaxen what's caused all this?" Ross asked, not a single care in his voice about the people, or anything living. All that he seemed to care about was whether or not this was the Zaxen's doing.

"I would imagine so." Jess spoke up.

I feel something being slid into my hands.

I really hope everyone's okay.

"I do too, I do too." I say encouragingly.

Kate flashed me a smile as I made my way to the edge of the road.

"How do you supposed we find everyone?" Sky asked.

"Where would you guys go if you saw the city like this? What's the one place you would think to go to?" I asked.

No response.

"Okay, let's go searching." I sighed.

Timeskip because Winter is just starting to write again and is lazy as all heck...

"Is that the Monument? It's completely destroyed..." Sky trailed off, sadly.

"It's beautiful in a sad way." Jess pointed out.

"Y---, I g---s so." Katelyn forced.

"YOU HAVE YOUR VOICE SOMEWHAT BACK!!!!" Jess yelled, hugging Katelyn to death.

I admit, I started laughing.

"Hey, look at the formation of the barbed wire. Hey, any ideas of what formation this would be used for?" I turned to Kate, remembering the note she handed me about the name thing. I did tell everyone but Ross so as long as they remember, we're good.

"Can I quickly ask something?" Ross turned to me.

"Shoot." I tilted my head to the side.

"What is your friend's name?" Ross asked.

I turned to Kate and saw her quickly writing something. After she finished writing, it was quickly shoved my way.

Chloe.

"Chloe." I read the paper off.

I swear I saw Sky cringe, Jess face palm, and Barney hold back a laugh.

"Hm, interesting name. You look more like a Katelyn to me." Ross shrugged, walking towards the Monument.

We both cringed.

"Back to my question Chloe, do you know this for formation?" I asked, the name foreign to me.

She nodded as she quickly wrote something down.

I believe it to be a final battle, a formation set as a last and final stand. It doesn't look like they made it as extreme as they could've.

???'s POV...

I set down my scope.

These people didn't seem to look like much of an issue, nothing really report worthy.

But I've already learned my lesson.

"Hey, we got about, six new people here. Three girls and three guys." I say through the walkie.

"Six? You think they're with the group at the White House?" My friend's voice came through, loud and clear.

"It's entirely possible, do you want me to keep watch?" I ask.

"Yes, we can't take any chances if they're bandits."

With that, I picked up my rifle and walked to the edge of the building I was on...

And jumped.

I AM SOOOOOOO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING!!!!

I lost all inspiration to write anything and I didn't want to push out something I wasn't proud of.

Yeah, I'm one of those people.

Also, any predictions for our mystery duo that I've introduced? Who do you think they are? Do you think they're good or evil?
