Tuesday morning

Adriana's pov

Let me just clarify something, I don't like jerk face okay? And I surely don't care if he's ignoring me or not, but he's been acting very weird since yesterday in the cafeteria, after the little prank I pulled on him and Ashton, is that why he's being so distant? Is he afraid that I might find out something? I will say it again I DON'T CARE ABOUT HIM OKAY? I just want to know why he's ignoring me? I'm the one who should be mad at him, I wasn't being pushy about his little secret, it was just a prank, he's the one who's been pushy wanting to know why I won't forgive him or why I'm mad.

Kayla won't be coming until lunch, which means, today Ashton is giving me a ride to school, WHICH MEANS, jerk face is going to be here, ugh does he have to be everywhere?

"Adriana stop daydreaming we're gonna be late!" Ashton yells from the living room.

"Since when do you care about being late?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"Well I'm not in the mood for detention because of your late ass" He replies.

"It's a pleasure to make you late" I say playfully as I hop into Ashton's car.

"You know that Jace will be with us right?" Ashton asks in a serious voice.

"Yes I know, why doesn't he take his own car?" I ask confused.

"Hum, because he-, oh look this is my favorite song" Ashton says suspiciously as he turns on the radio.

I turn off the radio and look at him "Stop it with all of the lies Ashton! What is going on? Why can't he take his own car?" I ask annoyed.

Ashton's pov

Adriana turns off the radio and turn look at me "Stop it with all of the lies Ashton! What is going on? Why can't he take his own car?" She asks annoyed.

Look, Jace is a freaking MAFIA LEADER, he doesn't own normal cars! He owns sports cars like BMW, Porsche, Tesla, oh yes I've been in Jace's Tesla and IT'S SO FREAKING COOL.

What do I tell her?

I mean Jace does have a normal car that he uses sometimes, but it's still expensive, I know how Adriana is, she will ask so many questions until we finally blurt everything out, she would be good in the torture room, basically in the torture room, Jace and I torture people to get informations out of them, Adriana would be good for that job, but sadly it's too dangerous.

Adriana's pov

"Look stop being nosy okay? He does have a car but he doesn't like to use it" Ashton says harshly and annoyed.

"Okay calm your ass down Ashton, it was a simple question" I huff and turn to look outside the window.

What is going on with Ashton these days? Every time I ask a very innocent question about his little secret, he would go crazy about how 'nosy and curious' I'm being, look if this secret is that important to them, I will back off a little, but giving up completely, yeah not gonna happen, I could just try and follow Ashton without him knowing, and boom problem solved.

I'm cut off from my thoughts when I hear the backseat door slam shut, great now jerk face is here, I was being sarcastic if you didn't get it.

"Hey Ash" Jerk faces says as he adjusts himself on the seat.

"Hey man, you alright?" Ashton asks.

"I'm good, how are you?" He questions my brother.

What kinda conversation is that?

"I'm fine, oh I almost forgot to ask, are we meeting up after school to go to the" Ashton starts "mansion" He whispers the last part, thank God I have good ears, otherwise I wouldn't have heard him.

Jerk face kicks Ashton's seat "What?!" Ashton yells.

"Shut up!" Jerk face whispers in Ashton's ear.

OKAY! WHAT IS GOING ON?! What mansion?! And why is jerk face kicking Ashton's seat? OH! I'M SO SMART! If he kicked Ashton's seat it's probably because he doesn't want me to know! If there's a mansion it's probably part of their secret! I'm following them today, after school, I need to find out what is going on.

"Adriana?" Ashton asks bringing me back to reality.

"Yeah?" I ask confused.

"Did you hear something?" Jerk face interferes.

"The first thing you say to me after ignoring me for days for I don't know what is 'did you hear something?' unbelievable" I huff rolling my eyes.

"Adriana, it's not time for jokes, did you hear something?!" He asks harshly.

"I didn't hear anything" I say annoyed as I leave the car heading to school.

Few hours later, I was now done of school, I'm currently heading out trying to find Ashton.

I start walking towards my car, (I know that I came to school with Ashton, but I may have skipped few classes to go back home and take my car, I told Ashton that Kayla was bringing me back home, I really need to be careful) trying to spot my target, and bingo, found him, Ashton looks around him suspiciously before getting into his car and driving off, I quickly start my car and follow him discreetly.

Ashton's pov

When you're driving you have to be extra careful, you don't know if someone's been following you, and that's my case, I have been driving for the past 30 minutes trying to avoid the car behind me, I don't know who that is but I'm sure that it's some spies from other mafias trying to find Jace's house.

I stop my car and take my gun carefully putting it in my waistband, always have a waistband and a gun with you, I have a secret place in the car where I put my guns, I jump out of my car and start walking to the car that has been following me for the past hour. They see me coming so they try to drive off but I open the driver's seat door and my eyes widen when I see a very anxious Adriana.

"What the f**k are you doing here Adriana?!" I yell frustrated.

"I was just driving around here because I was bored" She lies.

"Adriana you scared me! I thought that I was being followed by a psychopath!" I yell, the last part was half true, I thought she was a spy.

"What are you doing here?" She asks raising an eyebrow.

"I was going to a friend's house, but when I saw someone following me, I started to freak out so I tried to loose you on the road" Again it's half true, I was indeed going to a friend's house, and I was indeed trying to loose her, but she doesn't need to know the next part.

"Oh" She says looking down.

"Why were you following me Adriana?" I sigh frustrated, she's starting to get closer and closer everyday.

"I heard you talking to jerk face in the car about a mansion, so I wanted to follow you to see what's your little secret" She admits.

So she did hear us!

"Adriana, we weren't talking about a mansion, we huh-, Jace wants to hum- look for a job so he can buy a mansion, and we were going to look for one" That was the worst lie I've ever said, I hope that she believed me.

"Oh okay, I'm sorry Ashton" She says before closing the driver's seat door, and driving off.

I really feel bad, she's probably thinking about how dumb it was to follow me, she is very smart, but I'm doing this for her own safety, I sigh before walking back to my car.

Once I'm at Jace's mansion, I say hi to Garry the gate security, he opens the gate for me and I park my car in Jace's parking before walking into his mansion from the security door.

The security guards nod at me before opening the doors, I put my cold and merciless face on before walking to Jace's office, I knock and he answers "come in" in a cold voice.

"Hey Ash" Jace says with his normal teenage guy's voice.

"We have a problem" I say getting straight to the point.

"What happened?" He asks as he stands up.

"Adriana" I say and then notice the emotions washing over him, love, pain, guilt, stress and fear.

"Is she okay?" He questions nervously.

"She heard us in the morning, when I talked about the mansion, she followed me, but I caught her and made up an excuse about how you want to find a job to buy a mansion, I feel so bad, she felt dumb when she knew that we weren't doing anything suspicious, Jace Adriana is getting closer everyday, we have to do something, but what?" I ask worriedly.

Hi eyes widen when he hears me "I told you to shut up Ashton! Adriana is very smart, she was going to find out if you didn't catch her!" Jace says frustrated.

"I know that okay? And I'm sorry, I wasn't being careful, what can we do?" I ask as I walk around his office trying to find a way to stop Adriana from going further with her curiosity.

"We tell her everything" Jace answers like it's something easy to do.
