Emily's PoV:

I watched Mason leave and the door close behind him, now we were alone on the balcony. I watched him look at me with what it seemed... Concern? I don't know, I can't really decipher him.

"So what happened?" he asked breaking the silence

"Regina happened"

"Ohh" he made a sound not really surprised " What did she do?"

"She came to our room and asked why weren't we two sleeping together, she also remarked that it was something you would never do"

"She really knows me" he said with a snort, and I can't tell if he was being real or sarcastic

"So do to her knowledge, she sensed something weird" I explained

"So what do you want to do?"

"I am definitely not sleeping with you like ever your bad energy would probably contain me" I said taking a small step back from him

"Well we don't have much options"

"Not with Regins here. Now we have to act like a couple which I wasn't planning on doing the whole Vacation"
I explained well sort of accused him

"You are still mad at me aren't you?"

"Look at you, you are starting to read between the lines" I murmured

"Ok, look if you don't want to sleep with me I don't see how can we solve this" he said, and for probably the first time he was right

"Ok... well I will not sleep with you in the same bed but I can tolerate your bad energies from afar"

"Wow so thoughtfull" he fired back

"You bet I am, if it wasn't for me your precious Regina wouldn't be here right now"

"Fine you're right"

"I can sleep on the couch then"

"Fine" I responded "but what if she comes in the middle of the night?" I asked thinking about how crazy she is

"Why would she come in the middle of the night?" he asked with a dumb face

"Well because if you didn't realise your ex girlfriend is crazy"

"I will lock the door, we have the suite" He mentioned as I nodded in agreement

"Ok deal" I said extended my hand

"Deal" he said grabbing my hand and shaking it, I couldn't ignore the weird feeling his skin against mine made but it was all probably due to my new capacity of hating him.

"Are you done being mad at me?" he asked and I felt my rage building up

"Why are you saying it like that?"

"Like what?"

"Like if I don't have a reason to be mad at you"

"Well you barely let me talk to you"

"Maybe because I didn't want to"

"Then stop being mad at me when you didn't let me say sorry" his words made me stop, I guess its the first time I hear that word leaving his mouth. He was starting to be conscious of his acts or maybe he just saying because he was nothing else better to do

"I tried to call for you. Hell! I went after you and my sister but Mason stopped me in the way and made Jaden pick you up" He explained while rubbing his hand on his hair "I really blew it up, Regina hugged me in front of everyone and I stood there like a freaking stone. I am sorry. I know that looked really wrong to you"

"To me no but to everyone else it may, yes" I responded as his sort of apology, really rusty apology "I've grown to the realization you are nothing but Regina's subordinate and I am fine with it but I don't want to be humiliated"

" I know "

"Yeah you do... but its my name that runs the school mouth saying that you cheated on me right in my face. That was last week rumour" I told him as he shook his head

"Fuck" he muttered as he took a deep breath I watched his chest go up and then down. His eyes landed on me as he head played low as in a shame "I am sorry, Emily"

And without wanting I felt my heart doing a loop in my chest. He was so sincere, his hazel eyes were completely blinding me with sincerity, that made me look like the bad guy. Not to mention the way he said my name, in a way I has never heard him say before, a way that made me not think straight at all.

But I have to wake up I need to, Aiden hurt me pretty bad due to his naiveness and idioticly obsession with Regina, I can't surrender now turn back to be completely dazed by my best friend's brother.

"Well you know... actions speak louder than words" I mentioned with a bit of uncertainty trying to shake these feelings off

"Right..."

"LETS GO SKYING!" He heard someone shout from inside gladly stopping our conversation. I look at Aiden, he seemed sad and I actually think I saw him pout but maybe it was just my imagination

"We should go" he simply said looking at me one last time as I nodded, he turned around opening the door and letting me inside first.

"LET'S GOOOOO" Cameron cheered passing through us while rushing downstairs, we did too meeting everyone in the living room sat on the couch, like we were having a little reunion.

Luke stood up as if he was about to give a speech "So... Skiing right? We all agree?" he asked to everyone sat on the couch

"I agree!" Cameron said lifting his hand

"Me two" Jaden said lifting his hand with the number two 

"I agree but we need to take the groceries out of the car" Mason said. Right the groceries I almost forgot... me and everyone else, Mason really looked like the Dad of the group.

"If we are skying now, what do we plan for dinner?" Alyssa asked... right dinner, also forgot about that and by the faces so did everyone

"We will grab some pizza's near the ski lounge" Jaden proposed as the boys agreed

"Cool, all done?" Luke questioned, since no one interrupted " THEN LETS GOOOO" he shouted loudly making Jaden and Cameron cheer after him. Luke was about to walk happily upstairs to probably get in his Ski equipment but Mason stopped him

"Groceries first" he recalled

"Right! GROCERIES WE GO!" Luke cheered. We all worked in them besides Regina who stood on the couch she was afraid of breaking a nail with the weight of the bags of groceries, so we helped each other bringing the groceries inside that were in the car and then we organize them in that beautiful kitchen.

After everything was done we went to the ski slope by foot since it was pretty close, near by was also a ski lounge with a cozy bar at least it looked like it from inside.

"Ok who's going with who?" Cameron asked as we arrived the chairlift to take us high up the mountain.

"Pic!" I heard Amy cheer as Nate and Alyssa smiled to her phone, I smiled at how cute they looked, besides of being inside this warm equipment and huge helmets they still looked cute.

"I am afraid of heights" Regina said quickly caughting my attention and grabbing onto Aiden's arm, making my eyes tools automatically

"Regina" he muttered as he grabbed her hand and took it off his arm

"Come on princess, I'll go with you" Jaden volunteered as if it was a sacrifice, he dragged her through the snow

"I am going with my girlfriend" Aiden remarked making me open my eyes, and thank the gods I had the glasses down because I was not only shocked but flustered.

Alyssa quickly locked at me probably remembering I am not much fan of heights "Are you going to be alright ?" she whispered at me, I nodded with a smile leaving her more relaxed

"But I-" Regina tried to say but once she knew she was sat near Jaden ready to go high up in the mountain. "Nooo— let me go"

"We going too" Luke mentioned sitting on the next chair next to Cameron

"This one!" Nate exclaimed grabbing Alyssa by the hand and jumping to the chairlift, the chairs were taking a while and that was enough for Amy to twirl around and make heart eyes to Mason the only one left

"So.... Do you wanna go with me?" she said batting her eyelashes, he stood intact, with no reaction at all and no reaction since he had his glasses on and scarf too. 

"We are going too bye girl" Selena waved at me while jumping into the next chairlift and pulling Amy by the arm

"But but" Amy pouted as she was lifted by the chair into the hair, while her arm was still stretched and a visible pout on her face meanwhile Mason showed no reaction, he had his glasses and scarf on which made impossible to see his face but even his posture didn't change after Amy's begging scene

"Should we go now?" Aiden questioned me I was about to respond but a strange and somewhat familiar voice stopped me

"Well look at that, I arrived just on time" I looked around to see who this voice belonged to and indeed I found a very familiar face that...Ca-

"Cady Jones is here" she smiled looking with her big blue eyes at Mason as if he enchanted her "Did i arrived just on time for skiing?"

"I guess so" Aiden commented

"Great, I guess the lovebirds are going together. Then I am going with you" She said to Mason as she sat down confiant in the chair and tapping it slightly demanding him to sit down

"Well this is going to be a problem" Mason mentioned wile letting a small chuckle in the end

"What do you mean?" Aiden asked but Mason didn't answer he just sat don't on the chairlift next to Cady and left with no explanation

"What did he meant by a problem?" i took the opportunity to ask Aiden once Mason and Cady were far away

"I have no idea. Cady isn't usually a problem" he explained as we sat on the chair

"But he clearly meant she would be a problem, do you think it's a problem for us?" I started to panic " It's another person we have to lie to for a whole week"

"Stop panicking and hold the bar" he demanded as he put down the bar of the chairlift with one hand effortlessly

"Fine..." I murmured holding the bar in front of me

"He probably mentioned something else." Aiden spoke leaving me more relaxed "Cady never causes much trouble she is just the typical wealthy brat"

"How do you know?" I asked interested

"Well, when Regina and I dat- were a thing, Cady always joined. She didn't cause any trouble but she was very - tiring"

"tiring?"I asked with frowned eyebrows

" She talks a lot and she wears out Mason's name" He explained " I guess she has a thing for him"

"Ohhh" I said finally understanding nodding to myself, I looked around at the vast snow, the view was definitely beautiful. Everything was covered in snow and as I looked around I suddenly made the huge mistake of looking down.

I gripped the safety bar so tight, I'm sure my knuckles went white. Aiden was right next to me, calm as ever, but all I could see was the endless white stretching out beneath us. "Oh we are really high"

"Hey, are you okay? " Aiden asked, his voice steady, like he wasn't a million feet off the ground, oh dear gods why have I accepted to join this I don't even like skying. I wanted to believe him, but everything around me felt wrong. The ground was disappearing, the trees were shrinking, and it felt like we were floating in some kind of icy void. The fear was crushing me, making it hard to breathe, and I desperately tried to focus on my breathing and trying to control it.

Aiden must have noticed because he gently put his arm around my shoulders, pulling me a little closer. "Just focus on me, alright? Don't look down. We've got this."

what an embarrassment

I nodded, but my heart was still racing. Every time the lift swayed, I thought I might actually pass out, it felt like one wrong move would send me tumbling into nothing. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to ignore everything else, even him.

"Look at me, Emily," Aiden said, his voice firmer this time. I opened my eyes slowly and carefully just trying to look at him, and there he was, right next to me, calm and solid. "It's fine" he said, smiling a little like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

His confidence was almost contagious. Almost. I focused on his voice, on the warmth of his arm around me, trying to drown out the fear that was still in me. "I am fine" I said trying to shake all this off like I had absolutely nothing and I could erase this super embarrassing moment out of my memories but my hands never left the bar gripping it tight. I was only hoping he believed in me and forgot this utterly embarrassing moment.

My heart tightened as I felt something wrap around my hand, a stringing warmth that made me feel like home I looked down focusing on his hand wrapped in mine and for a moment I forgot I was like 40 feet above in the sky "I'm right here" he said softly almost in a whisper, "We're almost there."

And somehow I felt my body relax with him next to me, it became a little easier to breathe, a little easier to believe that I might actually make it through this. I just let him held onto my hand, blocking out the rest, and watching him look at me with his nose red and soft smile waiting for that moment when I'd feel the ground beneath my feet again.
