Chapter 1
*Charlie's P.O.V*
"Lottie," A familiar voice cooed, "Lott, wake up." I debated whether or not I should ignore the voice and go back to sleep, but when my name was called again, I decided against the idea and slowly opened my eyes, so reveal to face of my big brother, Ryan.
"What?" I groaned.
"Daisy's had to go to work, so you need to come with me to the studio." He told me.
"Why can't I just stay here?" I whined, putting my arm over my face to block out the sunlight as Ryan had opened my curtains.
"Because I don't like leaving you here on your own, you know that." He replied.
"But you left me home alone when you and Daisy went shopping on Monday." I reminded him, not moving my arm.
"That was different. We were only gone for a couple hours, but me and Daisy will be out all day today. Come on, it won't be that bad. You'll get to see Izzy, Rosie, Jack and Joe." He pointed out.
"Oh, fine." I huffed, sitting up in bed.
"That's my girl." He smiled.
"Yeah, whatever. Get out of my room." I grumbled. As you can tell, I'm not a morning person. Ryan chuckled at my typical teenage mood before leaving my Tumblr inspired bedroom. My bedroom was rather cliche, I will admit that.
"I can't believe you're making me get up at 6 o'clock on a Saturday morning." I muttered just loud enough for Ryan to hear as he closed my bedroom door behind him. I got out of bed and went over to my wardrobe to find something to wear. I had a shower last night, so I didn't need to have one this morning. I stripped my body of my pyjamas and changed into the outfit I'd chosen; a white t-shirt with a small pineapple on the right of the chest and the word 'Love' written across the pineapple in black cursive writing, black and red tartan leggings, white Adidas Superstar shoes with black stripes and an army green bomber jacket with a variety of funky badges randomly sewn on. I put my hair in two french braids and slipped on a couple of chokers, one of which had a rainbow heart dangling from it. I also slipped a black rhinestone ring on my right middle finger. Lastly, I applied a little makeup to my pale face before I was finally ready for the day ahead.
Before leaving my room and going downstairs, I snapped an Eiffel Tower phone case onto my rose gold iPhone 6s.
"I'm running late so you'll have to grab something at the canteen for breakfast." Ryan told me as he was putting his coat on.
"So now you're depriving me of the most important meal of the day as well?!" I complained.
"Just come on." Ryan rolled his eyes at me before we both left the house and got in his car.
Ryan drove us to the ITV Yorkshire Studios and the two of us headed straight for the Emmerdale studio.
"Do you wanna head over to the canteen then for some breakfast?" Ryan asked me.
"Yeah, okay. What are you doing now?" I answered.
"I don't really know until Iain tells me." He laughed slightly.
"Okay, well, I'll just come find you after I've eaten." I said. Ryan nodded before I headed to the canteen. I got myself a simple fruit salad and a bottle of water, before looking for somewhere to sit.
"Charlie!" A voice from behind me called. I spun round to see Isobel, Rosie and Jack sat at a table, having their own breakfast.
"Hey." I smiled, walking over to their table.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Rosie asked me.
"Daisy had to work and Ryan didn't want to leave me home alone, so I had to come with him to work." I explained, "Where's Joe?"
"Filming with Matthew." Jack explained.
"Why? You missing your boyfriend?" Isobel smirked, gently nudging me with her elbow.
"Shut up." I laughed.
"Is that a blush I see on your face, Lottie?" Rosie said just as teasingly.
"I am not blushing." I rolled my eyes.
"It looks like it to me." Jack chimed in. The three of them think that me and Joe are madly in love and as you can see, they love to tease us about it. I have no idea why they think me and Joe like each other in that way, though. We're just friends, just like we all are.
"What are you lot up to today, anyway?" I asked, desperate to change the topic.
"Well, me and this one have a scene in about fifteen minutes in Aaron, Chas and Charity's living room set." Isobel told me.
"And I'm filming with John at the same time." Rosie said, referring to John Middleton who plays Ashley.
"Oh, okay." I said. I was a little disappointed that I would have no one to hang out with while they were filming, but I couldn't exactly stop them from doing their jobs, and I was sure I'd be able to find something to do.
"But I think Joe will have finished filming with Matthew by then, so you might have a few minutes to hang out with him." Isobel said.
"Cool." I smiled. I saw the smug looks on the three of their faces, so I quickly jumped in and said, "I swear, if any of you say anything about mine and Joe's relationship, I will-"
"Wait, so you two are in a relationship?" Rosie interrupted with a smirk.
"That's not what I meant and you know it!" I gently hit my brunette friend on the shoulder.
"Relax, Char, we weren't going to say anything anyway." Jack said.
"Yeah, sure you weren't." I nodded sarcastically. Before long, Isobel, Rosie and Jack had to be on set so we all left the canteen. I bid the three of them goodbye as they went to where they needed to be and I went my own way to try and find my brother. On my way, I ended up bumping into Joe.
"Charlie." Joe smiled upon seeing me.
"Hey." I smiled back.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Oh, Daisy's at work and Ryan didn't want to leave me home alone, so I had to come with him to work." I repeated what I had explained to Isobel, Rosie and Jack earlier, "You finished filming with Matt?"
"How did you know I was..." He trailed off, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"Jack told me." I explained.
"You've seen Jack?" He asked.
"Yeah, I had breakfast in the canteen with him, Izzy and Rosie." I said.
"Oh, right." He nodded.
"So, what are you up to now?" I asked curiously.
"Nothing, really. I've got about half an hour before my next scene." He said.
"Good, then you can help me find Ryan." I practically ordered.
"You could at least say please." He chuckled.
"Please?" I gave him puppy dog eyes.
"Okay, but only because it's you." He said with a smile. I grinned, before dragging him with me. "When did you last see him?" Joe asked me as we walked through the halls.
"Before I went to get breakfast, which was about twenty minutes ago. He had no idea what he was supposed to be doing, so I don't even know what set he's on or anything." I explained. Conveniently, at that very moment, we were met with Danny Miller.
"Danny!" I grinned. I've gotten pretty close to him since Aaron and Robert's storyline started.
"Hey, kiddo." He beamed, "Hey, Joe." He greeted Joe as well.
"Have you seen my brother?" I asked the twenty-five year-old actor.
"Yeah, I was just shooting with him. He should still be at the Woolpack set. I think he's filming with Louise at the moment." He told me.
"Oh, okay. Thanks." I smiled.
"No problem, kid." He patted my head, only for me to swat his hand away.
"I'm not a dog." I glared playfully at him.
"You're about as tall as one, though." He teased.
"Oh, wow, how long did it take you to come up with that one?" I rolled my eyes. Danny just chuckled at my snarky remark.
"I need to get to the scrapyard location, so I'll see you two later, yeah?" He said. Joe and I said goodbye before we parted with him. I looked at Joe to see he was smirking.
"What?" I asked.
"You and Danny act more like brother and sister than you and Ryan do sometimes." He laughed. I just shrugged, a giggle of my own escaping. We walked to the Woolpack set, to find Ryan filming a scene with Louise Marwood, who for those of you who don't know, plays Chrissie White. Joe and I stood on the sidelines until the scene was over and Ryan walked over with Louise.
"Did you get breakfast?" He asked, being the concerned big brother that he was. I loved Ryan to absolute death, he cared about me more than probably anyone else in my life and he always had my best interest at heart, but he could be a tad overbearing sometimes.
"Yeah, I saw Rosie, Izzy and Jack as well." I said.
"Good." He smiled, resting an arm across my shoulders.
"I'm gonna go hang out with Joe now." I said, looking up at my 6 ft tall brother.
"Alright, see you later." He gave a shoulder a squeeze of affection before I went back to Joe. I said hello and chatted to Louise for a couple minutes before the two of us left The Woolpack set. We went to the lounge, which is basically just a hang out place for when people are between scenes and on a break and want somewhere to relax. It has really comfy sofas, a TV, a coffee machine and various snacks. It was pretty cool and I spent a lot of time in there when I had to go to work with Ryan.
"Do you want some crisps?" Joe asked me as I plopped down on one of the black leather sofas.
"Yeah, can I have salt and vinegar please?" I asked politely. Joe grabbed me a packet of Walkers Salt and Vinegar crisps (Disclaimer: I do not own Walkers or anything except Charlie for that matter!) and some cheese and onion ones for himself, before coming to join me on the sofa. "Cheers." I smiled as he handed me my crisps. For a while, we just laid on the sofa, messing around on Social Media and I took a selfie with him to post on Instagram. I posted it with the caption:
@Charlie.Elise At the brother's work with this dork 😊 @joeplant10
In case you didn't figure it out, my Instagram username is @Charlie.Elise. People started liking the picture within, like, five seconds of me posting it, which made me smile. I guess you could say I'm quite popular on Instagram. I'm pretty popular on Musical.ly as well, I guess.
Unfortunately, it wasn't long before Joe had to get back to work.
"I sucks being the only untalented one out of our friends." I huffed.
"Shut up." Joe said, "You are talented, you can act just as well as me and the others can."
"And yet, you're the ones with roles on one of the most popular soap operas in the country." I pointed out.
"That doesn't mean anything. Plus, not only can you act, you can sing as well, which the rest of us can't." He said.
"I can't sing." I snorted.
"Are you kidding me? I've heard you, Char. You have an incredible voice." He told me sternly, placing his hands on my shoulders. I smiled, feeling myself blush. "Come on, you can tag along with me to the set."
"Okay, who are you filming with?" I asked.
"Matt and Roxy." He answered.
"Nice." I grinned, before we left the lounge and headed to David's Shop set, where Joe was meant to be.
"Hey, Charlie." Roxy Shahidi, A.K.A Leyla Harding grinned as Joe and I arrived, "You here with Ryan?"
"Yeah." I replied, smiling back at her.
"Well, if it isn't Miss Charlotte Hawley." A familiar voice declared.
"Hello, Matthew." I played along, smiling at the actor for David Metcalfe. I guess I should thank my brother for being such a talented actor, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten the role of Robert Sugden in the first place and I wouldn't have made some of the best friends I'll ever have in my lifetime.
Joe, Roxy and Matthew got on with the scene and I stood to the side, making sure I didn't get in the way of the cameras, playing on my phone.
A couple hours later, it was lunchtime and I got a text from Rosie.
From: Ro-boat 😛😚💙😸
Me, Izzy, Jack and Tom are going to Costa for lunch. Wanna come? x
I replied as soon as the text came in.
To: Ro-boat 😛😚💙😸
Sure. I'm with Joe so shall I ask if he wants to come too? x
From:Ro-boat 😛😚💙😸
Yeah ok but no making out while we're eating 😉
To:Ro-boat 😛😚💙😸
Shut up 👿
From:Ro-boat 😛😚💙😸
I'm only messing around 😘
To:Ro-boat 😛😚💙😸
I know 😊😘
"The guys are going to Costa for lunch, you coming?" I asked Joe as I put my phone back in my pocket.
"Yeah, alright. Let's go." He smiled. As we made our way to meet the guys, I took my phone back out to text Ryan.
To: Brother Bear 💖🐻🙊
Going to Costa with Izzy, Rosie, Joe, Jack and Tom xx
From: Brother Bear 💖🐻🙊
Alright, be careful. Love you xx
To:Brother Bear 💖🐻🙊
Love you too xx
"Aww." Joe made me jump as I looked up to see he was watching me on my phone.
"Didn't anyone ever tell you it's rude to read other people's text messages?" I asked with a playful scowl. Joe just shrugged as we met up with the guys just outside the studio.
"Alright, Charlie?" Thomas asked me.
"Yeah, I'm good. How about you, Tommy?" I grinned.
"You know I don't like it when you call me that." He pouted.
"Awh, I'm sorry... Tommy." I smirked. Thomas playfully rolled his eyes as the six of us began walking to the bus stop. Even though Thomas's character, Lachlan is a total creep, Thomas is actually a really lovely person and a great friend. He's an amazing actor to be able to play someone so nasty when in reality he's nowhere near as horrible as that. It's like with Kate Ford, who plays Tracy Barlow in Coronation Street. Kate is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, yet she can still pull off playing someone as mean and bitchy as Tracy.
Anyways, we all got a bus into town and went to Costa. During the hour long lunch break the guys had, we all just messed around and acted like idiots, which was nothing new for us. We soon had to get back to the studio as they all had more work to do, but I found ways to entertain myself while they were all filming.
After a long day, Ryan finally finished work and we went home. Daisy came home not long after us and she cooked us some delicious lasagna for tea. After dinner, I did some homework and went on my laptop for a while, before I had a shower and went to bed.
