Emily's PoV:

I had a secret crush on my brother's best friend it's true. Since a young age I was completely crazy over him, how could I not, when everyone else had it to? I presume I was just a normal person who like everyone was a fan of him.

But teenage girl dreams are meant to be ruined I guess.

I mean ding get me wrong, if you asked me 20 minutes ago I would say that I was supposedly living a fever dream. Being the fake girlfriend of the guy I has a thing for it was like Aphrodite heard me. The stars must be aligned or something... that was what I thought.

Turns out somethings are better from a distance, a nice cozy and comfortable distance like volcanoes, storms, tornados, deserts and watching a movie at a cinema. These things are nice from a certain distance but then when you cross a line all of the beauty that you once saw can make your world come crashing down.

Another thing to join the list of better from a distance was Aiden.

From a distance he this handsome, kind, and hard working guy from up close he is just a handsome, annoying and dense guy.

Going to the party with him for our debut fake relationship was a disaster. He just went into the haunted house as if he was alone and didn't care about me, he just walked to where he wanted and grabbed a drink and went to the dancefloor. I couldn't even be with my friends because of this facade, but he was barely holding it on, it wasn't even about acting as if we were in a relationship it was just being considerate... honestly I doubt he knows that word, or that he knows anything around that terms.

In a perspective I realized why he and Regina may be a good match because he barely cares for anyone else that he doesn't the name.

I was standing next to him like a goddamn statue, watching people around me having fun and dancing and drinking while I was just there existing.

To my salvation I saw my best friend walk over to me alongside Cameron, and I was hoping this would be my clue to leave.

"Cam! What up you guys took some time" Aiden realized once he saw Cameron while side-hugging him

"Yeah Luke was almost turning into a vampire" he explained leaving me and Aiden confused, he could've asked but he simply shook it off and pointed at Regina in the middle of the dance floor.

"I see her"

"Yeah, good for you but act like you don't. You are supposed to make her jealous and you are here being showing these ridiculous moves while your girlfriend is dying in the corner" Cameron pointed out, oh how sweet of him.

"I know you suck at things in general but godammit Aiden can't just act for a bit" His sister questioned him clearly angry at him

"What do you want me to do? I really like Regina i can't help but to look at her in that sexy devil costume" Aiden referred making me open my eyes wide and almost get sick, how could he be so stupidly in love with that piece of plastic?

Oh my... I am turning into Alyssa.

"But your priority is to make her jealous not to fuck her with your eyes" Cameron explained

"Your priority is my best friend here! You better treat Emily right or forget the plan to conquer your dream girl" Alyssa defended me, I love her.

"I knew you just came up here to nag me" Aiden rolled his eyes

"You better get a grip or I swear to God that you won't get anyone's help on Regina" She threatened him, she ended me a drink and kissed my head leaving me

"What does she want me to do?" Aiden questioned Cameron, could this boy be more clueless? This was a fake dating thing, and he was acting like he didn't know me.

"act like you're in love... that's all" Cameron said giving him some taps on his back while I stood there waiting for this party to end. Our groups merged near us and were dancing on our front. Nate, Selena, Amy, and Alyssa were just inches away from me, making me feel more comfortable while Aiden's friends were next to my friends and talking to some girls they knew... I presumed.

The music was pretty catchy, and I smiled as I saw my friends having fun, and while Thriller by Michael Jackson was playing I watched them dance as I drank the whole tequila sunrise Alyssa had given me. It tasted like a lot of alcohol and sugar.

"Oh shit she is coming" I heard Aiden, and when I looked there she was dressed in the smallest piece of clothing, with two horns and a pair of tights that looked like a fishnet. While she seemed to get closer slowly, I could see Aiden's desperation by trying to play his act and to worsen the situation this all looked like a movie because the DJ started to play I put a spell on you.

"Hey Aiden" She said sweetly, she looked him up and down while she bit her tongue

"Regina" he said looking at her as if she really had put a spell oh him...what am i doing here?

She probably noticed me standing there and while looking at me up and down with a disgusted face she asked loudly so I could hear her  " Who are you?"

"Emily Day" I responded shyly how can I ever top her, her confidence and beauty she definitely as the gods on her side.

"Oh... isn't she a friend of your sister?" She asked me as if I couldn't respond by myself

"Yeah she is"

"Why is she here?" She asked and I just looked at him attentively waiting for what would he say

"Uh... she is ... my"

"I am his girlfriend" I said in a lowtune

"What?"

"She is my girlfriend" he backed me up and suddenly her expression changed looking at me up and down with her chin up, her face and her posture screamed superiority

"Really?" She asked making us both nod "Oh I remember you now. You were the one who defended Aiden back at Joe's right? Saying he changed?"

He didn't had a clue of what we were talking about.

"Yeah it's me " I said with a small smile

"Right... Well you look cute" She said smiling, but it seemed so fake. Oh dear gods from the Olympus she emanates such negative energy.

"Thank you, you look... well you look cute too" I smiled hoping she would just leave,  in frames of seconds I watched Aiden it looked like he was either dead or about to have a heart attack, he was just looking at Regina with eyes wide open and the rest of his body was intact, frozen.

"Thanks..." she took a look at Aiden while biting her lip making me a bit disgusted honestly "And you look hot like always"

"Thanks you too" he said quickly and impulsively although that wasn't any excuse

"Aiden! Come on, although I appreciate it you can't say stuff like that you have a girlfriend" She said mischievously smiling at him

"Oh it's okay" he responded making me frown my eyebrows

"it is?" She said with a huge grin while looking at me for some seconds and getting back at him

"Yeah" he responded

"Your girlfriend doesn't mind you calling me hot?" She asked biting her lip. I was on the verge of breaking my promise and hating someone.

"No... right?" He asked looking at me, and if this was in any other random situation I guess I would've melted at his sweet brown with a hint of green eyes yet I was filled with the lack of respect he had so I looked at him with a stern expression.

"Then she wouldn't mind you dancing with me either? right?" She asked looking at me with a grin that made me sick

"she-" he was about to answer for me again as if I didn't have a mouth so I gathered up the courage and finally spoke

"I guess you can, Aiden is old enough to make choices and know how to behave himself, right Aiden? " I asked fiercely looking at him " I am going to catch some air. Suit yourself" and just like that I let their side, I passed through my friends not wanting to tell them anything and I just left the house find my way out to catch some hair.

In other day, I would be scared to leave the party alone and just be outside all by myself but today I just felt like I needed to breath. I got out of the house into a balcony, I presumed this was the back of the house.

I saw a bench swing near a tree decorated with some yellow lights and a skeleton sat on it and I decided that would be my temporary company for now.

I walked there and sat by the skeleton.

Thinking about those two felt like a small stab in my chest. We were supposed to be faking this relationship, and while I knew it was all a scheme, I had hoped for some respect, some acknowledgment of our arrangement. But Aiden's behavior tonight was anything but respectful.

He had called his ex-girlfriend hot, right in front of me, which felt like a slap in the face. His words echoed in my mind, making my stomach swirl with a mixture of hurt and anger. I had agreed to do this fake relationship to help him make his ex-girlfriend jealous, but I hadn't signed up to be humiliated.

My fingers tightened around the cup I held, while my feet helped me swing. I hated feeling this way—angry, resentful, betrayed. These were emotions I rarely had , I always try to see the good in people, to stay calm and happy. But Aiden was pushing me to the brink. He was crossing lines I hadn't even realized were there until he stumbled over them.

I felt deeply upset with a sort of lump forming in my throat as I tried to swallow my feelings. Mostly, I just felt sad. Sad that someone I had started to care about, even if it was only pretend, could be so thoughtless.

I knew I needed to address this, to stand up for myself. couldn't just let Aiden treat me this way, fake relationship or not. I do deserve respect, and I wasn't going to let him—or anyone else—make me feel otherwise.

My cloudy thoughts vanish away when I hear a very familiar voice rambling making a small smile appear on my face " Why are you so annoying? I told you I could go by myself"

"I know you could I am just a gentleman I guess" Behind her was the owner of this voice, they seemed to be... fighting.

"A gentleman? It's Halloween not April Fool's" SHe responded as they got down from the balcony

"Is the alcohol making you grumpy?"

"Why don't you admit you wanted to smoke and saw an opportunity?" Alyssa fired back, I guess I had never seen them talk to each other like that

"Because that isn't a gentleman's behavior" Mason responded while leaning near a tree and taking the cigarette box out, his jacket of the FBI costume was now around his waist and he was only wearing a white thanks too while Alyssa had a concerned expression on her face and her head kept going from side to side till she stopped when she saw me.

"There you are!" She exclaimed happily getting closer to me "Can I?" she pointed to the skeleton, but i understood she was asking to sit by my side, I nodded and she took the opportunity to grab the skeleton and throw it to the ground. "I saw you running and I got worried is my brother the reason?"

I chuckled lightly understanding how transparent I was, by my reaction and quickly exit everyone must've realized he was the possible cause.

"Well..." I tried to say but she gave a deep breath understanding what was going on

"Em... I decided to help my brother do this not because I like Regina but because I was hoping that my brother would somehow learn from his mistakes in one way or another, I understood he was the one who had to realize who she was and what type of bad they meant to each other. But not once was it in the plan for my best friend to get hurt. I am guilty of telling you to be his fake girlfriend but this can stop at any moment my brother will figure his things out I don't want you to get hurt because of him" She explained making me smile at how adorable she was, not only caring about me but deep down about her brother too "You don't deserve to be hurt due to my brother's problems"

"Thank you Aly" I said giving her a hug "Your brother was not that kind back there, but don't worry I will take care of it" I smiled at her, I had decided after hearing her concern about the two of us that I was the one to confront this situation. I was the one who got hurt and I wanted to make sure to be heard"

"Really?" She asked happily "I love that you are standing up for yourself you know if you need help I am here to scream at him gladly"

"I know" I laughed and like the gods heard her, her golden opportunity came. Aiden got out of the party and appeared in the hallway and Alyssa started to ramble at him.

"I will kill you" She stated getting up from the swing

"Emily, you are here" he said walking quickly in our direction while looking at me. Although I was mad I couldn't deny that his name coming out of his mouth made my heart give twirls and his eyes locked on mine made my stomach burst into butterflies.

"You can hurt everyone but not her, Aiden! I told you this before" Alyssa said getting ready for her brother to get close

"I am sorry! I need to talk to Emily" he said looking at his sister and then me
