Chapter 7-Mates?
Alec P.O.V:
I had asked Alyssa to talk to her. Not to change her wardrobe. At the pack house, we always have spear clothes ready, so that if we phase and our clothes get ruined, we can get some from that wardrobe. Hayley looked completely different. But I could still see her scars. Her emotions. I knew she tried so hard to keep her feelings to herself, but eventually she would tell me what's happened in her life. Maybe not yet, but soon. There was something about the way she smiled that made me want to help her. When I first saw her sleeping on the ground she looked lifeless. She still does. But not as much. I was lyng to myself if I said to myself I wasn't happy that she had changed since meeting me. I knew that there were plenty of people just like Hayley, and she was probably no different to them, but my wolf side of me thought she was.
When Hayley sits on the couch Alyssa sits next to her. Hayley takes a bite of her toast, but doesn't take another. Maybe she didn't like it? I head into the kitchen and make a peach cup of tea for Alyssa. She was like Hayley, she hated Coffee but she loved tea. Well, only peach tea.
A sharp pain in the right side of my forehead alerts me, making me drop the cup of tea. Someone's on our land. They've crossed the borders. Alyssa looks at me and nods.
"Get her out of here." I hiss to Alyssa. Looking at Hayley, Alyssa grabs Hayley's hand and rushes her out of the room. I run outside, and my wolf was screaming out at me. Phase! Protect our land!
It was minutes later when I decided to phase. My clothes were all over the place behind me. When I was a wolf, I couldn't control myself. Maybe it was because I was the Alpha, but sometimes I was dangerous in my werewolf form. I could be over protective over someone I cared about, or I could kill someone. But only if they were hurting Somone I loved.
I ran until the sharp pain stopped. When the sharp pain stopped, that meant they were close. A wolf comes up behind me, and I see it's Eric. He was my beta, so he could feel it too.
I look at him in a confused way, and he shakes his head.
Eric phases, and I could see that he had come prepared. He had brought pants with him, so that when he phased slowly, he could get changed. I didn't, because I was in such a rush. So I would stay in werewolf form.
"I have some for you." Says Eric awkwardly. I nod, and he throws the pants in the air as I phase, so seconds later I wasn't naked.
"Where are they?" Asks Eric, looking around him.
"I have no idea." I mutter. And that's when I hear it. A scream. Hayley. Eric and I look at each other and break off in a run, me way ahead of him.
There she was, on the floor of Dylan's room, with her eyes closed.
"Hayley!" I shout, coming to her level. There it was. A tracker.
"Search the house." I hiss at Eric. He nods, and leaves the room. I lift Hayley up, and lift her onto Dylan's bed. She still had a plus, and she was breathing, but there was something different about her. The speed of her pulse. It was getting faster. And her skin was getting pailer. The truth dawned into me. This isn't a tracker. This is venom. I yank the tracker out of her neck and throw it onto the ground.
"Hayley? Can you hear me?" I ask, shaking her shoulder. She moves her head, and opens her eyes.
"Where am I?" She asks. I was about to answer, but Eric yells out to me.
"Alec. You need to see this!" I run out to him, and see he had a crumpled up piece of paper. He hands it to me, and I take I gasp. It can't be true.
I hope you enjoy having a dead mate. Hayley.
Hayley wasn't my mate. No way. I didn't like her. Did I?
A/N:
Big stuff has just happened! Yay! What did you think?
