Friday afternoon,

Adriana's pov

"Hey Anna, what can I get you today?" Maddie loves to call me Anna, just remove the Adri from my name and voila.

"Hum, I will have a cookies and cream milkshake with a cheese and ham sandwich please" I tell her my order.

"Weird combination, I will go get your order, and then we'll talk" She says before leaving.

While waiting for Maddie to come back, I decide to take a short nap, I put my arms on the table and fall asleep on it as if it were some kind of pillow.

As time passes quickly, I wake up from my nap, I look around me and see that I am still on my table and that the restaurant is empty.

For how long have I slept?

"Maddie? Are you here?" I yell through this very creepy silence.

"Adriana, you're finally awake, let's go sit" She gestures for me to go sit with her.

"What time is it? Where is everyone? Where is my food? Why didn't you wake me up? For how long have I slept?" I question Maddie.

"Wow calm down, to answer your questions, it's 11 pm, I am shocked that you slept this long, you came here around 3 or 4 pm maybe, this shows that you haven't been sleeping. What is going on? I am worried about you." She asks her voice really worried.

"It's true, I haven't been sleeping well." I sigh leaning back on my seat.

"You can talk to me you know, we have known each other for a long time." She reassures me.

"My parents are getting divorced, Ashton knew but didn't tell me, I moved out and know I am living with jerk face, I haven't been sleeping, because of school too, I go to sleep late, and wake up very early, oh and let's not forget yesterday I fainted because of my family, I had to process way too much informations that my brain couldn't take it and I blacked out" I sigh after letting all of this out.

"Oh Adriana, I'm sorry, I didn't know that you were going through all of this, I would've been there for you, you just didn't tell me" She says sitting next to me and hugging me.

"Thank you Madds, and don't be sorry it's not your fault, thank you for letting me sleep." I thank her.

"To answer your other questions, well the restaurant is closed because it's past 10 pm, I put your food in the microwave when I saw you sleeping, I didn't wake you up because you seemed so peaceful and you needed this sleep, look your dark circles have vanished, and I think that you have been sleeping for 5 hours now if not more. I will go get you your food." She says as she stands up and go behind the counter.

I take my phone out of my pocket, and check my unread messages.

Ashton 100 unread messages. Wow, now this has to be in the record book or whatever it's called.

Kayla 25 unread messages. Thinking about Kayla and Sophia, it has been a while that I haven't seen them, probably since my birthday that was a month ago, honestly I do miss them, but they are the least of my worried right now, not trying to be a hypocrite, my life is just too complicated right now, there are some 'family issues' so that's why I haven't been around them.

Mom 75 unread messages. My family needs to be in a phone messaging contest.

Jerk face 147 unread messages. You know what forget what I said, jerk face beats them all.

Just a little reminder, I ended up in the flying biscuit cafe, because of his rude and annoying ass.

What is taking Maddie so long.

"Maddie? Are you okay?" I yell.

"Yeah, I'm just trying to fix the microwave sorry for the long wait" She says her head peeking over the door.

"Okay" I chuckle and turn my attention back to my phone.

I open the 147 unread messages from jerk face.

Jerk face: 6:30pm: Adriana, where are you? You have been out for two hours!

Jerk face: 7:45pm: Adriana! Don't mess with my patience, come back home now!

Who does he think he is trying to order me to do something! He is the one who's wrong!

Jerk face: 8:25pm: Adriana, I am starting to get worried, please come back.

Is he bipolar or something? Wait, he is probably on his period, that explains the mood swings.

Jerk face: 9:45pm: Adriana, come back home, are you okay? I'm gonna start looking for you if you don't come back.

Jerk face: 10:45pm: Adriana, I'm sorry, you left because of me, I know that I was being rude, you were already having a very bad day, me being rude didn't solve anything. Please come back home.

I got bored of reading all of the messages, so I decided to scroll down to the most recent one. It's currently 00:13, it's already past midnight.

Jerk face: 11:45pm: Adriana, you got me very worried, please tell me that you are okay, and if you got messages from Ashton, it's because he asked me if I saw you so I told him that you were out at the mall. Don't worry I didn't tell him that you live with me, I just told him that you called me and you said that you were out at the mall. Please let me know if you're safe.

I felt relieved that he didn't tell Ashton that I live with him now, I will tell him soon, but I just want to relax now.

"There you go" Maddie says as she puts the tray of food in front of me.

"Thanks Madds, but I gotta go, can I take them with me?" I ask feeling bad.

"Sure, but first I have great news." She says clapping her hands.

"What is it?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"You know how I used to go to Meadowlark High School because it was closer to my house?" She starts.

"Yeah what about it?" I question her.

"Well, now that my parents got me a car, I got transferred to Riverdale High School, your school!!" She yells excitedly.

"Wait what? Are you serious!!" I yell in excitement.

"Yeah, we have the same classes!" She continues.

"I am so happy Madds, I have to go now, see you on Monday!" I yell waving at her before leaving the restaurant.

I look at my phone and it's 00:45, wow it's almost 1 am, I have to get on the way.

I start the car, and put on some music, after 20 minutes of driving, I am finally at jerk face's house.

If I was in my old house, it would take only 10 minutes to get to the flying biscuit cafe, but since I changed locations, it's 20 minutes drive, that's the only thing I don't like about my new 'home'.

I take my new keys, and open the door, I try closing it very discreetly. I go to the kitchen and sit on the counter sighing happily, because I didn't wake jerk face, but my happy moment soon faded when I see him standing on the door frame, putting all his weight on one foot, his hands crossed on his chest, we make eye contact and his eyes look dangerous mad, worried, guilty and cold.

How can he feel guilt and worry at the same time as dangerous mad and cold?

I decide to break the silence "Hum...hey?"

He doesn't answer.

"Are you okay?" I ask again, but he doesn't answer.

"Jerk face?" I ask again getting impatient, you know what if he doesn't want to talk why is he standing like a wall? I'm leaving.

"You know what" I say as I stand up "I'm not doing this" I say pointing at him and I, I meant that I wasn't having this 'why were you out so late' talk.

I start leaving but he grabs my arm pulling me back in the kitchen.

"Leave me alone" I tell him quietly before trying to leave the kitchen, the key word is trying.

"What is wrong with you? You want me to stay but you are standing in front of me like a wall! Talk or move!" I say raising my tone.

"Don't raise your voice at me!" He yells.

"I will do whatever I want! SO LEAVE ME THE F**K ALONE! OR START TALKING!" I shout right in his face. Nobody tells me to stop yelling.

He sighs knowing that he wasn't going to win this argument and says "Where were you?"

"Why do you want to know? You are not my dad, I don't have a curfew." I say crossing my arms on my chest.

"Adriana, I remind you that you are living in my hou-" I cut him off "Look jerk face, I am not begging you for anything, I could simply call Kayla and ask her if I could stay at her house, so stop acting like a fu**ing parent!" I don't yell but I do raise my voice.

I start going up the stairs to pack my stuff, but jerk face stops me in the middle of the stairs "Why are you acting like this! I have been nothing but good to you, and you're not being grateful for anything! I can at least get a thank you!" He yells.

"I don't need you to be nice to me if it's to brag about it" I say before going up the stairs and packing my stuff.

"Wait-" I cut him off "There is no wait, I am leaving, I knew that it was a bad choice accepting this offer, you were not being good to me because you wanted to try and get our friendship back, you just wanted me to stay at yours, just so you can brag about it every time I'm being 'ungrateful' to you" I yell and leave the house.

I call Kayla 5 times but she doesn't answer, wait why don't I call Maddie, she is probably not sleeping.

I call Maddie, and tell her everything that happened "Of course you can stay at mine, for as long as you want honey" She says through the phone.

"Thank you Madds, I'll be there in 20 minutes." I say before hanging up.

I spent my whole day in this car, I just want some rest, why is my life so hard, I just want to rest.

I arrived at Maddie's house, and went to the living room.

"I am so tired Madds" I sigh.

"I'm really worried about you Adriana, go get some sleep in the guest room." She tells me.

"Okay, thank you Maddie for everything. Good night" I tell her.

"Night" She answers.

I forgot to tell you, Maddie also knows everything that happened in the past, I have known her for like a very long time, when Sophia wasn't in our school (A/N: When Sophia was in a different school, the drama with Jace happened), I spent my whole time with Maddie and Kayla, they do know each other, but Kayla was always jealous of our friendship because she says that we always leave her alone when we're together.

I really love Maddie, and know that I live with her and that she goes to my school, we will become closer than ever.
