Gossip phone conversations

First call after 2 long months

Staying away from my little sister was something that I never wanted. But now I'm too worried about her. It is the perfect time to make a call. I picked up my cellphone and called Serena, my two years younger brown haired and hazel eyed, two years younger sister. As expected, she soon picked up the call.

"Hello, Sally?"

"Yeah. I'm really missing you."

" Same here sis. But I'm really enjoying here with Raven."

" Of course, Raven is even though our cousin, still his personality matches with you."

"Yeah, but not always. Let me tell you what happened this morning. Now that we are facing lockdown and his friends had gathered in the nearby garden, he asked permission from Uncle Steven and when uncle said no he was still adamant to go. Uncle said that he's got no discipline. He then went towards Aunt Rain who just told him,'Can't you just listen to your dad? That's when her own cell rang with the conference call from her friends and she rushed inside her room for privacy and Raven muttered under his breath'Mom is so disciplined in meeting her friends.' Uncle glared at him while I silently laughed."

"Yeah sure you are different. You woulds have said that to her face." My sarcasm has started showing off really.

"Maybe. How are things there. Everything is fine. Just a few fights. Dad at home is sometimes a disaster. He is the one fighting with me, mom and even little Adam and last night when Grandpa had called he'd said,'Oh yeah, they are fighting everyday and I'm being the peacemaker.' That's all." My perfect mimicry of Dad made Serena burst into a fit of laughter. Hearing her laughter made me smile as well.

" I really miss home."

"And I miss you."

"During this time I'd just read this message that keep your phones working otherwise people will definitely think you are dead."

"Well Adam's phone broke."

"Really! It had to happen in due time because of his overuse."

"But the irony of the situation is our dad who never used to play games is now being forced by that little devil to play. And mom who never used to give her phone to us has to give her phone to the devil."

" Really our little brother is even stubborn than us. Sending me dad's pic playing. It will be a great memory."

"Yeah sure. But now I need to go. Enjoy. Take care of yourself."

"Bye. Same to you."

And that'd how our first phone call after 2 long months ended with a permanent smile etched on my face for the rest of the day.

After a week or so

Sally's P.O.V. :

After a week or so of again missing my siblings, I was ready to place a call. And the phone was quickly picked up by sis.

"Hey sis" I said with a blooming smile even though she can't see me.

"Hi Sally, how are you doing? Everything alright?"

"Yeah it is. How's the family especially Adam?"

"He's doing great with his naughtiness increasing day by day..." She trailed off.

"Why? What happened?" I was suddenly curious.

"Well today he was supposed to ask dad for permission to use the computer for his online games. He went towards dad and instead of asking, told him that he's using the computer. Dad told me, 'When your mum comes tell her how he never asks yet orders.' When mum returned and Dad complained he just said,'No mom, Dad said and I asked.' That's how it is. Everyday's drama. When dad is not at home he still does mimicry of his. How heroes flex their muscles, etc etc."

"He is such a drama queen. I miss my drama queen."

"And we miss you too." She replied in a serene tone.

"Here there's no less drama."

"Hmm I see. What did you hear?" She questioned. I can seriously imagine her raising her eyebrows as it was a habit of hers.

"The neighbour Aunt Susan had visited her son's girlfriend. And she was supposed to stay in the outhouse. The outhouse was full of soya sauce yet she managed to stay during the night time. In the morning, when she visited the couple in the mansion and spoke about the sauce, the boy's girlfriend said,'Its because we only store black soy sauce there' and she eyed Aunt Susan."

Her laughter boomed through the phone. I really missed our sister's moments.

"Come on. Now I've got to hang up." She said and I sighed,'Time's up.'

"Bye, take care." I said and with a goodbye from her side, I hung up the phone.

Last Chapter (Epilogue)

She was getting ready in front of the mirror with nervousness visible on her face. After so long, she was going to meet her family back again.

Fulfilling her dreams, completing her studies, she was at last successful. She was a famous journalist with an internship completed and a permanent job at News Agency. She was happy the way her life had turned out and today she'd meet Serena.

She heard the doorbell ring and happily went downstairs in a hurry to see her family. Sally stood in front of Serena who still looked like the beautiful, caring sister she knew, just a bit more mature.

Their reunion was filled with happy tears and hugs and they moved into their new flat. The sisters were together once again.
