Chapter 4-Emotions

Hayley P.O.V

When I was little things would slow down for me. If I was having a really good time, it was as if everything just went into slow motion. That's what's happening now. I'd probably only been asleep for a couple of hours, but it felt like it had been days. I could hear voices, and sometimes I could feel a sharp pain in my arm. Everything felt all fuzzy, almost as if I was swallowed by fluffy clouds. The last thing I could remember was that I was hungry, and someone was carrying me. Alex? Alec? Alec, that's his name. His voice kept ringing through my eardrums, making my eyes go all dizzy.
"Why did you bring her here?" Snaps a voice that was unknown. In could tell straight away that they were talking about me. It was a man's voice, that had an echo effect at the end. It was obvious he was an older man.
"She was hopeless. And hurt. I needed to bring her here." Says Alec.
"You didn't need to do anything. She was perfectly fine staying on the streets!"
"No she wasn't! Can you see how skinny she is?" Says a girl and Alec in unison. I couldn't stand them fighting about me anymore. So I rushed up, making myself get head rush. The first thing I saw was Alec. He was next to a girl that had two Dutch braids. She looked fierce. Everyone that was in the room, stared at me, and made me feel extra self conscious.

"As soon as she gets better, she's leaving." Hisses a man that was in the corner of the room. He looked like he was in his mid-thirties and he had a frown glued to his face.
Great someone already hates you.
Alec nods, and then signals to everyone that they need to leave. Anxiety was starting to creep in the slightest, but I tried not to show it. I couldn't show it at all, or he would demand me to calm down. Like my uncle. My uncle was a strange man. He was either really nice, or really mean. Like on my birthday, he's really nice. But any other days he would make me cry in bed when I was asleep. I ran away from him a couple of months ago. So I lived on the streets. My mum and dad left me when I was 13, so I had to go with my uncle. I knew that mum and dad weren't going to come back. They hated me. They always did, and they always will.
So I had built up this wall, that no one could enter except adorable puppies. The wall was made up of all my secrets, and lies. It was almost like a barrier, between my world, and someone else's. I was scared if I truly ended up trusting someone, then they would leave me to fend for myself. Like my own family.
"Hayley? Can you hear me?" Asks Alec. Reality and my thoughts fused together, and I saw that Alec was standing there, with a worried look on his face.
"Hayley?" He suggests. I nod, and look at my hands. They were... unscathed. No cuts. No bruises. Nothing. But how? I remember when I tripped over, or I got hit. Or kicked. This can't be my skin. An alien must be inside my body. This coulldn't be my skin. I look up at Alec, and see he's smiling. He did this.

What did you think? I personally, have big visions for this story and with the characters, so I'm really looking forward to that! Anyway, have a great day/night!
