Thursday night (I know that it has been Thursday for like 3 chapters now, but I can't write everything in one chapter, it would be too long)

Adriana's pov

It's currently 6:55 PM, and I just finished getting ready to hang out with jerk face, I feel excited and I don't know why.

It's probably because you don't know where he's taking you.

Yeah that's it.

My hair is curled and my makeup is light as always, I'm wearing a black crop top with ripped jeans, basic.

I made my way downstairs and walked to the living room "Hey" I say as I sit down next to Ashton who wasn't acknowledging my presence.

"Hum...Hello? Earth to Ashton" I wave my hand in front of his face making him look up from his phone at me.

"What?!" He asks harshly.

"What has gotten into you? I didn't do anything wrong" I huff.

"Sorry, I'm just frustrated, what do you need?" He asks his voice softening.

"I just wanted to tell you that I'm leaving now" I tell him before standing up.

"Okay be back by 10!" He yells to me as I walk towards the front door.

"Alright! I'll be home by 11, bye" I say quickly before slamming the front door shut.

From Adriana to Jerk face

Adriana: Where are you?

Jerk face: I'll be at yours in 5 minutes.

Adriana: It's freezing outside, be quick.

Jerk face: Didn't you take a jacket with you?

Adriana: If I did I wouldn't be complaining that much smart-ass.

Jerk face: Language Adriana.

Adriana: Funny you're the one saying it.

Jerk face: What's so funny in that?

Adriana: I'm done arguing with you, the more you're distracted, the more late you'll be.

Jerk face: Oh no it's fine, I texting you and driving at the same time.

Adriana: YOU'RE WHAT?! Jerk face get off of your phone now!

Jerk face: Awww you care about my safety.

Adriana: Actually, if you die, the police would be looking through your phone and stuff, who's the last person you were texting? me, so who would be blamed for your death, me.

Jerk face: Well if you keep texting me, I'll keep getting distracted.

Adriana: See you later.

I send my last text and put my phone in my purse.

"Where are you jerk face?" I ask myself as I sit down on the front porch.

Jace's pov

The only reason I'm late is because I had an emergency at work.

One of my guards is a mole, they have been stealing my shipments, but I found him, it was Jackson, one of my best assassins, he was working with the Italian Mafia, he was sending them informations about us and our shipments, of course when I found out I shot him, so here I am pulling up into Adriana's driveway.

I jump out of my car and walk towards the front door, but halfway there I stopped in my tracks and looked before me only to see Adriana asleep on the porch, freezing.

I scooped her in my arms and brought her to my car, you're so stupid Jace, look at what you did!

When she was finally in the passenger seat I took off my jacket and covered her with it like a blanket, she looks effortlessly beautiful "You will always be mine Adriana, even if we can't be together" I whispered before closing her door and going to my side of the car.

Adriana's pov

I opened my eyes slowly and looked around me, where am I?

"What's going on?" I ask rubbing my eyes.

"When I arrived at your house, I saw you sleeping on the porch, so I carried you to the car and since you were freezing I covered you with my jacket" Jerk face explains keeping his eyes on the road.

"Thanks" I whisper.

"No problem" He answers.

"How long have I slept for?" I question him.

"About 10 minutes I think" He says.

"Okay, where are we going?" I interrogate him.

"That's for me to know and you to find out" He answers vaguely.

"Are we almost there at least?" I continue with my questions.

"What's with all the questions?" He chuckles and I blush.

He finally stops the car and turns to look at me with a huge smile on his face, a genuine one.

"We're here" He says.

"You have such an amazing smile, you should smile more often" I blurt out, and as soon as I realize what I said I slapped my hand on my mouth.

He chuckles and says "Thanks for the compliment"

By now I'm sure I look like a tomato.

After my little embarrassing moment, I managed to look at him in the eyes only to see him already staring at me.

We look at each other for what seems like an eternity before jerk face starts to lean in.

Oh no, what is going on?!

Our faces were inches apart, if one of us moved a little bit our lips would collide, I was frozen in my seat, I couldn't say anything, or even move a muscle, I was mesmerized by his beautiful eyes.

ADRIANA MOVE!

He looks down at my lips and closes his eyes "Hum, I need some air, it's suffocating in here" I say before jumping out of the car, it was already dark outside so jerk face couldn't see me blushing hard.

AGAIN, IT FREAKING HAPPENED AGAIN!

WE WERE ABOUT TO KISS! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!

He nods at me quickly before turning his attention away from me, looking straight in front of him, great, now I just made things awkward! Good job Adriana, you earned the trophy for being 'the most awkward person on earth', the worst part is that I'm not being sarcastic.

I sigh and hop into the car, I turn myself to face him and start "Look, I'm sorry if I just made things awkward but I can't-" He cuts me off by yelling "Why!? Just tell me why Adriana?! Why can't you kiss me?! This has to do with the past doesn't it?! Just tell me what I did and I'll fix it!" He finishes.

Yet he's still yelling at me, see that's what I'm scared of, being hurt again by him and his moods swings too.

My eyes start to water and he realized what he said "I'm sorry I didn't-" I cut him off harshly "Oh no, don't even try jerk face, you did mean it, if I'm not telling you what you did, it's because it hurts talking about it, you hurt me too bad, I won't let myself make the same decision again, you can't fix what's already broken." I finish.

Jace's pov

I saw her eyes watering and I realized what I said "I'm sorry I didn't-" She cuts me off harshly "Oh no, don't even try jerk face, you did mean it, if I'm not telling you what you did, it's because it hurts talking about it, you hurt me too bad, I won't let myself make the same decision again, you can't fix what's already broken." She finishes.

You can't fix what's already broken, I hurt her, I hurt Adriana in the past, how, when, why?! I'm asking myself questions that concerns me, and I don't even have the answers!

"A-adriana, I can't say that I'm sorry, well I am, but apologizing repetitively won't fix things, whatever I did, I didn't mean to do it, I know that there just words, but they have a lot of meaning and truth, what do you mean about making the same decision again?" I ask raising my eyebrow.

Her eyes widen, but she manages to hide her emotions before answering vaguely "I did mistakes in my past, and that's it, you're right, apologizing won't change anything, us being friends will never work jerk face, I don't want to be friends with you anymore" She says before hugging her knees, looking outside the window.

She doesn't want to be friends with me anymore?
I deserve it don't I? You know what I did but I don't, so tell me, do I deserve it?

She is so frustrating, every time we're getting somewhere she just pushes me away.

You know what that's it, I'm done being good and nice to her, I'm a mafia leader, I will be harsh and cold towards her from now on, I won't let her get under my skin, I'm moving on from Adriana, from now on, she's just my best friend's pathetic little sister, I'm gonna act like a vampire, and turn my emotions off towards her, I'm used to turning my emotions off, I always do it at work.

Adriana's pov

"We're here" He says harshly making me slightly flinch at his sudden tone.

"Bye" I mutter before slamming his car door and walking to my house.

It's for the best, I'm not gonna lie, it did hurt a little, but I can't be friends with him, it will never work, from now on, he's just my brother's best friend, nothing more nothing less, I will be dry and distant, I need to move on from our friendship, or whatever we had I guess.

He's just my brother's best friend.
