Eric P.O.V:

When Alec came home, he had a pale Hayley in his hands. I could smell alcohol as soon as she got close to me. Alec layed her down on the couch, and looked at her for minutes. I rolled my eyes. And then I saw it. Blood on her? finger. Alec's blood. No way. A bubble formed in my stomach, and a growl comes up from my stomach. No way. This can't be happening. I don't like Hayley. Alec's blood is nothing. I don't like her... at all. Nope. Definitely not. But then the growling in my stomach got worse. I ran outside, and saw that Stan was standing on the porch.

You don't like her. Not at all. Nope. She's Alec's mate, not yours. A growl escapes my mouth, and I run. I keep running until I hit a tree. It was now, that I realised it. I like Hayley Fields. And I could never have her.

Hayley P.O.V:

There were stages.

I would feel useless, and like I shouldn't live. And then, I would feel energised. Alec laughed every time I woke up, bounding out of bed. And then, he would support me when I cried my eyes out.
Then he would pester me about eating, but I just couldn't. I couldn't push myself that step further. I just wouldn't.

"Hayley, you need to eat! I am not sitting here, watching you starve!" He yells, hammering his fists onto the table. I flinch from his gesture, and spin off of my barstool.

"I don't need to do anything! In fact, I'll just go back and live on the streets!" I yell, going over to him so that our faces were inches apart. He grabs my arm, and checks it again. I rip away from him, and put it behind my back. I wasn't revealing my arm yet. Alec hates how I did it, and I could tell that he was going to stop me whether I like it or not.
"Show me your arm." He says, calmly. I shake my head, and move my arm even further away.
"Hayley, this is important. We need to sort it out, if you're doing this-" he says, gesturing his arm towards me. I shake my head.
"I don't want or need help." I say, walking past him. I guess I wasn't as quick as I thought I was, because he grabbed my hand. I was taken my surprise, and I banged into him.
"Sorry." He says, looking at my arm. It didn't sound like he truly meant it, but I couldn't tell.
"Hayley, you need help. I thought I was enough. But I'm not. I'm getting you a counselor... you need help. With food, and the cuts." He says, pointing to my stomach. I put my hand there, and my stomach grumbles. Alec raises his eyebrows, looking at me with a smile.
"You're hungry. And... I don't care if all you eat is a strawberry! I want my 'mate' to eat, and I don't care about how much!" He says, kissing my lips. I push him away. Something he said stood out to me, and I wanted to know what it was.
"What does mate mean?" I ask, looking at the ring in my finger.
"It means your mine. No one else's. Mine. And if anyone touches you, I'll kill them." He says, growling. I smile, and he wraps me in a hug. I could hear his heartbeat quicken when my head rested on his shoulder. And that's when I realised everything. Alec would always care about me. And I was his mate.

Lately, I've been trying to update as many books as possible, but I just need to juggle my time table so I can write. I don't know whether this book is actually that good, but if it is, then thank you for reading. It makes my day, and it spreads a smile.
I just want to say I have this really mean boy in my class and he's so racist. To me, a skin colour doesn't matter, and what language you speak doesn't matter. He's always picking on my best friend, and I feel useless. She sometimes gets upset, and I have no idea what to do.

I also want to say, that I am happy for you to PM me, asking me to read your book. I really want to find a good book, but the book I really like hasn't been updated in like months :(
Anyway, this is really long, and I'm going to leave you with one thing.
