Chapter 19-Secrets Revealed
Just to let you know, I changed my wattpad username. It's now @anxiously_perfect so I hope that's okay. Lately I have been struggling with my anxiety, and not being able to keep it under control which sucks:( and what makes me really sad, is that my friend doesn't even care. Anyway, sorry for this long message, but I just had to get some personal stuff out there. Enjoy this chapter:)
Hayley P.O.V:
I fell asleep in the car, and when I woke up, I was in Alec's arms. I had no idea why I fell asleep, but I didn't care to much.
He was walking me to my room, and he looked like he was happy that he had gotten the chance to do that.
For some weird reason Stan, met us both in the kitchen. He looked like he had been waiting for a couple of hours. And he looked angry.
As soon as he sees us both, he frowns. Alec carefully places me on the ground, and I began to sway on my feet. I managed to get myself together, but I felt embarrassed because Stan and Alec stared at me.
"Where were you guys?" Asks Stan, looking at my dress, and Alec's suit.
"We were-" I start, but Alec cuts me off.
"Dancing. I took her to my school dance."
Stan raises his eyebrow, and looks at me with a worried expression.
"I can smell another pack. Why?" Asks Stan. Alec looks at me with a concerned face, almost as if Stan had said something wrong.
"Because Ash... he was there. And he gave me this." Says Alec, getting something out of his pocket. It looked like a bracelet, or necklace. I could see it had initials on it, but Alec was so fast giving it to Stan I couldn't see. Stan looks at it for a couple of seconds, and then clutches it in his hand, almost angrily. I could tell by the way he closed his eyes after he said it, that it brought back memories.
"I'll keep this." He says, taking a deep breathe. "Hayley, you should go to bed.... Alec I need to talk to you." Says Stan, turning all his attention to Alec. Alec looks at me with a smile, and gestures towards the door.
"See you tomorrow." I say, already walking towards the door. There was something about Stan that was making me worry. Were they talking about me? It felt like they were, but maybe they're talking about something else?
Alec P.O.V:
As Hayley left, Stan took my hand, and lead me outside. I could tell he was somehow annoyed, but I tried to block that out of my mind.
"You're not to hang out with her. Leave her alone." Says Stan. I roll my head back, and laugh. He must be joking. He has to be. Totally. Definitely.
Stan keeps the same expression on his face, and doesn't even look pained at all. He was real.
"No way. I'm not leaving her now." I say, clenching my own fists. Stan rolls his eyes and gets the necklace from his pocket and places it on the ground. And smashes it to pieces with his foot.
"That was her mother's, and you just broke it! What the hell, Stan!" I yell, hitting his elbow. "Remember who's the alpha." I add. Stan rolls his eyes, and stamps on the necklace again. Now there were just the metal fragments from it. I felt a piece of sorrow for Hayley. It had photo's of her, and it was her mother's. How could Stan do this?
"I can't believe you! She doesn't even know her mum or dad, and you just broke that necklace!" I yell. Stan rolls his eyes for probably the fiftieth time.
"It was for the best. By the morning, I want her out of here." Says Stan. It was now, when I hammered my fists in the air.
"No. She stays here." I say. Stan shakes his head, and does the biggest frown.
"She's leaving, and that's final." I walk towards the forest and Stan follows.
"I'm sorry. But if she leaves, so do I." I say. Stan shakes his head angrily, and I smile.
"I didn't mean that. You need to stay here. She needs to leave. You're the alpha, and you can't just leave."
"Yes I can." I say. "Because you've always said that we should fight for the person you love. And I love her. And I don't care if that means I don't have a pack, I want Hayley, and that's final." Stan stomps his foot on the ground, like a child, and he makes me seem more intimidating then I actually am.
"You love her?" Asks Stan. I roll my eyes, and clap my hand together.
"YES! I DO! And-" Stan cuts me off.
"You can't love her. You can't!" Says Stan, hitting his head with his hand. It was now, that the forest really made me realise that Hayley could probably hear, because we were yelling.
"And why is that?" I ask, looking at the ground.
"Because she's- she's my daughter! And I am not having her being mated to a werewolf like you!" Yells Stan.
It felt like I had been punched. All this time, Stan, wanted Hayley to leave but she never did. She stayed here, with me, and we started to get feelings towards each other.
Stan had been lying all this time. Anger pumped through my veins, and I could tell that Stan knew he should of never said that. I guess, it just came out but he should of thought of that before he said that.
I knew that I was going to phase, and I couldn't help it, no matter how hard I tried.
Minutes later, I was growling at Stan. He tried to calm me down, but it didn't help. The hairs on my back, stood tall as a breeze from behind me made Stan feel cold. But then I realised it wasn't that. Hayley was close. Too close.
I looked behind me, and saw her standing on the porch looking at both of us, as if we were crazy. Her mouth formed an 'O' shape, and I could tell she couldn't believe what she saw.
She had PJ'S on. And I could tell that she was freezing cold. As soon as reality catched up with her, she ran inside. One look at Stan, and I could tell all he could see was his daughter. Not a girl called Hayley who had lived in the streets. His daughter. As soon as I managed to phase back, I ran inside to Hayley.
She was already getting her stuff together to probably leave. I could tell by the sound of her heartbeat, that she wasn't scared. She was broken. She thought that I wouldn't lie to her. But I did.
"Hayley please-" I start, but she cuts me off.
"I don't want to hear it." She says, getting the dress she wore tonight into a bag. The bag had stripes, and by the look of it, I think she had probably had it for a long time.
"Hayley I swear I didn't mean-" she cuts me off again.
"I should of never came here. I should of just state on the streets like what I deserve." Says Hayley. "Or better yet, died when I brought that cut to myself."
A ball of panic starts up, and I could tell why. Even the thought of her dying, gets me nervous.
"You can leave. But don't die. I get it, you don't want to hang out with a monster, but don't hurt yourself." I say, warning her that if she did that then I would hunt her down.
"It's not that, Alec. It's not that you are a monster. It's because you were a monster, and you never thought to tell me before I fell in love with you!"
"Look away." She says. I look towards the door, and a tear leaves my eye. I waited minutes, in awkward silence until I finally got the courage to talk to her.
"Please, Hayley. I had so much fun tonight... and-"
"So did I. But all 'fun' things need to come to an end." She says. Now she was wearing a long sleeved t-shirt and some jeans. The jeans were ripped at the knees, and it didn't look like they were brought like that. She zips her bag up,and heads towards the door. I grab her hand, before she can leave.
"I'll always be here." She nods, and leaves her room. I could tell that now Stan tried to stop her. But she wouldn't listen.
She just ran. Away from me. And slowly, I could feel my heart being ripped into pieces.
